He is 2.10. The book says by this age he should be able to hold wees for about three hours. He had a drink around an hour ago and since then has done six wees , three in the potty (after prompting) and three in large puddles on the floor. Surely this isn't normal??? Even if he is trained we will spend our whole lives in the toilet. Me, him, and the baby. Hurrah. Or does he wee too much to be capable of training and will he therefore have to spend his whole life in nappies? And not go to the pre school he is due to start next term because they want him trained. .. And I am desperate for him to get to so I can get him out of my hair for a bit..

Stressed....

Make that four puddles on the floor...

Just people trying to decide what people should and shouldn't tell people with children about to start primary school! Funny but gone a bit sour now.

Calamityboo · 21/04/2012 22:12

Ooooh, shame when they do that, go sour I mean, not the rest of it :)

Minshu · 21/04/2012 23:06

Hello - glad I'm dealing with a DD at the mo, boys sound doubly complicated.

Had one poo and two wee accidents today, but still more hits than misses.

We always watch far too much Peppa Pig. Hope the hangover has subsided, your majesty.

bringmesunshine2009 · 22/04/2012 13:26

Can I join? Day 5 and things are going backwards. Was making progress, but only one wee in potty. I ask him if he's done one, he stands up says no, looks in the potty and is like "wee wee?" he has no idea how it got there.

He will say wee wee mummy, after he has had an accident. Two poos in pants today. Want to keep him in nappies until he leaves home ATM. Nap time now thank god. Friend coming over and we are going out. Must be mad. 5 days in with two short trips out. Exhausting. Going to stock up on bribes. Was going to get travel potty, but thinking ought to just put his potty in a carrier when we go out.

Good luck everyone!

Calamityboo · 22/04/2012 14:04

Hi sunshine, how old is your ds? Mine is 2.6 and he is quite good at peeing in the potty now, but seems to be struggling with poo, he is a bit hit and miss, and unlike some of the other very brave mummys here, I have not started dry nights too. Stick at it, he will get there!

bringmesunshine2009 · 22/04/2012 14:27

2.6 too! No way can I do nights lol. He did a few poos in the potty, but I think by chance than design. Poor guy, he is spending hours on it. Ah well fresh start after nap, maybe I'm expecting too much :) he is a bit grumpy with the who,e business. I am giving him the iPad at 2 hourly intervals and getting him to sit for ten mins. Maybe I'm doing the right thing after all. I bought potty training in one week. Pfffffft. Don't think so love!

Calamityboo · 22/04/2012 14:32

pah, a week, who they trying to kid! Calamity Jr I think has his poo by accident on the potty, to make him sit we put his favourite dvd or tv programme, also a chocolate reward really worked for us. He has had a messy accident this morning, and is also sleeping now. Keep going, I find a large Wine helps!

QueenSconetta · 22/04/2012 18:20

Welcomec sunshine. You will get there. We are on day 12 and dry today and poo in toilet, hooray. Not counting chickens though as there have been plenty of accidents up until now. Poos in pants a speciality!

QueenSconetta · 22/04/2012 18:38

Told you, spoke too soon, poo in pants just now.

Minshu · 22/04/2012 18:42

MiniMin has just had a huge poo on the toilet! So proud of her. She seemed quite scared a the prospect, bless 'er. One wee accident (so far) while watching Daddy doing DIY.

Well done, Princess!

How was the trip out, Sunshine?

Calamityboo · 22/04/2012 19:02

Grinprincess has amazing timing! We have had 3 accidents again today, 1 poo and 2 tiddle, so not too bad, we are on day 8.

QueenSconetta · 22/04/2012 19:33

Ffs, make that 2.

Calamityboo · 22/04/2012 19:36

Shock how much poo can one princess make?

Minshu · 22/04/2012 21:23

Blush - Sorry for my "well done, Princess!" comment earlier - I was on my phone and it didn't refresh after loading my post. So, I was congratulating the toilet poo, genuinely, not being sarcy about the accidents Flowers

I was shocked at the amount of poo MiniMin made - it would have been an achievement for me - just lucky she did get it all out in one go (and in the right place).

