I've seen a thread for June, July and September. But none for the future leo babies!
I'm due on the 3rd! Anyone else around then? :)

Hi Everyone. Hope those of you with 'August' babies who have arrived are doing well and those of you still waiting are not going too stir crazy.

I said I'd write properly when home. I'm going to spare you all the details as it's been a total slog if I'm honest but we're finally finally home. I went in with the ambulance on 27th July then they started me off with the pessary. Told me I'd have another in 24 hours so wasn't expecting anything much to happen until the Friday possibly but the doc came back on Thursday and decided to just break my waters. So it all kicked off and I wasn't quite prepared for it. In fact, my husband wasn't even there at the hospital yet! Anyway, fast & intense & very medicalized labour. Epidural for BP, ventouse delivery, back to back baby, baby got bit distressed with dropping heart rate & I had episiotomy but wonderful midwife. I was so lucky to have her, I feel incredibly grateful.

Anyway, ended up staying in hospital for 7 days as Harry had to go in incubator with jaundice and they weren't happy with my bp but by Tuesday I'd seriously had enough and discharged myself against medical advice, after we knew baby was ok. It was truly awful. Had been under impression that was going to be discharged that morning but they kept me waiting all day (12 hours) and then my bp had gone up as I was getting stressed by the environment. I won't go into it as this will end up being an essay but I had probably two 40 minute naps in 48 hours or so after birth. I couldn't feed without getting chronic back ache in there and I just couldn't take it anymore, oh and I hadn't had anything to eat because you had to get it yourself and Harry was just feeding all the time. Food was utterly disgusting when did get it. Got home Tuesday night but they'd really scared me about my bp (was very high). I think lack of sleep & events really got to me as I spent a couple of days last week being utterly paranoid about my bp and being scared to death that I was going to end up having a seisure in the night. DH was pretty crappy last week too (yet another essay...!)

Anyway, gradually calmed down, they put my bp dose up again but then had to be readmitted because Harry's jaudice went up again. Spent another 2 days in there this weekend (3rd weekend in a row in hospital!) Thankfully, he is all fine now. .Had another test today and he's within acceptable limits. They no longer seem too concerned about my bp so I'm just seeing gp tomorrow about it.

So though I had him 10 days ago now, I feel like I've only just got him home. DH has taken to being a dad wonderfully well and little one is feeding well and doing fine. It's been 'emotional' as they say - PHEW!!!!! :)

Hey Rootatoot sounds like a doozie of a time but glad you are home safe and well.

Sargeswayeyes you'll have to let us know if the dogs were on track they do sense an awful lot of weird stuff. Sadly all my cats do is wake me up when I'm trying to kip on the sofa!! :)

Eviepoo · 08/08/2011 17:40

Hey - root - sounds like you have been through it. Glad you at the other side now xx

Well for all my thinking things were going on...it seems I was wrong and it was all my IBS and BH.

This afternoon I had trace (all is fine) a fluid scan (it has reduced somewhat :() saw the diabetes dr (happy with my bloods) saw Obstetrician who decided to do an internal just incase they get to the point they decide to induce (due to reduced fluid) - head is egaged but cervix is still 3cm long so not thining yet and is only a fingertip dilated.

So they decided to repeat trace/fluid scan/internal next Monday

So I am taking that as not likely to be this week, unless of course her internal check actually starts anything.

blueShark · 10/08/2011 10:42

I hope I dont join too late. Was due on the 8th with DC3 and today second day overdue seems so hard :(

DS1 and DS2 were born few days before due date so all this waiting is news to me, or maybe because its a girl is taking her time.

Hope all August babies and mummies that have arrived are doing well!

