He is 2.10. The book says by this age he should be able to hold wees for about three hours. He had a drink around an hour ago and since then has done six wees , three in the potty (after prompting) and three in large puddles on the floor. Surely this isn't normal??? Even if he is trained we will spend our whole lives in the toilet. Me, him, and the baby. Hurrah. Or does he wee too much to be capable of training and will he therefore have to spend his whole life in nappies? And not go to the pre school he is due to start next term because they want him trained. .. And I am desperate for him to get to so I can get him out of my hair for a bit..

Stressed....

Make that four puddles on the floor...

WineWineWine they are all mine, get your own!

Calamityboo · 23/04/2012 21:16

Yes feeling a bit sorry for myself, sorry. I also have a cold, and a teenager! I am having a pity party tonight :( Tomorrow will be a better day, 1st day of playgroup for Jnr, and I WILL feel better!

bringmesunshine2009 · 24/04/2012 00:09

Yes yes to play group! Time off calamity :)

DS returned from childminder with one pair of soggy pants and a nappy on. Hmm

QueenSconetta · 24/04/2012 06:52

I made arrangements with my CM that she was not to put a nappy on her, and got some of those trainer pants. Agreed that if it got really unmanageable I would get her picked up.

Thank was fine on Thurs, but we'll see how it goes today (day 2 of CM).

Wet bed last night, but didn't know til.this morning - she'd just taken her wet Pjs off!

Calamityboo · 24/04/2012 12:34

He had a lovely time at playgroup, and came home in the same trousers and pants! I still have a cold and a teenager, but also had a few hours to lie on the sofa and watch Jeremy Kyle and relax!! feel a lot more refreshed now :)

Calamityboo · 24/04/2012 12:35

Meant to add Queen, I am surprised that a CM would put a nappy on princess, good luck today. Hows the rest of you doing??

QueenSconetta · 24/04/2012 14:42

Glad you feeling better Calamityboo. Poo in pants at CM. What am I going to do with poo? Can't bribe her much more than I am already!

QueenSconetta · 24/04/2012 16:16

She didn't say she would, but she had made it clear that she had other children to consider and if the accidents were frequent then that wasn't really on for her. A slightly surprising attitude but she was upfront about it so fine.

I just wanted to make it clear I did not want her to decide it was unmanageable and put a nappy on her, because I think it would confuse her, x.

Minshu · 24/04/2012 20:20

Sorry to say this when you're reporting accidents, but clean and dry all day. No poo at all day. Nappies still for night times.

Calamityboo · 24/04/2012 20:33

Mmm a very nearly good day, all clean and dry until about an hour ago, playtime with daddy and a big poo accident, so close to a perfect day! I am so peased mini min had such a good day :)

QueenSconetta · 24/04/2012 21:05

Yay for minimin! Shows we can get there, x.

Minshu · 24/04/2012 21:10

Shame about the CM putting a nappy on Princess. I think that's a good thing about our nursery - the toilets are set up so the kids can be pretty independent, which is important to so many of them at this age - and there are enough staff on hand to deal with the accidents, while other keep an eye on the rest of the kids.

MiniMin normally does better in nursery than at home, so could be messier tomorrow - our day off.

Well done on the good day for Jnr, too.

QueenSconetta · 25/04/2012 05:46

It wasn't princess who had a nappy, it was Little Sunshine. Our CM under strict no nappy instructions!

Calamityboo · 25/04/2012 19:14

Blush sorry queen I got that wrong too, little miss sunshine had the nappy on, so sunshine I am surprised at that, how is little miss sunshine doing now? Infact how are we all doing. I am about to do some MAJOR mummy bragging Calamity Jnr has been dry all day, no accidents and a poo in the potty just before bathtime. Mr Boo is currently drying him and putting his night time nappy on ready for bed Grin

bringmesunshine2009 · 25/04/2012 20:41

Came back from nursery in dry pants! with 4 changes of wet and dirty clothes in plastic bags

bringmesunshine2009 · 25/04/2012 20:42

Woohoo Calamity, I am sooooooo jealous! Congratulations :)

Minshu · 25/04/2012 23:21

Sorry, Queen - I read the posts wrong as they were next to each other Blush

Well done Jnr! MiniMin had another clean and dry day, too. Also dry nappy when I got her up this morning - need a few more to consider getting rid entirely, though.

