Grin owl what is it with dates!! I by my dates am due Aug 10th, and i was charting but i will just go with it for now. Tis good to have that comparison, and when the other ladees arrive t'wil be fab. Just wish it was all of them.....xx

clareanna · 24/01/2011 21:58

Hurrah and welcome owl!

toomt I second what moo said- take care and big hugs ((())) it is a very emotional stressful time ad well as beig wonderful too!

moo do you want a VBAC this time?

gi1da as my c section date had been moved back a week I now feel like I've got ages to go! 18 days and counting... Nearly ready but haven't got the same seige mentality I had last time (obsessed with having vast quantities of food and loo roll in the house at all times) so quite relaxed!
Spent a lovely afternoon cuddling a newborn baby this afternoon got me all excited!

loopy Aah she'll be so excited!! My DS is 3.8 and asked me this evening "but HOW did baby brother get in your tummy?" cue my long rambling answer about how mummy and daddy love each other very much... And have a special seed...". To which he replied, " no that's not right mummy, he climbed up special steps and opened your tummy to get in" glad we've got that straight then. Confused

loopy will go armed with my charts. They've only pulled it back 3 days tbf which is not so bad compared to some. OMG Cant believe talking about birth, have refused to partake up until now Grin

loopy he knows boys have willies and mummies have special baby bottoms, but doesn't seem to like that explanation! His big fear is that my tummy will go pop like a balloon and baby brother will fly out, so have decided to stay away from c-section explanation for now!

lucysnowe · 25/01/2011 09:56

Hi all

The list is changing! nick and especially orange so glad the scans went well, so pleased for you. Smile Here's to a peaceful 8 months!

I've decided not to have an early scan. The last one was so traumatic for me and for DH I don't think I can go through that again. I think I am something like 8 weeks now, so only 4 weeks to go... and am feeling fairly positive about it this time around, no bleeding (had v. faint bleeding before, even though it was pretty much a mmc), symptoms okay. So I'm just going to hang on for the time being.

Also looking forward to some new names on this thread soon. (Partly so that I'm no longer a newbie. Smile )

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 25/01/2011 15:00

lucy bless you on making the decision not to have a scan. Won't be long until your 12 weeker.

Clare love DS stairway story.

Well done on graduating to the list owl & nix

scan yesterday, all good and got some lovely pics.....head hair visible on one of the twins too Grin Thankfully presenting spiderbabe is still head down but other has flipped. Sexy girdle tres uncomfortable :( so think I am just going to have to grin and bear and wear for really short periods. Feel like I am moaning all the time. Need to sort myself out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

35 days to go...........

PenguinsMummy · 25/01/2011 15:28

35 days!!! Wow Magic that is going to fly by!! Loving that you spotted hair at the scan Grin

Welcome and congrats to all the ladies that have had good news recently.

28 week appt with MW tomorrow - 28 days to work until I start my materntiy leave - with a week off thrown in for good measure in between now and then - woohoo!!!

Unbuffy · 25/01/2011 15:40

Just dropping by to say hello and stickiness to new ladies and a big supportive (geddit) hug for Magic16 - hang in there (that one's NOT meant to be a joke), you're getting there!

Hello from the Other Side, the Land of Nappies and Nipple Nibbling (not nearly so much fun as it sounds)!

clareanna · 25/01/2011 21:32

Hello buffy lovely to hear from you!! Is the grads grads thread still going? If so where is it? Just want to mark my place...!!!

magic I could see hair on my scan too- all bristly! Isn't there an old wives tale about hair and heartburn? Has yours eased off a bit?

Lucy good to hear you've made a decision about the scan- they are always really nervewracking, but the odds are in your favour for a successful oh so yurt absolutely right to be positive!

Unbuffy · 25/01/2011 22:38

Grads going strong on PostNatal Clubs page Smile Drop ins welcome!

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 26/01/2011 08:46

Hello all, I felt like I should introduce myself as I've been lurking a little bit.... I'm 5+2 after a MC in June last year and am swinging between mad optimism and sheer panic!! It is surreal being over here and seeing lots of names I recognise. I think magic had just got her BFP when I joined the TTC thread and now she's about to have twins! I'm going to continue lurking for a while but I might need a bit of handholding and I thought here might be a good place to come.

It's v cool to see nickster and owly join the list!

appleblossoms · 26/01/2011 09:12

Morning all... having a mini panic this morning, for no real reason. Got my 20 week scan in 3 hours and 25 mins (not that i'm counting) and keep having mild panics that something will be wrong....

