I've seen a thread for June, July and September. But none for the future leo babies!
I'm due on the 3rd! Anyone else around then? :)

SJR38 same day as me!!! I have only bought nappies (1 pack, newborn) so far.......

worst symptom - hyperemesis
most annoying thing - "oh, morning sickness, have you tried ginger?" and the lists of what you should and shouldn't do

theonlyhb2 · 06/05/2011 22:21

Eviepoo, my mum keeps telling me I might have to get washable ones as she couldn't use disposables with my skin etc, I was such a problem child, it does worry me! Mum couldn't bathe me proper for years cos my skin reacted to being soaked in water so was all strip washes.

I have organised nothing. I figure I will do it all after 15th July which is when I start maternity leave, and I have family and friends who are dying to help out so am not too worried, just worried about payng bills etc whilst off work for so long!

Eviepoo · 06/05/2011 22:26

theonlyhb2 - how long you taking off?, I too am dreading being on maternity pay, I finish on 03 Aug for 37 weeks.

There are tons of washables out there - take a while to look around there is bound to be a brand you like the look of.
My second choice was littlelamb and my third choice is totsbots so if the flips don't work out I may try for one of those kinds.

Rootatoot · 06/05/2011 22:32

Ohh just realised I did a typo in my PP. I meant to say feeling better THAT you ladies are no more organised than I am not feeling better THAN you ladies! ooh...sounded up myself there! sorry Blush

marie14 · 07/05/2011 00:10
  1. what have you bought?

Have ordered the pram, but not getting it delivered until 2 weeks before due date. Have just got bits and bobs that i got as bargains off ebay! I know everyone says not to buy anything too early but buying bits as we go along is working out well :) am now 27+5 and need some more clothes and a cot! But have a moses basket bouncer etc all in my mum and dad's garage!

  1. whats the worst symptom?

stretch marks! (if that counts) i put moisturriser on EVERY day, usually three times, cocoa butter bio oil etc etc, but if you google bad pregnanncy stretch marks mine are worse than that!

  1. whats the thing that's annoyed you the most? (that someone's said/done)

the dirty looks i get when waiting for midwife/scan appointments! I'm only 20 but my boyfriend has a very well paying job and i'm at uni supported by him (no benefits in site thank you!) yet older mums and certain cultures give me very nasty looks because I don't have a ring on my finger! (grrrr i'm ranting too sorry!)

also over interfering future inlaws/ rest of boyfriends family. Trying to name him and pulling faces at my vegetarian plans. grrrr!
we're also using washables (well it's my first so i'm sure lots of people start off all eco-friendly then get fed up :D but we're giving it a go) and my mum was very doubting but I showed her some of the few we bought as a trial and she was surprised at how far they'd come on since the terry towling oens she had us in (apologies if i haven't spelt it right!)

Ladies, another 3+ months to go...! its still not too late to join a bump active group :-) check it out on fitbumpsandbabies.co.uk Hope to see you there!

WinterLover · 07/05/2011 08:56

I'm due 19th with my 1st :)

Pregnancy has been fairly straight forward until yesterday when I started bleeding.

I've bought sod all yet, booking 4D scan today for 3 weeks time and then buying pram and Moses basket this week :) We already have a cot as it was DSD's.

theonlyhb2 · 07/05/2011 09:41

that must be worrying winter. Has it stopped now?

I want a silver cross pram but am gonna test some out at the baby show in a few weeks.

Evie, i go off on 15th July and go back 1st march. Not sure i will be off all that time, depends on money etc but me and OH plan on having first 3 months at home together. I will go back to work as earn more and get very good benefits

WinterLover · 07/05/2011 09:58

Yeah it was a worry as I'd had bad cramping during the night then bleeding in the morning. It stopped by the time I got to the hospital to be checked but they still had to give me anti-d jab :( and do blood tests. Alls ok now tho just feel rough and achy.

