congratulations TMT! excellent news. glad to hear little Jemima is well - welcome to the world little girl! hoping you're not too sore.

Tiger, yay for a girl! and for reaching 'viability' :) I always worried about movements, had an anterior placenta. so from about 28 weeks I went by the 8h-rule... (no movements since 8h: start worrying, not before) and it never happened. Though when it had been 5 or 6 hours, which happened occasionally, I did worry a bit all the same. I think that's the price we pay for being aware of how things might yet go wrong. I guess it's a fine balance between being healthily aware of what is going on in your body and being paranoid...

SamanthaB123 · 21/01/2011 10:42

TooMuch Enormous congratulations! It sounds like you did really well. Sorry about the tearing though. Ruby's hand was on her face when she was born, although she did have a lovely small head - only on the 25th percentile. Hope you're enjoying every minute. Don't fret about breastfeeding, it takes a while to get it right.

On phone so difficult to name check at the moment. Wanted to wave to Jollster though, fx that you'll be over here soon enough.

Really tired here but Ruby still amazing and very cute.
Is there anyone out there who is nesting and has time to clean my house Grin! It's such a mess and I've lost contol of my laundry. Oof.

Waves to everyone else!

dorcas111 · 21/01/2011 10:59

Thanks magic, I guess it is all becoming a bit real- especially now I am at the top of the list, eek!!!! I know I shouldn't beat myself up over the iron/ b12 thing, especially as I am vegetarian so it is not entirely unexpected that I am a bit deficient, but I am so paranoid about things being wrong/ going wrong. Will try and chill out today and not be too mental. (yeah right!)

Congratulations TMT, and welcome to the world Jemima, hope you are both home soon.

Hi Tiger, glad the scan went well, another lovely milestone to have got to.

And hooray for Clareanna and Lotta for getting to 37!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 21/01/2011 13:05

Wow the list is really shrinking fast! Look at all those bubbas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

toomuchteaching · 21/01/2011 14:33

I got interrupted by the screaming for a feed last night and just wanted to add a couple of things. Thank you for all the congratulations, glad we get the name approval, it's funny her middle names are so popular now, but they're actually her great- and great great- grandmothers' names, how fashions go round.

Firstly, I didn't find mumsnet at all until I was pregnant with Jemima. I'd spent the most horrific 8 months after my MC not knowing where to turn, and although I was never on the original TTC thread (and wish I had been) the welcome here was utterly amazing, and I couldn't have done the last few months without you all. So a big thank you. I'm passing round the brie and champagne truffles in utter gratefulness for all the times you've answered my silly questions, slapped me with a wet fish (where's it gone) and looked out for me.

Secondly, louisesh my heart breaks for you all over again. I cannot imagine how you're coping. But you're being amazingly strong, and I will keep wishing for a BFP for you soon.

And finally... good luck to everyone still on the list. It feels like it'll never happen, but when it does it is honestly the best thing ever, truly cannot be beaten, and every moment of pain is worth it in the end. Whilst Jemima will never replace the little one we lost in Zambia and that baby will always be in my heart, she is so perfect that I'm just thankful things turned out ok. What a journey. I hope you all get there soon too.

Will be back soon... now to go find the post grads thread.

Unbuffy · 21/01/2011 14:33

Blimey, the list is getting small, innit?!

Congratualtions TMT, fab news and great names and wowsers on big headness! Enjoy your little one and lots of cuddles x

Special hugs for LURKERJOLLS, it will be you soon hon ((((J))))

Have made so many errors in this post i keep having to retype everything - we are currently enjoying colic, dd with upset tummy (and associated nappies) and MIL staying - extra hands v helpful but sometimes you just need time to yourself, y'know? She talks aaaalll the time and with no sleep conversation is not me strong point...

Hello everybody!

Unbuffy · 21/01/2011 14:34

TMT xposts and second everything you say

clareanna · 21/01/2011 16:06

Aaah toomt tears in my eyes - what a lovely post!
buffy sounds like you're having lots of fun... Can only suggest asking mil to take baby for long walks...!!!

CaribouMoo · 21/01/2011 20:03

Congratulations TMT on the arrival of Jemima. That's fabulous news and your post made me well up too!!

BunnyBaby · 21/01/2011 21:08

Well done TMT congratulations on the safe arrival of Jemima!

tigerbear · 21/01/2011 21:17

Viv - how did you get on at your midwife appt? (and where are you off to for 2 weeks?)

Dorcas - ooohhh, only a week to go!!!!

Hello Meita, nice to see you. Will have to follow your 8hr rule!

tigerbear · 21/01/2011 21:23

Oh Toomuch - what a lovely post.
Huge congratulations!!!

northerngoldilocks · 22/01/2011 09:05

Hello everyone, so much lovely news on here recently and I've been totally rubbish! Keep reading on my phone and thinking I'll do a proper post when I'm next on the computer, never seems to happen and then just gets more and more difficult. Have been inspired by Tigerbear to get back on though.

