Blimey Jammy - you were up bloody early....was it the heat? Sorry about your throat....hope its improving.

Its so bloody hot here.....hate it. I have ceiling fans and a big air cooler but its so difficult to keep cool. Just staying at home for a few days if I can and using paddling pool etc.

Made £60 at the bootfair on Sunday so not bad but more importantly shifted LOADS of stuff. Not much fun getting up at 5am on a Sunday though.

Fury....I was involved in that childcare voucher thing and contacted my HR department about it. They said to me that I should request my salary to be paid in 9 equal monthly payments and then it wouldn't apply . Then I saw a bit about it on the news and the (I think) CBI are advising employers to pull out of the schemes as it could cost them thousands.....so I didn't pursue it as having the vouchers is more important to me than having 2 free ones during my mat leave IYSWIM. In my circumstances as well, each Trust does what they want, its not an NHS wide decision so I had to be careful not to jepordise my vouchers. Bastards.

Having a really shit time here atm. Changed my ADs to something that will be more effective from the ones I was on when pg and its like going cold turkey....having loads of panic attacks.....had to cancel osteopath yesterday and can't even get to the shops . E due for jabs tomorrow so don't know if I'll make it or not . Another week or so and I hope they will kick in. Didn't realise how bad my anxiety still was

camping was fine thanks, although foggy and damp. we were pitched next to 3 Alpha Dads on a "bonding" weekend with their boys (it involved the boys trying to set fire to things and burning themselves, the dads drinking red wine and becks, farting, pissing up the car wheel and calling the boys "darling" A LOT) we walked into Whitby on Saturday, approx 14 miles - our boys were brill, no complaining, lots more to tell, and pics to put on FB later

No, I wasn't up properly at 3.20, just had an hour of insomnia. Then went back to bed at 3.50 and slept until nearly 7, then helped get jamlet up and ready and back to bed for me from 8.15 until 11 Feel worse though, so back off to the GP now Might have to cancel jamlet's hospital appointment tomorrow; if I'm like this I won't feel up to taking her.

How do I deal with a depressed DH? my challenge for today is to get him to have a shave and dress tidily for presentation evening tonight (not GnT, but DS1 is getting an award for effort and attainment in history)

he didnt even check her ears.

im sorry a really high temp for 5 days, and needing ibuprofen AND calpol to get it down? and he didnt check for possible infections?

Natty, I don't think the rapid swelling is anything to be concerned about particularly, my MW said that heat will do that, but as for the other stuff I have no idea. Suggest NHS direct.

No idea about Ellen either, tbh DS was pretty sick, high temp etc a couple of weeks ago for over a week, the doc said HFM.

Natty, I had the swollen hands/feet thing when pg with ds, and it wasn't even that hot! If I was pg now I would have balloon hands! Even when not pg my extremities swell in the heat! It is very attractive! Hope you (and fury) are coping ok.

I have some 2 parters left if you are interested. Mostly bamboo terries (Bambineo/Bambinex) in blue, green and cream. I might have some others too, I'll have to rifle through my nappy box. Is there anything in particular you want?

Natty, i'm not surprisaed you haver swollen hands/feet this late in the day and in this heat. I had swollen hands especially which started to give me carpel tunnel syndrome. I was given some exercises to do every hour or so. Lift hands above head and circle wrists several times in each direction, clench fists and then splay fingers out like a star etc. I was also advised to try sleeping with arms above head on a pillow, or lying down like that in evening, to try to give hands a chance to drain.

good tips jammy am doing that now.

Oh Fury and Natty....I really don't you being heavily pg in this heat. Natty, swelling sounds like the heat - I've swollen badly both times. If your face swells suddenly then you call the mw. Hope Ellen improves soon.

I have been looking at the lack of posts on the old thread thinking everyone was having some sort of a life or melted in a puddle, and was about to post to that effect when I realised it was just full up!!

Natty, I was really bad with DD, but in the absense of headaches/visual disturbances, MW wasn't concerned. My BP did start to creep up a bit as well and the books said it was call the hopital levels but when I did they said it was still in normal range.

Call your CMW tomorrow and see what she says.

I have some itty bitty cutey fluffy cotton tots; nippa, size 1s in unbleached cotton, and some of their old style wraps as well as some Nature babies small wraps (from 6lbs) They're all on used nappies though, but I can pull the plug on them. Do you still want the Graco buggy?

still trying to convince DH about the double.. he thinks its a waste of money.
and of course still not got the funds, aas they lost my baby grant form, and new one has been sent in however they are running "up to three weeks behind"

I hope Ellen is better soon too. DD has been poorly this afternoon. She had a temperature and is really flat. I think she might have hayfever as her eyes have been all watery and she has a runny nose. She isn't eating either, just wants "milky milky" (suddenly she has started calling everything double ) and is troughing cold milk by the bucketful.

Norty sorry about the anxiety and I hope your new meds kick in soon.

Ria, well done to DS1 but for DH. You need to get him to talk to the doctor, who will understand. Considering everything that's been going on with his shoulder and being in constant pain, it's not surprising that he is feeling depressed.

I'm selling stuff as well; or trying to. I haven't taken any photos so can't do my listings. I need to take a pram out of the box, build it up just to take photos then repack it, all because I forgot to take any pics waaaaay back in February. I'm in all day waiting for a courier tomorrow so will get some done tomorrow. Selling DD's summer stuff before this heatwave passes . I'm getting a fully asssembled highchair tomorrow, which I have to send back afterwards . What they are going to do with a food spattered sedond hand chair I have no idea!

you have to stretch the nippas quite far to get them to grip. yes you can use pins but they can leave holes and affect your resale value!

DS1s evening weas reasonable as these things go. Obviously we are super proud of him (even though DH nearly murdered him when he was still in the bath after cricket - they lost again, and the entire team blamed DS as he has hayfever - 5 mins before we needed to leave) It only took 40 mins too, I was expecting to be there all night. We did leave before wine and cheese though. The GPs babysat at theirs and bathed the smaller ones, though they hadn't expected baggins to be so into scrubbing the tiles with his flannel and trying to bath grandad at the same time

I did nearly start a row disagree with DH earlier when I was trying to study and he put a film on (I have to take the boys out when he is studying). WE are going to an adult education evening on Thursday to look into lecturing/NVQ assessing (it's for DH, but if he thinks he's going for me to find out about teaching it'll be easier to get him there), I will watch him like a hawk and get him to the GP pronto if it doesn't pass in a day or two.

I just have to tell you this - last night it was the primary summer fayre, DS1 met us up there when his bus got in, and my friends child (who is 2/3 years yonger than DS1 but they used to be friends til DS1 outgrew it) said "HI DS1, how's my favourite bag of semen"!"!!

My sister isnt good at the moment - and has been admitted to hospital twice - she's had post natal depression/depression for the last 11 yrs and now has hit an all time low.
