Hi there. I was just wondering how everyone is - Ghosty, Hilary, Bogwoppit and anybody else who is pregnant after a previous miscarriage. There seems to have been a lot of sad news re pregnancies on mumsnet recently. On the one hand, I feel like I don't want to parade being pregnant in front of those who have had an m/c - on the other hand, we need to show that there are some positive stories out there!
I am 16 weeks tomorrow. Feeling ok, over the nausea I felt from about week 7 to week 12 or 13.

Hi there HD! Good to hear from you and good move to start a new thread!
16 weeks ... wow ... where is the time going? Really glad that you are feeling better re. morning sickness. Is there a bump yet?
I am 28 weeks now ... can't quite believe it. I go through moments of panicking about having another baby and how is it going to fit in to moments of really looking forward to having it and loving it .... DS says he loves 'his' baby more than anything ... bless!
I have my physio appointment for my SPD tomorrow - finally! Had an appointment 3 weeks ago but because of a cock up with the NZ post service I didn't get the letter until the day AFTER the appointment - DOH!
Hopefully they will give me some execises to do and a support belt or something ... mind you with the NZ summer approaching I am not sure a support belt is going to be that comfy ... Oh well!
How are Hilary and Bogwoppit ... and there was Splash too and a mystery poster called preggers ... where are they all?

hewlettsdaughter · 10/11/2003 23:00

Hi Ghosty! Glad you got a physio appt. - is the SPD really causing you trouble? Preggers is Metrobaby - she revealed herself on the Anyone due in April 2004?! thread. When did you start wearing maternity stuff? I am into maternity trousers already, I feel much more comfortable in them than in my normal trousers with the top button undone!

I'm here just having a busy time of late.
I am almost 8 wks so have made it past the point I miscarried last time (7 & a bit weeks)fingers crossed it all goes ok.

only feeling sick when I am hungry. extremely tired & growing out of my trousers fast.

had to have a tooth extracted today so a bit down in the dumps cos of the pain. ringing hosp tomorrow to try for early scan - midwife suggested it.

hope it's all going ellfor the rest of you. thanks for asking.

hewlettsdaughter · 10/11/2003 23:06

Hi Bogwoppit. That sick/hungry thing is weird isn't it. Once I realised I needed to eat about every couple of hours I felt a bit better. Good luck with trying to get a scan! I had one at 13 weeks and felt very reassured by it.

Ghosty · 11/11/2003 02:13

I hope you get your scan booked bogwoppit ... am glad you have a good midwife ... keep hold of her won't you?? Good luck ... let us know how you are ...
HD ... I think I started wearing Maternity clothes properly at 19 or 20 weeks. I managed to get by with 'big' normal trousers or stretchy stuff up until then but had to stop wearing normal stuff around 16 weeks. Now I am enormous ... the bump went from being quite respectable to being huge and 'in yer face' overnight at 23 weeks.
No stretch marks thank god ... didn't get them with DS (despite him being 10 lbs) so hopefully won't get them this time either.
Congratulations Metrobaby

Bogwoppit · 11/11/2003 15:27

just spoken to a lovely staff nurse in early preg unit.
she has booked me in for a scan tomorrow at 3.30

I am looking forward to it, but apprehensive at the same time. a friend has said she'll look after ds - lucky Fri is her day off. which means dh & I can go together.

hewlettsdaughter · 11/11/2003 22:37

Bogwoppit, that's great you got the scan you wanted. It does sound like you have some supportive people there. Good luck for tomorrow!
Ghosty - 10lb! Wow!