I'm getting a pram from eBay I think, will post the link when I get to computer. Might go have a play with some in babies r us this next week.

theonlyhb2 · 07/05/2011 10:04

is that the first time its happened? I have been lucky and had nothing like that, but have friends that seem to constantly bleed :(

i was gonna go all new for pram etc but I think I might go second hand if you should buy new mattresses etc for each baby anyway.....this is my first, and not sure I will have any more after all this sickness ha ha ha

Yukana · 07/05/2011 10:55

Due 10th of August here, I do post occasionally on the August thread too. :)

It's scary that in approximately 14 weeks I'll have my first child. I just hope childbirth will be okay for me! And I pray that I get to use the birthing pool!

WinterLover · 08/05/2011 19:30

yeah this is the first time, still bleeding a bit but its old blood to not too concerned. They've booked me to see a consultant on Tuesday to check me over again.

I was happy with a second hand pram but i need one that can go off road and they're not easy to find second hand..

Mooglet · 08/05/2011 23:40

I'm due on the 2nd, and it'll be my third. And I'm only posting really to say that washables are fab - I have used them with both my older DCs, and they will be out on the washing line again in August!

We certainly used disposables more in the first few weeks, and have always used them at night (the washables just won't last for long enough), but I think that it's worth trying to use the washables quite early on because then it just becomes the norm for you and no more of a hassle than anything else. And my two have had odd bouts of nappy rash, but no more than when in disposables - you may just have to change the baby a bit more frequently, but that's no bad thing.

Rootatoot · 09/05/2011 15:24

Winterlover - we're EDD buddies :) Are you doing ok now re bleeding?

I've also been looking at off road prams. Tested Phil n Teds Explorer in Mothercare (fits in boot of ford fiesta - impressed!) but want to see some more before I decide. They are dear but then liked that you can add double kit later if I have another and can customize them a lot. Mothercare had an ex-display one with lots of money knocked off. Might be worthing keeping eye out in your area for that kind of thing?

WinterLover · 09/05/2011 16:28

I'd spotted this one Rootatoot Off Road

Im ok now, still getting the odd bit of blood but its brown so not too concerned. I see the consultant again so will be prodded and poked again tomoro :( I've only just been discharged from consultant led care for issues with a cyst and now im bloody back there again [hhmm] Just pleased im still signed of work, least thats one less stress.

Bought a few babygrows today :) starting to get excited now

Rootatoot · 09/05/2011 17:17

Ohh I like that WinterLover - don't know that brand. Will check it out. Tyres are nice and chunky & good price for all the versatility.

Glad at least you are signed off and can be seen 2moro. Hope just a blip and you're fine really.

My doc found protein this morning so has sent off sample in case I have infection. Feel ok tho so prob something of nothing.

My mum just rang - she's been buying for our LO at a lovely shop near her. :) She's more excited than me I think but it's nice starting to get some bits and pieces together :)

otchayaniye · 09/05/2011 17:33

Hello everyone, and good luck.

I'm having another girl (DD1 is 2-1/2) on August 22, although I'm planning on a section so actual date is likely to be a little earlier.

I am under consultant care as I had preeclampsia with my daughter and have a history of Asherman's. So far everything is great

  1. What have you bought. So far nothing. I don't need clothes (I have hundreds of designery Bonpoint-y items from my rich friend) and I never had a pram or buggy for my daughter, or a cot, so I'll see how I go with 2. Since I plan on co-sleeping I don't need a cot. Aim to use wraps for the first 6 months, will take a view on pram later. Hope to do without (can't explain why I hate them!)
  1. Worst symptom. I feel great this time around, although I still throw up every day (threw up everyday for 8 months with DD1 but still put on 4 stone!), but only after dinner. I still feel sick sometimes, but nothing like I did in earlier months. Flip side is I am the same weight as I started. I think this has helped me feel better. Breathlessness as well. We got stuck on the London Underground yesterday in a tunnel for 2 hours and I almost passed out.
  1. Most annoying comments. Midwives telling me to stop breastfeeding my 2-1/2 year old daughter, but failing to give a cogent reason why. My MIL commenting about my weight (I'm under 9 stone), but then she has an eating disorder. A couple of people saying 'Oh, your husband wanted a boy, didn't he' when told the sex. But by and large I am a curmudgeon with no mum friends so to be honest I don't get that many comments at all.
theonlyhb2 · 09/05/2011 17:44

