Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, first trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a long time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

I have been eating runny poached eggs regularly since my bfp. The risk is salmonella so as long as you triple check they're lion stamped (which means they come from hens vaccinated against salmonella) then you are absolutely fine

BelissimaLol · 26/09/2013 05:28

Excellent news boomGrinGrin
Thunder and merk what are your excuses for not joining us on the grads thread now?? I promise we're lovely GrinGrin
Glad things are going well here. And new joiners too. Our old eggs are doing us proud lately!

BlindKitty · 26/09/2013 07:40

I'm only just comfortable in the copter never mind the 'big girls' thread!

merk maybe I'll get more relaxed throughout pregnancy but not taking any risks, even small ones atm

Boomgoestheweasel · 26/09/2013 07:51

merk I said exactly the same last time round, but when it didnt work out I beat myself up for every last thing I'd eaten that wasn't strictly pregnancy kosher (none of which will have had anything to do with anything of course!) So even though I know you're right, I can't bring myself to stray from the guidelines at all! Besides, I like hard boiled eggs Grin

Morning berries!
I had an appointment with private obstetrician yesterday and at the last minute tagged on a cheeky scan as well. All looked well - will try to get a photo up - and arms and legs all present and correct. Wouldn't wake up and wriggle though, so I obviously have a sleepy one or a comatose one Shock

boom congrats on your scan!
Though to all of you with your eggs - couldn't deal with any of them ATM.

CatsCantFlyFast · 26/09/2013 08:29

Thunder have you got the link handy for the book? Other berries may need the wisdom!

Boomgoestheweasel · 26/09/2013 08:30

Awww poppy great news! Been for a nosy at your photo, which way up is your poppyseed? Just so we can put it on the backwards list if required Grin So how far on are you now?

So much for eggs, I'm currently eating last night's lamb meatballs and chilli beans that I made for Mr Boom (I was too full of egg). Find myself getting weirder and weirder at mealtimes as time goes on!

Ooh what book? What have I managed to miss?!

MotherOfCleo · 26/09/2013 09:02

poppy mine was a lazy arse too!! I had to stand up and do star jumps and run on the spot at my 12 week scan as bubs was fast asleep! Ate heaps of sugar before the 20 week one and he was a bit more active Wink

Thundercatsarego · 26/09/2013 09:33

You're going to make me try and do a link? From my phone?! Challenge indeed for my poor addled brain. Here goes:

Brilliant book

poppy hooray for the scan!

Re graduating- boom said to me on the ttc thread that I had to take her with me, so I did (no credit to her of course). So now it just figures that I can't leave here without her either. ok I'm just scared

PoppySeedBun · 26/09/2013 10:13

I second the brilliant book recommendation! Loved it and have re-read many chapters.

My bean was upside down for the 8wk scan (I think). This time (10wks) he was reclining with head on right of picture and feet on left. Is that backwards? Confused
Picture not up yet but will add when I get a chance tonight.

BlindKitty · 26/09/2013 10:45

thunder nor me!!!!

Thundercatsarego · 26/09/2013 10:49

So shall we all go en masse?

We could....for example....set ourselves a milestone (e.g. Booms dating scan), a particular date (e.g next Monday) or not allow ourselves to make any other helicopter threads and go when this one fills up....

Cavort · 26/09/2013 10:56

It might be a bit early for you, but I would like to recommend buying <a class="break-all" href="//recommwww.amazon.co.uk/The-Wonder-Weeks-development-predictable/dp/9079208043/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380188486&sr=8-1&keywords=the+wonder+weeksend" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The Wonder Weeks for those of you who like research-based philosophies. I was skeptical at first but my baby has surprisingly played this theory out to the letter since birth and knowing about these fussy phases is currently saving my sleep-deprived 'Leap 3' sanity rather than wondering why she has turned into the devil seemingly overnight!

This is also worth a look before you start buying sleep-related baby gear.

Don't feel pressurised into moving over to the Grads thread. We'd love to have you but have been where you are and understand there's safety in numbers and hopefully you'll all come en masse when the time is right. Smile

Cavort · 26/09/2013 10:58

Wonder Weeks link that hopefully works

Brodicea · 26/09/2013 11:19

Hello all, back to the south coast from York in one piece thanks to my tupperware box of crackers.

OMG such good news from boom and poppy congrats guys Smile

Thanks for all the book shizzle!

CatsCantFlyFast · 26/09/2013 11:40

I vote for going en masse, otherwise we will end up with 2 antenatal berry threads which would be a shame

CatsCantFlyFast · 26/09/2013 11:41

Ps have just been violently sick. Somebody needs to tell my body about the second trimester and the fact I'm not supposed to puke and I am supposed to glow Wink

Thundercatsarego · 26/09/2013 11:46

When shall we go, merk?

I have now developed a daily headache. It's there when I wake up. It's fades in the daytime and comes back with a vengeance every evening. It's my version of 'feeling great' in the second trimester.

Brodicea · 26/09/2013 14:36

Someone at work just guessed I'm preggers, because I look 'thicker' not fatter, of course.... I'm only 8+5!

Hmm

Are you going merk and thunder? You will be missed! But I guess we all hope to graduate to the big girls thread one day...

Thundercatsarego · 26/09/2013 15:28

No brod. I am not going! I really gave that impression??

BelissimaLol · 26/09/2013 16:21

Surely you can go and still stay!? You're obviously popularGrin
No pressure though as cav says. It would be lovely to see some new faces but I can continue to stick my nose here instead GrinGrin

Brodicea · 26/09/2013 16:32

I see: I confess I was skim reading the 'we' not realising that all of us could pop over en masse.... I hope I have the right end of the stick now... my poor brain!
