I too want to stay in bed today. Think I am going to try to tell work today and get it over with. My boss is lovely but I'm still scared- both of saying it out loud and of admitting its real.

As I've been off work since week 6, work know about me. I couldn't even have kept it secret if I tried - the doctors note last time said 'pregnancy related' on it. They are great though, can't complain, they keep texting to see how I'm doing.

Hello could I join please. I am a berry from bunnygirlies original berry thread and although don't post regularly I have been about (lurking) on most of the berry threads.

Had a bfp on Sat (and sun and today!). On the other thread its been called a FUFC bfp due to the fact we were due to start ivf after the next cycle (as in F* you Fertility clinic!)

So anyway here I am, petrified! can't really believe it! No symptoms other than my 2 lines and slightly sore boobs. Well actually last 2 nights I have woken up in the night and taken ages to get back to sleep and have been a lot more thirsty than usual, but that's it.

I just can't believe we have done it... going to poas again on Friday but am convinced af is just going to randomly turn up this week!

Thunder I would go with the nice and simple 'just wanted to let you know that I'm pregnant' approach. No matter what you say it'll be a bit awkward, just get it out there! I can't wait to tell my new work on my first day

Scan dread is getting to the point of psychosis. Convinced something bad will have happened. We're going on holiday to Cornwall on Friday, when I will be 10 weeks. Last time I was 10 weeks I was on holiday in Cornwall and that was when I started to mc (although the heart had stopped a couple of weeks earlier, I just hadn't known). I know I'm being a superstitious idiot but I don't really want to go!

Oh boom you poor thing. I know exactly the feeling and I still get it. This scan is a GOOD thing though- you planned it for now exactly because it's before your holiday so it will put your mind at rest and you can enjoy the break. You just need to get yourself to weds and then you will be sorted.

Getting to weds without going mad is the difficult bit- have you got plenty to distract yourself?

Noooo! I have a week off (pub is quiet so I can't get shifts) and not much to do with myself! Mr Boom is doing a seminar tomorrow night so I'm going to go to that with him for moral support (he's a bit nervous). Might just go for a few massive dog walks.

Oh boom sorry to hear about the lack of distractions. I am meant to be studying today and have done fuck all but google '8 weeks pregnant' information, nap and buy snacks from the shop.

I already have maternity jeans - sad, I know for 8 weeks! - but I am bloatastic 24/7. I am normally prone to it though, normally it comes and goes but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere anymore. I must have the stomach muscles of a plastic bag.

I think (those in the know may shoot me down) I can feel a very slight bulge above my pubic bone - the rest is above this, still in the lower belly, probably in my large intestine...

I type this eating a truck load of philadephia and drinking chocolate milk (all about the dairy for me this week) so yes, it could just be fat!

My bloat is really high up too-way above where the bean is. I find it so strange and I can't understand it. Fatty fatty

I think most of mine is just lard, my uterus is retroverted so unlikely to show properly until a bit later. Although I'm certain my lower belly is harder to suck in than usual! Brod if you lie flat on the bed and can feel a slightly firmer texture when you press just above your pubic bone, that is indeed your uterus. Hard to feel before 12 weeks but not impossible!

I've also got a bit of a dairy fetish. Laughing Cow is my friend.

I know pregnancy is dated from first day of last period, is it exact? so mine was Thurs 29th Aug, does that mean im 4 weeks this thurs? Just wondered cos nhs due date calc says im 4 weeks already?

Had some cramps today, milder than period cramps but still there. I presume its just burrowing down?

I had quite a lot of twinges early on puppy, it can be totally normal. I think I was also hyper-conscious of anything going on in that area and noticed things more than I would normally too! And you're right, not the NHS website (assuming your cycle is 28 days) - not that it matters because your due date will probably change slightly at your dating scan anyway

I had a lie down and can feel a slightly firmer bulge above my 'triangle'! Hello possible womb - or muscle or other lump. Maybe I'm further along than I thought, and hence the bloating and possible womb-bulge...

Hi puppy - Aye, they count your pregnancy from the first day of your last period, even though of course you weren't pregnant in those first two-ish weeks ('normal' cycle assumed). Twinges are normal - I've never been so aware of my body, so I think I notice more than I ever have before, you may well also be hyper-aware.

ooh boom no its not, its 23 days (average as it varies between 22 and 24) I did change the cycle length on the nhs thing? so does that make it right???

puppy by the way I've literally woken at 3-4.00 and have taken hours to get back to sleep since about 3 days of realising I was pg! It's something to with the increased progesterone apparantly.

Just in case anyone has forgotten, my scan is a week tomorrow. I'm not even wishing away the days, honest!