Sunshine - I would recommend a potette plus - the disposable liners are easier than cleaning out a used potty when out and about (especially if you do end up with a poo in there). Also, great when folded out as a toilet seat - it's my DD's seat of choice so we have to remember to repack it when we go out.

Sounds like Jnr is getting the hang of things, too.

Had a bit of an argument with DD at bedtime - she wants to go to bed in knickers, but her nappy was fairly wet this morning. Told her that if it was dry in the morning, we could discuss again. Not sure that concept sank in Grin She was giggling a little while ago, so I just hope that doesn't mean she's taken her nappy off.

QueenSconetta · 22/04/2012 21:55

Don't worry Min, I thought that, xx.

QueenSconetta · 22/04/2012 21:55

PS, a shit load Calamity, if you'll pardon the pun.

bringmesunshine2009 · 22/04/2012 23:45

Well done everyone! Great poos on toilets! Trip out was er, interesting waited one hour for a wee to be produced before leaving. Nada. Then got to end of road and "mummy weewee" and a puddle on the floor. Got to cafe, changed clothes sat on loo twice (him!) and nothing back at table and a familiar waft... A big poo, third of today (how? Why?) which he then managed to kick all over the baby change. Waaaaaaaah. No wee before leaving. Got home. "mummy toilet" and puddle on floor.childminder can have a go tomorrow. Good luck dry nighters! :)

QueenSconetta · 23/04/2012 08:09

Oh sunshine, that sounds very traumatic. Stick with it and have wine, x

bringmesunshine2009 · 23/04/2012 09:21

Thanks Queen, how is it going for you? I'm over it now and back in the safety of my workplace with colleagues who do not concern me with their bodily functions :)

mintymellons · 23/04/2012 11:32

Hello everyone.

Blimey, it's exhausting, isn't it?

We're now on day 5 with DD2. Going pretty well all in all. A fairly good hit rate with the potty and she def knows that she should use it, but it's a case of her saying "potty" two seconds before she needs it, so we have to be mega quick. She's averaging one or two accidents a day. We ventured out over the weekend (two separate occasions yesterday) and she stayed dry both times. I must say, by the time it's nap time or bedtime, I'm so glad to get her in a nappy and relax for a bit. Well done to those of you doing night time too. Think we'll hold off on that til she's a bit older (only just turned two!).

Anyway, good luck for the rest of the week :)

Calamityboo · 23/04/2012 15:23

Your not wrong minty, Ifeel like I have been hit by a truck made of wee this week! We are still having a couple of accidents a day, today was 2 wet ones and 2 messy ones :( feels like we are never going to get any better than this!

3duracellbunnies · 23/04/2012 17:03

Grrr, ds has been potty training for three weeks now. He is dry most nights. He was doing really well, one wee accident every other day or so, but last few days he has had 2, 3 or today he has had 6; yes six accidents. Poos always have been fine. He will sit on potty, do a wee, and litually 5 mins later wet everything. He might have been drinking a bit more as he has just got two exciting big boy cups, but he generally drinks like a fish anyway. Tumble dryer will be requestion overtime payment!

Minshu · 23/04/2012 19:23

Oh, dear, sunshine and minty, it's so frustrating isn't it?

I find myself nagging poor DD so much she refuses to go. Little accident just now, but she managed to hold on to most of it until we got on the toilet.

She's had a pretty good day at nursery (including poo on the toilet, which she still seems to find scary) and the only mishap was due to her not pulling her trousers down far enough when going for a wee.

I have bought some pullups for DD to try for night time as she didn't want to wear nappies anymore. She's not sopping wet in the mornings, so hoping they hold it. But, I was surprised at the price and have been looking at reusables instead, but they are over £20! Anyone else looked at this?

QueenSconetta · 23/04/2012 21:11

I know that feeling Minshu!

Dry here today but poo in pants - again!

How are we all?

QueenSconetta · 23/04/2012 21:12

Chin up Calamityboo, you'll get there, x.
