Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, first trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a long time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

The photo thing happens if you update from your mobile, for some reason it's ok if you do it from the computer (I think). Although I can't be bothered to download photos to the computer most of the time (laaaazy)

Yay for your results brod, it's such a lovely relief to get the letter saying 'low risk' isn't it!

Angelina I think most of us have paid for a scan at some point, you've got to do what you've got to do to stay sane! I do think it's a bit poor that your GP doesn't know what he can and can't refer for though. And after I said nice things about him too!

Qaz my scan was transabdominal at 7+3, and I have a retro uterus so they normally struggle but they found everything fine (I was practically wetting myself every time she squidged my stomach though, water overload!)

I also nominate Tally for the new thread, I did this one Grin

Mr Boom has got manflu, and his mother is arriving for a week's stay tonight, joy of joys! And the dog wee'd on the carpet! Other than that, everything's fine and dandy in Boomworld this morning. Drinking hot honey, lemon and ginger in the hope of staving off whatever lurgy he's brought into the house and trying to decide where to start with the mountain of housework that needs to be done to make this place acceptable to visitors...

Oh dear. Does Mr Boom in any way resemble ?

Angelina77 · 24/10/2013 11:18

Gz puppy I turned 5 weeks today :)

boom I know, that was the worst thing, the GP should've known. Good luck with your visitor, sounds like it could be challenging.

Brodicea · 24/10/2013 11:26

Oh qaz what did you do about your potential job interview in the end?

Brodicea · 24/10/2013 11:27

boom - sounds hectic!

I just had a crying outburst in my office. Luckily my colleagues were lovely and one even bought me a pastry Smile

Boomgoestheweasel · 24/10/2013 11:40

Qaz have you been secretly filming in my home Grin Grin He's now installed on the sofa with a bowl of porridge and his iPad while I hoover round him. I'm not getting him a bell though! He just heard me watching that video and went 'are you mocking me??'...no dear Grin

Angelina what does GZ mean? Yay for 5wks Smile

qazxc · 24/10/2013 12:12

am going to interview, it's this afternoon so i am doing prep arsing around on MN.

Boomgoestheweasel · 24/10/2013 12:42

Sorry brod, didn't mean to ignore you - did the pastry make you feel better?

Aah Angelina thanks for the translation!

Qaz good luck for the interview, even if you don't want the job hope it goes well!

Am spending my morning scrubbing muddy Boomdog marks off the walls and skirting. FUN

Goof luck qaz I bet you have the best interview ever without the pressure of really wanting the job.

MotherOfCleo · 24/10/2013 16:12

Grrr 38 weeks and baby still not engaged Sad feel frustrated as I've doing all the walking, yoga, ball bouncing, hip circles etc which they tell you to do but head is still not engaged.

Feel frustrated, a bit like I'm in limbo and like a bit of a failure as my body isn't doing what it's meant to.

Was going to go to yoga tonight but giving myself the night off now to generally eat chocolate and feel sorry for myself

Plus the dog just threw up all over the floor which absolutely stinks, so after cleaning it up I've had to leave the room as I felt sick. Bad day generally.

MotherOfCleo · 24/10/2013 16:13

oops, wrong thread sorry girls

Brodicea · 24/10/2013 16:39

The pastry did help I have to say, and a little walk around (although trying not to run into any one who might notice my puffy eyes).

Oh dear, mother, I know you've posted in the wrong place but still, what a bummer of a day - I hope it gets better and you have a nice cosy time this evening Brew

MotherOfCleo · 24/10/2013 16:57

cheers brod,glad the pastry helped!!

I currently feel like I'm running a marathon, I know I'm near the end but have no idea just how much longer till I will even see the finish line let alone cross it.

I'm just being silly an impatient really, but cant help but want to know an end is in sight. I really really want to meet him and start being a mummy.

CatsCantFlyFast · 24/10/2013 18:22

mother everybody (and I mean everybody) is bound to tell to you enjoy these last few days as your last ones without being a mum. As annoying as it is when you get the same unwanted advice, I would say to try and do a bit of that. Sleep when you want, lie on the sofa and be lazy, go to a spa etc.
But also don't beat yourself up about your body not doing what it is supposed to... It is. Your body will know the right time of when to engage much better than a midwife with a couple of cardboard circles and an 'average' timescale does. Trust your body, it made this baby an it will get it out when it's cooked Grin I know you know that but I don't have anything else remotely reassuring or helpful to offer!

Thundercatsarego · 24/10/2013 20:04

kitty you really weed yourself??

BlindKitty · 24/10/2013 20:06

Well ok maybe I was exaggerating. Although if I don't get up in a minute I may well do...

PuppyMummy · 24/10/2013 20:25

I cooked a microwave pasta thing for tea as oh back later and I couldn't be bothered to cook. it smelt like sick so I binned it and had cheese on toast instead!!! (and lindt chocs) Shock

Tallyra · 24/10/2013 20:31

OK OK I'll give it a go. What should I put on the title? something about nub discussions and boxing pirate scans... anything else?

Tallyra · 24/10/2013 20:33

Nice. I was going to eat a freezer meal but then realised dh needs it for work tomorrow, so I had a ham sandwich, followed up by a peanut butter and apricot jam one. It was yummy but I'm quite full now. Oh, and an apple. I'm addicted to pink lady apples at the moment.

btw, unless it's a flu jab side effect I think I've got the winter cold bug that goes round about now. been drinking hot lemon, Manuka honey and Rochester ginger to numb my throat. Grin

BlindKitty · 25/10/2013 06:36