However, second day with no poo anywhere. She's not acting like she's holding it in or showing any discomfort. It's not unusual to have a poo-less day, which she'll make up for the next day, but two days in a row is a worry. She has loads of fruit and veg and lots to drink. Will see what tomorrow brings.

QueenSconetta · 26/04/2012 07:48

Well done Calamity Jnr! I am still poo caked, and getting a bit stressed now, trying to stay calm and ignore it in the hope it will sort itself!

I have upped the bribery ante and told her if she doesn't poo in her pants for a week she can have some wildly inappropriate and awful plastic princess shoes like her friend.

Calamityboo · 26/04/2012 11:21

Ooh, bringing out the big guns Queen, the shoes sound very appropriate for Princess, it was just one dry clean day, I think there is a long way to go before we can declare victory, I am sure the shoe bribary wil go a long way to helping.

bringmesunshine2009 · 26/04/2012 20:37

Great successes ladies! Love the princess shoe idea! Small improvements here. Only two and a half accidents today.

The half was when he started to wee on the floor and I said "no! Sit on the potty!" which he did and finished his wee! Ah HA so he does have control.

Then later he asked for chocolate and I told him if he did a wee on the potty he could have some. He went to the potty, concentrated, did a wee, shouted WEEWEE!! And I danced.

Didn't poo today though. Thank god.

The main accident was after he woke up from his nap. He fell asleep in pushchair, way too early (11) with no dummy and no nappy. To my surprise he woke up dry. But we were at a friends he didn't know very well. He freaked had a mega tantrum (because he was holding it but didnt want to go I think) he wanted his dummy and was super cross so wee'd. On friends mega expensive brand new kitchen Blush scuttled off home immediately. Particularly when I realised I left the 3 pairs of dry trousers I had prepared at home. Noooo.

Still at least 2 hour gaps between wees rather than every 30 min so progress I think and can at least get out the house a little. Better luck tomorrow for all. I am not enjoying the constant state of wee/poo vigilance.

bringmesunshine2009 · 26/04/2012 20:38

Ps am going to Primark to buy loads of cheap jogging type bottoms and socks that can be just stripped off and slung in washing machine. Plan!

Minshu · 26/04/2012 20:39

Nappy was pretty wet this morning, so staying with that for a bit longer. We came home from nursery with bags of wet clothes, but they were just from playing rather than toilet accidents as she was still in the same knickers. Apparently, she also had a poo in the toilet.

I'm liking the bribery, Queen. Wonder if I bribed MiniMin with shoes, she'd shut up and go to sleep instead of shouting and bashing her toys off the bed guard. She's quite happy up there, I think. but not asleep!!

Minshu · 26/04/2012 20:42

Sunshine - that's a good plan. I did the same, and the rate at which they get filthy in her nursery means that she gets through clothes no matter what.

Calamityboo · 26/04/2012 20:49

Jnr was kitted out in Primarks finest ready for what we are doing, also got some of their cheap sofa throws for my lovely delivered for xmas new sofa. We have had a good day again today, back at playgroup, he has been clean and dry again all day and did all his wees and poo on the potty/toilet which he still enjoys. Little miss sunshine sounds like she is getting the hang of it now! Minimin seems to be doing really well too :)

QueenSconetta · 26/04/2012 21:53

You don't need to be shy about your success Calam! That's excellent and I am jealous!

We had poo in potty tonight after a lot of perseverance, but she stayed put quite happily so that's good. Also she is engaging in talking about it again rather than ignoring me so that's good too.

Do you think 'if you do all your poos and wees in the toilet at Gran's I'll take you swimming' tomorrow is a bit harsh?
