orange go get yourself a doppler fix at MW! I was there every week at that stage! and you wombo.. you are getting to that stage Grin too :)

apples careful, hold your horses lassie.. 20 weeks on sunday, lets not count our chickens Grin
Still undecided, dunno if i want to know, if i do find out i will prob keep it quiet and tell no one.

moo sometimes limbo is the best thing! Not long now though my love, when do you finish?! Know what you mean, boys names i have no clue.... loads of girls names though! Must get out my book.

Thanks for the google tip ivy will do...!! Granny squares, sounds like my big knicks i am wearing Grin

littelmiss nearly 26 weeks... wow, I remember when you got your bfp. I was lurking i think!!

I am good. Had a big meeting today i was worried about so DH bought me some new isabella oliver togs, splashed out on new make up and for tramplike working mummy thats quite an effort!! Felt really good confidence was up there and the meet went really well.. hoorah Grinapart from the fecking IT company witch of course, but thats par for the course.

Hope everyone else is fab xxxx

OrangeGloss · 16/03/2011 20:12

Thanks Wombat Moo and Apple it's good to know I'm not alone. My scan was less than 2 weeks ago, and even looking at the screen I couldn't believe what I was seeing, so it's hard to keep the belief

Littlemiss glad you're covered on private, I hope it helps

Apple yes I couldn't believe the Irish-ness the first time I went out. I still have a stinking cold so may have to give it a miss :( am glad you're feeling better, and note taken of pelvic floor exercises!

Nix I have MW tomorrow :) am bricking it a bit to hear HB. What a lovely DH bless him, good to hear the meeting went well

For the last year we've just casually speculated about names, and in all that time we've only managed 2 boys names no girls!

nickster I had one of those isabella oliver wrap tops that's like big bandages you wrap round (Think it is meant to be practice for a baby sling!) I wore it to a meeting with my CEO to feel super smart and came out realising the wraps had moved and I'd been exposing my belly button all meeting - the shame!

moo the childbirth forum has lots of helpful advice for people considering VBAC? What are your main pros and cons and worries?

lovely to see peeps taking tenative steps from the freak out room too!

Can't believe we nearly need a new thread - lots of babies arrived on this one and I'm so excited for more lovely news on the next thread!

toomuchteaching · 17/03/2011 08:44

Grr... just lost phone post.

Just popping in from the feeding frenzy on the other side to say congratulations to all the new grads, it's great that the list is filling up again. And wowzers at all the moving up that's been going on, I clearly haven't been paying attention.

12-20 weeks or whenever it is that you start getting regular movements is really tough, I feel for all you ladies stuck in that limbo bit. But do remember to enjoy yourselves before you're the size of a whale!

J is doing well and I'm loving it, exhausted and a bit braindead though. She has conveniently (as ever) decided to go back down to sleep just as I'm too awake to try again myself. Oh well.

Good luck to northern and lia, hope things happen for you soon, and see you in the postgrads.

Am a little :( at a new thread as I'm the "awaiting news" at the top of this one, always makes me smile. But as clare says, there'll be lots of lovely news on the new thread too... looking forward to it!

toomuchteaching · 17/03/2011 08:55

Obviously I spoke too soon there... can someone please tell her that 12 minutes does not constitute a morning nap!?

nickstermum · 17/03/2011 09:05

PMSL at clares belly button story... yes one of those wraps! But not the bandage one....! Tis like a ballet cardi where the wrap bits are quite thick...although have not been brave enough to wear that one yet!!

Middle of the night insomnia again...but baby was wriggling and some very dull kicks Grin

TMT 12 mins... eek. My DS had a 45 min sleep cycle, but 12 mins...yikes!

loopy there is time for lil loopy to turn yet. Would you have her turned if need be or go for a CS?

orange good luck for MW apt, go with a full bladder :)

PrettyVacant1 · 17/03/2011 09:31

Mornin' Grin

I too am going menkul as I've not had a scan for all of 2 weeks! ShockGrin
So glad I'm "normal" Hmm but do they not realise that I'm crazy and need reassuring.
I thought I may have felt a little flutter the other day but it may have just been my tumbly.

One of the beautiful skinnie minnies who works for me said my tummy looked rounder.
I PMSL as my tummy has been round for, oooo, 15 yrs.
I can feel a hard bump under my belly button though.
I hope it's still growing nicely.

Off to Docs in a bit as my hip/pelvis aches when I stand for any longer than 30 mins or so.
As I'm on my feet all day, tis not fun.
The aching I can deal with but the area above my left knee is numb and my ankle is swollen and itchy.

Luffs to everybodypeeps, I must go shave my legs as I'm sure Doc will want a flash of ma sexy knees.

PenguinsMummy · 17/03/2011 09:45

Happy St Patricks Day everyone Grin ! Although it will be more Brew than Wine today.

northerngoldilocks · 17/03/2011 10:38

Hi everyone- thought I should post quickly before new thread. My beautiful baby boy was born at home at just before 4 am yesterday morning weighing in at a massive 9lb 6 oz. He's lovely although accept I may be biased!

