He is 2.10. The book says by this age he should be able to hold wees for about three hours. He had a drink around an hour ago and since then has done six wees , three in the potty (after prompting) and three in large puddles on the floor. Surely this isn't normal??? Even if he is trained we will spend our whole lives in the toilet. Me, him, and the baby. Hurrah. Or does he wee too much to be capable of training and will he therefore have to spend his whole life in nappies? And not go to the pre school he is due to start next term because they want him trained. .. And I am desperate for him to get to so I can get him out of my hair for a bit..

Stressed....

Make that four puddles on the floor...

Well done everyone (Los for potty and mums for resilience). We're day 3 and no wee accidents so far but 1 poo in pants. We're still on nappy for nap and sleep as I know otherwise it would be messy! DS is upstairs now jumping instead of sleeping (and probably pooing too)! Let's hope it gets easier soon

Calamityboo · 15/04/2012 12:44

We are day 2, what a difference. Yesterday was 11 changes and 1 potty wee, today (so far) is 6 potty wees and 3 accidents, and they have been where he has started to wee and stopped, told me he is leaking and we have got the potty to finish the wee in (the last one in my mums front door way) but had to change him out of his wet things :) We are off to get one of those Pottette things in a bit, I thought we would be ok with taking the potty out, but it is a pita really.

Really regretted the Wine about half way through the spinning class :(

QueenSconetta · 15/04/2012 14:47

Just when you think you are getting there, she poos in her pants again! I can't even think of what else to try, tried bribes, cajoling, loads of praise when she did it yesterday. :(

Calamityboo · 15/04/2012 15:40

come on Queen, you are only 5 days in, its ok Thanks I visited a friend of mine a few weeks ago and she was telling me how wonderful her dd was, such an easy one to potty train and she had been clean and dry for 6 months (friend is really nice, so probably true) low and behold, 'that' smell came wafting across the room, so bad she had to be cut out of her pants Grin Keep the faith, can't believe I am the one saing this, I was SOOOOO stresse about it yesterday, but today he has moved onto starting a wee in his pants, realising he is doing it, stopping, telling me and finishing it on the potty. So still lots of pants needed here, but I think it is going in the right direction!

QueenSconetta · 15/04/2012 16:38

Thanks Calamity, I know it could be worse, xx

QueenSconetta · 15/04/2012 18:06

Also glad going in the right direction for you Calamity, x.

Minshu · 15/04/2012 19:29

Glad to hear of progress with you guys. No improvement here today. Although we didn't resort to nappy mid afternoon, she did poo in her pants, then wee in fresh pants while standing between toilet and potty having not produced while sat on loo.

Calamityboo · 15/04/2012 19:52

I think Callum was a bit tired tonight, 15 mins trying to get him to pee on the potty, no success, and now he has pood himself :( a good day overall though, ready for another WineWine ladies?

Calamityboo · 15/04/2012 20:36

Ooh I think I was a bit tired too, you all know his name now Blush Actually while I am here, do any of you fel a bit crap about what we are doing? I mean it feels like I have not had any fun with him for 2 days as I have been so on edge, waiting to pounce with the potty all the time, now we have just had our usual bed time battle of 'no mummy no cup of milk today' now he is in bed, I am standing guard at the door otherwise he will not stay in bed, and in his bestest little wimpery voice I can hear 'please can I have milk mummy' I feel like such a horrible mum. Or is that just me? :(

Minshu · 15/04/2012 20:57

Oh, Calamity - that's exactly how I feel! I feel like an awful mother - have had none of the normal enjoyment of spending time with DD. I always had visions of me being a calm and reasonable mother, now am thinking DD and DP would be better off without me snapping at the pair of them :(

Am going to try to send DD to nursery in knickers tomorrow, then see what the feedback is at the end of the day. Will put the brakes on if it would be better for all of us, but if they (with their vast experience) think she is on the right track, we'll persevere. Her key worker was encouraging us to start when we discussed this last week.