I think it's because I had a mmc last time, it made me realise that the 12 and 20 week scans are there for medical reasons, and not just to get a lovely picture. Does that make sense? So now I'm really aware that this is the anomoly scan...so I'm nervous what they're going to find. Oh someone slap me, tis such a silly worry really... isn't it?????

big waves to pink lovely to see you over here! These ladies are FANTASTIC at handholding, and are really very supportive. We've all been where you are....

sorry for a bit of a selfish post this morning, just can't get my head round anything else!

owlbooty · 26/01/2011 10:09

Good luck with the scan, Apple :) I know exactly what you mean about scans not just being pictures. Breathe deeply :)

clareanna · 26/01/2011 10:13

apple know exactly what you mean- it makes you hyper sensitive to the thought of something going wrong rather than bring in the blissfully ignorant and excited camp! Take a good book/ mag to lose yourself in while you wait and fx for you! Are you going to find out what flavour you're having?!

appleblossoms · 26/01/2011 10:16

Thanks lovelies, so glad there are people around! Just had a little cry, then a nice cup of tea and feel a little calmer..

Yep, we're going to find out... DH really wants a little girl, but I'll be happy with either... think DS would enjoy having a baby brother to run around with.

nickstermum · 26/01/2011 10:26

Apples xxx

As long as you are still feeling movements babes, Am sure everything will be fine lovely xxxx best of British xxx

dorcas111 · 26/01/2011 10:49

Good luck appleblossoms. I was a total wreck before both my 12 and 20 week scan, I did not find them enjoyable experiences at all. Even my 36 week scan I found it more something to just get through rather than being excited. My DP was excited about seeing the baby again but I was just terrified they'd find something wrong. I think that once you've had that awful experience of going for a scan and getting the worst news then it's hard to see going for scans in a completely positive way. It just brings back too many bad memories. Having said all that though, try and remember that the odds are very good for all being well, and yes, take a book or trashy magazine to read while you wait. I think the waiting is the worst part, we got there twenty minutes early then had to wait another 20 minutes as they were running late. Not sure how I got through that, although at least I wasn't bursting for a wee like with the 12 week scan.

Well, I'm very, very bored!!! My feet are flipping killing me so I can't do much that involves moving around, but I am fed up with just sitting around. Perhaps I could hire a mobility scooter and whiz down the high street? Been out for a midwife appointment, baby is in a good position and partly engaged. I've been having light cramps for the last few days, so maybe something is happening?

It's good to see some new people being brave and joining the list. Welcome pink, owl and nix, hope you have a very boring time on here!

Lucy I decided in the end to just hang on and wait for the 12 week scan, I think you just have to do whatever feels right for you. For me the thought of having any scan, even an early one for reassurance, was stressful in itself and I knew that it probably wouldn't stop me worrying anyway. Hope that the next four weeks fly by for you.

magic I think you have every right to moan, you have two people inside you! I start moaning to my DP before he's even opened his eyes in the morning. In fact I was doing quite a lot of loud whinging last night as I was so achy and uncomfortable, but he just slept through- or at least pretended to Hmm

How are you feeling clareanna? I can't imagine having a little one to look after at this stage- I really should stop complaining about having to lie on the sofa!

Hi to everyone else, sorry not to namecheck everyone, I think I'm going to go and eat cake Grin

northerngoldilocks · 26/01/2011 11:27

appleblossom good luck for today. I was a mess before my scans too- have cried after all of them ( thankfully throughout relief) sadly having miscarried takes a bit of the excitement away. As everyone has said, being aware that it's not just for photos doesn't make it any less likely to be good news. Let us know how you get on

dorcas sorry to hear getting around is painful- reckon you need to make DP search out those orthotics!

I'm on a dull course today so reading the thread is keeping me going. Have 5.5 weeks left at work, which alternates between feeling like ages and no time at all. Still feeling pretty good at the moment which is great and making it to gym classes etc- hopefully can continue for a while longer. Had a lovely massage last night too which was fab- recommend it!

Hi to everyone else

CaribouMoo · 26/01/2011 12:05

Good luck for today Apples, totally understand the nerves. I actually didn't get nervous before my 20 week scan - but only because we'd paid for the private scan at 18 weeks. Which we got because i was been eaten away at with fear and wanted to enjoy Christmas. I'm sure you'll be on with good news soon, looking forward to hearing what flavour too!!

Hiya Pink - good to see you dropping by missus! We'll keep a wee seat for you to visit now and then.

Come on mini-Dorcas, please be punctual for your poor Mummy!