PrettyVacant1 · 17/03/2011 10:43

Lovely news Northern. Smile
Congratulations on your big boy! Xxx

VivClicquot · 17/03/2011 10:53

Oh northern - that's wonderful news. Hope you're having lots of cuddles with your little man. Do pop back and fill us in with more details. xx

wombat - I didn't put a single pound on until maybe 18 or 19 weeks. Enjoy it while it lasts.

From my point of view, I think I've reached the 'really quite bored of this now' phase. I've been pregnant since August FFS. Surely there can't be long left.... I also feel massive - after having a very low, albeit very big and pointy bump for so long, it appears to have risen in the last 10 days to create some kind of boob/bump hybrid, and I'm also really noticing just how much it feels like I'm carring a ten pin bowling ball in my belly.

As for names, we've kinda been sorted for both our names ever since the first pregnancy, so we've not really stressed about thinking of new ones. Our only dilemma was that as my best friend and sister were/are also having babies around the same time, I thought we should come up with some 'reserve' names, in case one of them gets taken.

In the event, our reserve boys name has now overtaken the main boys name, and will probably be the one we go for! Whereas we haven't even got a reserve girls name - although am fairly relaxed about that as my best friend had her baby boy (so no clash there!) and I know our girls name is not one my sister will choose, so fingers crossed we'll be fine... Grin

AlbaDeTamble · 17/03/2011 11:16

Congrats Northern, look forward to hearing about what was hopefully a lovely homebirth. See you soon on milk and nappies thread Smile

Lia you're top of the list now! And very quiet... I'm thinking easy labour thoughts and crossing fingers for another lovely relaxed homebirth

lia66 · 17/03/2011 11:54

Congratulations Northern!

PV good luck with the doc. I too am getting and itchy achey leg. Have some damaged veins since an accident a few years back so I fear I may end up on the blood thinners, but MW said I'll get to model some lovely support stockings as well. Can't wait Wink

appleblossoms · 17/03/2011 14:24

oooh Congrats Northern!! Can't wait to hear more details when you have time.

TMT lovely to hear from you from 'the other side' Grin. 12 min naps are not good.. DS slept for a maximum of 45 mins day and night for about 3 months, I was shattered! But now at aged 2 he still has a 2+ hour nap in the afternoon as well as sleeping 7:30-6, every cloud and all that Wink

Hope the doctor can help PV ... and 2 weeks without a scan, isn't that a personal record?! Wink

nicks your tale of new makeup and togs inspired me, and I popped into town this morning and bought myself some new things. I'm not a makeup person (don't know how to make the most of it, rather than not liking it!), but this pale washed out look really wasn't working.... maybe I'll look a little more grown up and presentable when I go to the hosp on monday to see the consultant for my 28 week check (eek!)

PrettyVacant1 · 17/03/2011 14:24

(dramatic Moi!?) Grin
I have meralgia paresthesia (trapped/pinched nerve) and there is naaaahsink I can do.
Not even sexy stockings.
Boooooooo!

Heeeeelllloooooooooooooo to Freakout grads, over here my pretties and bump me up the list thank you please. GrinGrin

Forgot to mention the other day, did Owl ackshuilly "squeeeeee". ShockGrin
Good heavens, what is the world coming too. Grin
BTW Owl nowt bout my knees to admire, they have their own saddle bags.

Ahhh, and the nice doc said I had puffy cankles, aint that nice. Hmm
16+4 people not blardy 36+4 Gawd help me.

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 17/03/2011 14:41

congrats, northern!

I feel like crap today, got rejections from both my midwifery applications and am a sobbing mess. :(
I'm wondering if it would be worth training as a doula? Somehow I get the feeling people will feel weird with someone who looks as young as me (I keep getting asked for ID for scratchcards...), and I don't know if there's any demand for it in this area anyway. shrug.

lia66 · 17/03/2011 14:49

where are you ivy ? I am a doula. Thre is demand all over the country you would find. Any questions you might have may be answered here

here

best job in the world. :)

OrangeGloss · 17/03/2011 15:35

Loopy sorry you're having a tough time, I hope she turns for you
Clareanna what an awful thing to happen, but tis a wee bit funny :)
Nixs sorry you had a bad night, but sounds like for all the right reasons Grin
PV I wondered if I'd felt a small tickle/flutter then wondered if it was gas! Duff news that nowt can be done, I'm sure your ankles are just fine :)
Northern congratulations!! Grin Good size too!
Viv not long now is it? But then what do I know?! Good you've got some reserve names
Ivy sorry you didn't get better news. I constantly battle with looking too young for my job, but people come round when I get working with em

I had a super-quick 16 week MW, but then I didn't know what to expect anyway. I heard the heartbeat which was heavenly Grin and she said I could go in once before my 20 week appointment so all good :)

Oh, and happy Paddys Day! Shamrock