Have had wine and am now eating some of DD's Easter Egg (will replace with buttons / magic stars, honest) Blush

Calamityboo · 15/04/2012 21:15

Grin Minshu, really, do you know how many buttons I currently owe the DS? It goes back years :) And I have absolutely no intention of replacing them, soon as I do I only end up eating the buggers again Shock

Really glad it is not just me feeling like this, I think I was on a bit of a high earlier, he did so well this morning, this afternoon was an absolute bloody disaster though :( I think that is a bit harsh, 2 accidental wees and a poo, he still did well, DS's playgroup have told me just to send him in, they are not bothered by accidents at all, and have been brilliant, I am sure your DD will be fine.

QueenSconetta · 15/04/2012 21:41

I can join the guilty Mum's club too. DD has taken to either blanking me or running away shouting no if I ask her if she needs the loo. I may have over done it I think ....

QueenSconetta · 15/04/2012 21:42

Also I am desperate for chocs and wine but am supposed to be slimming. Sigh.

Calamityboo · 15/04/2012 22:00

Come on Pee soaked Mummys club, we can do this!! Yes DC's might be ignoring us, and may have to be cut out of their pants sometimes after some BIG accidents, but they are doing well, we love them and it is nothing we cannot cure with a whole lot of Wine and [we need a cake emoticon] Grin

QueenSconetta · 16/04/2012 07:08

Dry night again, including a 2am shout for Mummy and toilet trip so that is great! Playing with friends today so that will be a test. PLEASE no poopy pants today!

Have a good day all.

QueenSconetta · 16/04/2012 07:09

Ps, you should be a motivational speaker Calamityboo, xx.

Calamityboo · 16/04/2012 09:17

:) thanks Queen, I think I was trying to motivate myself too! So far so good I think this morning. Still dry but not actually had a wee on the potty either. So jealous your DD sounds like she has realy taken to it!

QueenSconetta · 16/04/2012 10:30

OMG, she just asked for, then did a poo in the toilet! One swallow doesn't make a summer but I am so happy I could weep!

Hope going well for you all, x.

Calamityboo · 16/04/2012 12:21

I am wavering, eying up the last half pack of nappies in the corner, he is still realising 2 seconds too late that he has started a wee, then finishing it off on the potty, except earlier when he peed up my arm because we didnt get his things off in time, and then he peed in the car :( having sum bare bum time now, and he sat on the potty and did a lovely pee. Nappies are soooo much easier :(

Calamityboo · 16/04/2012 13:13

Back on the wagon, just had a BRILLIANT hour! Decidid to go bare bum for a while, we got one pee on the potty, then, I was in the kitchen and he shouted mummy poo, so I ran through with the kitchen towel, and there it was.....in the potty..... a little wee and a POO!!!!!!!!!! Feeling good again Grin

MousyMouse · 16/04/2012 13:16

don't worry, your ds sounds absolutely normal and lovely.
smarties as bribes work wonder (or whatever he likes) at least he did go to the potty a few times already...

MousyMouse · 16/04/2012 13:18

will start with dd soon, will do it similar to dc1, buy a pack of special night nappies and different day ones and telling her that when the day pack is empty there are no more...

tholeon · 16/04/2012 14:46

Well having stared this thread and in case it gives others hope six days in ds has had no accidents yet today and only one near miss yesterday. On the downside he now seems to have his hand permanently attached to his willy, and when I ask if it is because he needs a wee, he says no, it is because he likes it...

ewaczarlie · 16/04/2012 15:58

Tholeon that sounds like my DS! He's doing week on day 4 (no wee accidents but a poo In pants). But he's constantly playing with himself - he had his friends over this morning and at one stage was sitting on the couch showing off his willy after having taken off his bottoms! Hope he doesn't do that at nursery!!!

Calamityboo · 16/04/2012 16:12

Wow, theleon! That does give hope! I think we are doing well because he is in the same pants as this morning, and we had a dry nap!