Eviepoo · 10/08/2011 12:06

Hi blueShark never too late :)

cantthinkof1 · 10/08/2011 16:38

alicedee · 10/08/2011 19:34

Hey, everyone! At last my internet is back on again. It's amazing, lose that and all of a sudden start to feel quite isolated.
I thought I might've missed a birth, but looks like we're all still waiting.
Due a week today and don't feel any closer. BHs have calmed down. Bump is growing, baby has changed position and is more on the left side now, with feet wedged under ribs. Lovely. I think maybe it's dropped, but don't have MW appt til next week, so don't know for sure.
Started getting the bloody calls and texts. Grrrr.
How's it going Eviepoo??
hang in there Rooks, won't be long now.......
Welcome to the newbies, come join on for impatience and moaning! Wink

Yup, I am hearing you Sargesaweyes!! I am due tomorrow. Have been wishing he would hurry up when suddenly last night I woke at 3am with a slight stirring (turned out to be nothing) and I really was in a state of dread, thinking 'oh no not now!'. (Am now trying to get myself out of this mindset!) I am not scared - well maybe just a little bit! I am just dreading the pain again. FWIW - previous births were actually fine and not traumatic thankfully, so I don't know where this is coming from!

theonlyhb2 · 12/08/2011 00:20

on Wednesday our little girl Harper was born :) wow was that only yesterday? Contractions started 3am (thought was Mexican food issues ha ha) got to hospital 10.20am and she flew out at 1.07pm. Then i lost 3.5 litres of blood and had to be rushed to surgery and just finished 4th lot of blood transfusion. But she is actually gorgeous and the birth was not worse than pregnancy. 6lb 1oz and a week early. Hopefully be home tomoro! Good luck to you all x x x ps wish midwife would piss off with her bloody feeding charts!

fizzypigs · 12/08/2011 05:58

Congrats only hb2!! Hope you're having a wonderful time getting to know your baby. My baby was born on sun morning and Sarge i was terrified! I had been moaning about wanting my baby out and then faced with the reality I was SCARED! To offer you a non-traumatic story. Waters broke on sat @ 6am, contractions started kicking in properly at 6pm, went to hospital at 10pm, was examined at midnight and 8cm dilated!! Moved quickly to labour ward - baby born 2hrs later in pool. Thought I had the lowest pain threshold - turns out I don't! Did it all in g&a which I didn't get till midnight! Good luck - I'm sure you'll be ace!! Wink

Eviepoo · 12/08/2011 09:14

Yeah to new babies theonlyhb and fizzypigs congrats.
I hope you are better since the transfusion - thats a lot of blood to lose!!

rooks I have had so much sickness and reflux and heartburn in this PG that DH said it must be a dragon breathing fire and it stuck. We are quite geeky DH especially so and I think he'd be chuffed if it indeed turned out to be a dragon LOL

I want my baby now!!!!!

littlemissw · 12/08/2011 14:17

Just thought I'd share the August postnatal thread :)

coastgirl · 12/08/2011 14:41

Wow, so fab to hear about all these new babies! Not that I'm sitting here at 40+4 secretly glaring at you all or anything Grin

rooks14 · 12/08/2011 14:47

haha I see now Eviepoo. That's so cute!
Congrats to theonlyhb and fizzypigs! So happy for you, and also sliightly bitter at being over taken!!! There is a queue you know Wink

Sargesaweyes & airborne I had a sweep today and I'm so sore now just form the midwives hand! Just said to DP, can you image what a baby's head is like :|

Sweep wasn't anything like I imagined, it made me achey more than anything, when she was 'doing it' it really hurt my back! Have no idea why, she said she just about got it (yum!!!) and if it doesn't work I'm being induced on sunday night at 7pm! But hospital visiting hours are only till 8pm, so DP can only stay for an hour and then has to go home until I'm actually in labour! Makes no sense to me!

Eviepoo · 12/08/2011 14:55

Yeah I had an internal to 'check how I was doing' on Monday - I forgot they can be quite nippy.

hope the sweep works rooks

I'm getting a trace/scan/internal again on Monday - so I am praying doc tells me that my cervix has thinned this time.

BH have started already today - come on dragon make it today

Eviepoo · 12/08/2011 16:42

Dragon has moved......

Back has been along the left side of my bump for weeks.

I think the back is now directly under my belly button.

Wonder if that means anything.....