Bogwoppit · 12/11/2003 20:06

1 baby with heartbeat

7+5/40 (i reckoned 7+6 by dates so not babd going!)
can't date it b4 8 wks so I'm still going by 19th june

really really happy & my mind has been put at rest quite a bit.

bunny2 · 12/11/2003 20:45

great news.

hana · 12/11/2003 21:48

you must be thrilled at seeing all that on the sceen. Excellent news!
hana

Ghosty · 12/11/2003 22:59

Fnatastic news bogwoppit ... you must be relieved. I didn't realise quite how stressed I was in the early weeks until I saw my baby at 9 weeks. I literally felt the stress lift off my shoulders and fly out of the window ... and I indulged in a healthy bout of tears too

I had my physio appointment yesterday for SPD ... and other back trouble ... Had an hour with a lovely girl who was very gentle and sympathetic. She basically said that all the advice she could give me was to rest ... so even no more walking DS to kindergarten (only a 15 minute walk) and the most I should do is a mooch around the supermarket (yay!!)
She gave me some exercised to do ... and gave me a delightfully glam (not!) tubi grip thingy to wear around my middle (from under my bra to the tops of my thighs ...) I can't tell you how sexy I feel in that ... if my sex life was not already dead it would be now LOL!!!
Oh and something called a Pubic Belt (nice!) which is this tight velcro thing that goes around my bottom and ties tight over my wotsit ... not very comfy I have to say as it is a bit tight on my bladder.
Oh ... ain't pregnancy grand

Bogwoppit · 13/11/2003 03:23

hana & bunny2 - thanks for your kind messages. hope U are both feeling OK.

ghosty. thanks too. sorry UR having a bad time with spd. hop eit doesn't get too bad

bunny2 · 14/11/2003 00:33

Hi Bogwoppit, I'm a bit down at the moment but I have some good days too. Hopefully the bad ones will get fewer and further apart and then .. maybe I'll be pregnant again and back on this thread properly. . In the meantime I'll just lurk and keep up with everyones news.

Bogwoppit · 14/11/2003 03:09

ok. bunny2. you take care of yourself.
hopefully you will get some good news before long

Ghosty · 14/11/2003 03:42

Ditto Bunny ...
I think of you often ... hugs to you and hana {{{{}}}}

hewlettsdaughter · 14/11/2003 22:24

Ghosty - "pubic belt" made me laugh... sorry. Suppose you can console yourself with the fact that at least the SPD has been recognised and you are being given support!
I wonder if pie still reads this thread. Anyone know how she is getting on?

bunny2 · 15/11/2003 00:30

Thanks Ghosty and Bogwoppit. I'll keep you up-to-date. Keep well and keep those babies safe. Bunnyxx

Hilary · 20/11/2003 17:08

I am still here, kicking around. Things are fine with me. I am now 25 weeks - and where did all that time go? My main complaints are getting tired if I do too much (though 'too much' is a vastly reduced version of my usual 'too much' and being quite achey. This didn't happen until later on with the boys so I am not looking forward to feeling achey for the next three months!

But I can't complain too much, I feel well, no sickness at all, baby moving lots etc.

Can't believe how fast the weeks are flying by now I'm not so worried anymore.

quackers · 22/11/2003 11:53

Hello everyone, can I rejoin this thread? I have just caught up with all your news and I'm really pleased that you have all got such positive stories, I really hope that this time I will go to term. It's wonderful having this thread.
HD can't beleive you're so far on already!!! Time flies!
Hilary and Ghosty you were here last time and sound like you're both doing well and boggy, so please about your scan, it must be the biggest relief ever!

Ghosty · 22/11/2003 12:45

Hi quackers! Congratulations! ... Does this mean you are definitely pg then? I was following your other thread and I wasn't sure ... Great news if you are

quackers · 22/11/2003 13:00

Hi Ghosty! Yes I got a positive as no AF came and symptoms felt like pgcy. V V early days and you know what that feels like. Just want to be past the 'danger' period!

lazyeye · 22/11/2003 15:11

Hi all, just lurking here & fretting a bit.

Had early scan on Thurs after m/c in June. Good news - found baby with hbeat. Am pleased, but of course still neurotic. They put me at between 6-7 weeks. I think I was 8 at the w/e - fairly sure of this. Does this mean baby is small?? Also, not showing much yet at all. I know its early but I'm sure with DS2 I was bigger at this stage. Also, not needing to wee all the time also makes me think its not growing. Worry worry worry. Have dating scan in two weeks or so.......should just wait huh? Anyone else out there feeling neurotic??