Massive congratulations to everyone who's had their babies recently - RHG hope you're ok now - that sounded very scary.

Louise sorry to hear about the CP - but as everyone else has said - hopefully it shows your body is getting ready and fingers crossed this is your month,

News from me - I've FINALLY started to look pregnant with a proper bump in the last couple of weeks - about time really! Have also started NCT classes so the whole thing is feeling a bit more real too. Had a bit of a panic buying phase for stuff for the baby the other week too as realised I was born at 34 weeks which is scarily soon. Obviously know it doesn't follow and bet that given sudden organisation, my baby will be late - but thought better to not just assume!

Viv hope you have a lovely holiday. Magic, hope you're not too uncomfortable and that spiderbabies are behaving themselves.

Hi to everyone else - plus hope that recent BFPs from the other thread will be joining us soon or its going to get lonely on the list!!

louisesh · 22/01/2011 11:16

Thanks Northergoldilocks Hope you re ok? X

Redheadgal · 22/01/2011 12:39

Hi all,

Back home now. Thanks for all your lovely messages. It's been a tough ride, but we're on the mend. Thanks for the advice Clare about traumatic births. Definitely feel like I went through the wringer, but despite that I still feel my birth was a positive experience - I had confidence in the medical team and nothing happened which I didn't have fully explained. The hospital's flexibility in looking after my husband and finding ways for me to be with my baby was just brilliant.

Thanks also for all the messages re her name - so pleased it meets with such approval :-) TBH we've had a rather mixed response - lots of people didn't even know it was a name which I'm finding really odd.

Anyway, I haven't had time to catch up properly, but just wanted to say thanks for all your kind thoughts. I also wanted to congratulate TooMuchTeaching and to second what she said about this thread. It has been a real Godsend these last few months and I've really appreciated all the support I've received. I think you're all just ace!

RHG xx

sorry for slacking been feeling very sorry for myself and bored of listening to myself. My ERPC for m/c 2 was a year today which has made me more teary, but that little bean changed lots for me in a good way.

Anyhow I am going to have a better day tomorrow and will be more comfy once I get me sexy girdle finally tomorrow after some buggering around last week at hospitals! Natural delivery of spiderbabes has now been ok'd by the man in control of the drugs and twins midwife has told me to come in at first twinge. Eeek......

Big ginormous twin pregnant belly wiggle to you all! x

hi all it's been a long time since I've posted - I had such a small chance of the pg going ahead I didn't feel I should even lurk here

I had my scan on Friday, and measured 7-8 weeks with heartbeat, so feeling over the moon, but still very cautious and too scared to me waiting to join even and trying not to panic on future bleeding Hmm

It's so heartening to see so many ladies at the top of the list and with baby

clareanna · 24/01/2011 07:57

morning all

big squeeeze to magic for what must have been a tough day yesterday - milestones are tricky even with two spiderbabies on board x
Wowzers to a natural delivery - how do the spiders work out which one gets to go first? Am hoping thegirdle is more in the style of marilyn monroe than nora batty... hope it helps hold everything up and makes you more comfy.

orange really pleased your scan when well -I remember I was so prepared for the worst at my scans that I hadn't really thought about what I'd do if all was OK!! I bled during both my successful pgs but not during the one I MMC, it is really nervewracking, but not long now til 12 weeks. Could they see anything that was causing it? I remember my MW saying that all bleeding should be investigated, so as someone who had 3 scans by 13 weeks, don't worry about getting it checked out for your own piece of mind. Many of us on here have gone through early pg bleeding so can all hold your hand x

loopy good to hear from you too! what will the age gap be between DD1 and 4? there is 10 years between me and my youngest sister and I distinctly remember loving doing nappy changes, feeds and bath times. THe plus side was that it also gave me a very realistic view of life with a baby so there was NO CHANCE of me becoming pregant before I was ready as I knew what hard work it was! Grin

I am fine - feel like I've been on mat leave for ages especially now I've got an extra week before the C-section! Am enjoying being a lady who waddles lunches and getting things ready very slowly...

dorcas111 · 24/01/2011 07:58

That's wonderful news orangegloss, will keep my fx for you that it all keeps going well and hopefully you will be joining the thread full time soon.
Loopy, four girls!!!! Congratulations- perhaps your DH could build himself a garden shed to disappear into when it all gets too pink! I'm sure he will be hugely proud of his troupe of girls though, despite being outnumbered Smile.
magic, sorry you're feeling a bit down. I honestly don't know how you are managing with two little wrigglers in there, I feel uncomfortable enough with just the one! Hope today is better.
No news here- did wake up with lots of cramping, but its gone now and I knew really it wasn't the start of anything anyway, although part of me was still hopeful... I don;t think this one is going to come before their due date, although I would be very happy to be wrong! My feet are now in agony, I think my already collapsed arches have collapsed even more because of the extra weight and I am hobbling everywhere. Anyone else had this? Not sure what to do about it really, other than sit on the sofa and eat biscuits Grin.
Hi to everyone else x x x