winter hope consultant goes OK, its nice you still signed off work, deffo helps with the stress! also like that pram you posted, I didnt really think about incorporating a pram in with dog walking......

rootatoot i am sure they are just so extra cautious sometimes when normally they wouldnt worry about it.

otchayaniye breathlessness is a bitch isnt it! My boss thought I was having an asthma attack today and I only just walked in from the car park. I am the same weight as I started as well, so its deffo not extra fat ;)

I also think all this weighing malarky is crap. i weigh the same as I did this time last year (10&half stone, and have done for past 4 years) yet in December when I found out I was just over 9&half stone.....it makes no sense to me as I knew I was nearly 10&half in Nov before cos I was a bridesmaid (and I had to not eat for a few days to get my dress done up) and I was sure I was fatter already in December (as I was eating again ha ha) ......

WinterLover · 09/05/2011 18:43

Pleased you all liked the pram. My parents live on a farm well farm house and 18 acres as they run dog kennels so whenever we go over there we walk our dog and some of theirs. DSD loves walking the puppies so I really wanted a pram so when we're not walking Ive somewhere for baby to sleep. Although knowing my mum she'll have mine and brothers cot all made up in the spare room :)

I may swap the matress out depending on how good it is... just need to order the pram now :)

theonlyhb2 Ive only just weighed myself and ive put on 3kgs so far, ive lost weight on my neck/shoulders etc but its moved to bump.. guess i had a little extra on me before I got pregnant lol

Firawla · 09/05/2011 20:07

I'm due on the 14th with #3

I've bought nothing yet really, one baby outfit and that is all. Just need to buy a new moses basket i think as old one is battered now, and buy a proper bed for my ds1 so i can shift everyone along and put new baby is ds2's cot. Cos its a 3rd boy we have so many clothes, toys and everything already. I feel like shopping but there is hardly anything left to buy thats not already here from the other 2

I;m not too bad on symptoms this time, atleast i've not been sick at all. Just need the toilet all the time but thats not too bad, an improvement on previous pregnancies anyway

Most annoying comment probably people that are too negative about 3rd boy, i admit a girl would also be nice but there is nothing wrong with 3 boys and it does not really need sympathy and oh what a shame type attitude.

MonkeeMummy · 09/05/2011 21:43

Hello everyone.

I'm due on the 16th with no3.

I've bought nothing apart from three white babygros, muslins and nappies, even though we gave everything away after DD2... this is our bonus baby and am planning to shop when I'm less flippin' tired!

Firawla, like you I am also fed up with people looking sympathetically at me when I tell them we're having a(nother) girl and really regret asking the sonographer now... A boy would have been different but we are really happy to be having another baby and really aren't bothered by gender.

nutterbutsquash · 09/05/2011 22:51

Due 8th with no. 2 . DS is also August. Haven't bought anything yet but will be reusing ds bumgenius, probably topped up with a few flips. I am massive, people (irriatingly) cannot believe that there is only one in there!

WinterLover · 10/05/2011 07:53

Im starting to get defensive over bump.. anyone else?

Everytime someone says 'your huge' I tend to reply well im only 25cm and midwife thinks I have a neat and tidy bump!!

I know they're just passing comment but actually bump is all bump, I actually take after my mum for one thing and thats carrying DC all at the front, from the back you'd not notice the difference, and other than my boobs growing, if you took a top half picture you'd not notice either.

Luckily I've only had mum and DP (who are both allowed) touch my bump but im dreading other people starting it :(
