June 2007 They're (almost all) two which makes them hard work in a whole new range of ways. But just as adorable!

Unable to sleep thought I'd see what had been going on and saw we were due a new thread. Hope this is OK?

Hi JBM....your poor sister ...hope she is ok.

Jammy - how are you feeling?

Daisy....don't assemble the pushchair just for a photo......go to the official website and nick a picture of it, save it to your desktop and use that. I do that all the time.

Nursery day today ....but don't know if I can get out yet.....shall keep myself busy I think!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/07/2009 08:36

Hi JBM, good tohear from you again. Hope your sis is OK.

I feel crap, but less crap than yesterday, so taking jamlet to the hospital. It's an eye check - we have a family history of squints and my eyes are particularly screwed up because of it, so I am keen to make sure there are no problems with her. (Have accepted that she'll almost certainly wear specs as both of us do, plus all her GPs and my brother and sister!) They saw her this time last year and this is a follow up.

Norty, good luck with getting out today!

Ahh, there you are

LackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2009 10:35

don't people want to see the photo of the actual pram you are selling though?

got a highchair this morning, with a letter asking for it back afterwards what on earth do they want manky food spattered chairs back for? the cushions are cream as well . Can't wait to see what it's like after bumble has finished his spag bol

hey jbm, long time no see . Sorry to hear about your sister, depression sucks

glad you are feeling better jammy, and hope you can get out of the house today Norty; it's a self perpetuating thing sometimes I find, can't go out because you feel too anxious and then wind up feeling anxious cos you are cooped up in the house. Take it easy

whingy poorly children here today. bumble hasn't stopped since 5am and DD is still a bit mizzy from yesterday.

Had a psychic moment with DD earlier. She was in the kitchen and I heard her yell out. My mouth flooded with saliva and it tasted bloody. when I went through she had cut the inside of her lip on a coke can she had dug out of the recycling bin

"do.do.do.do....do.do.do.do....you are now entering the twilight zone"

hot hot hot here today.....not pleasant at all.

I'm having a dodgy mole removed later; I hope it isn't too sore afterwards. I'm also flying solo tonight as DH is off to Holland to visit a cheese packing plant (oooh the glamour )

HellHathNoFury · 01/07/2009 11:01

Morning all, hello JBM, sorry to hear about your sis.

Jammy I didn't know kids had their eyes tested so young, oops

Damn, Foxy found us

I am definitely bored of work now. CANNOT get motivated. So instead am shopping on ebay and waitrose.

LittleMissNorty · 01/07/2009 11:05

Well I got out and E has had his jabs . So I can go and have some breakfast now. Felt reasonably ok so hopefully meds are beginning to take effect.

When I done highchairs last year Daisy, I kept all of them....are you M&B testing them?

Hope DD is ok after cutting her mouth Daisy....how odd...

If the pram is brand new, it will look like the picture on the website won't it?

Glad you are feeling a bit better Jammy

Too bloody hot here too

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 01/07/2009 11:09

I'm bloody hot and bothered! I've just put the washing away and hoovered and now I want to have a nap! You poor pg ladies, I'm just fat and feeling the heat!!

Hi JBM, hope you are well. Sorry about your sis, hope she is ok.

Daisy, who are you testing the highchair for? A bit daft asking for it back, maybe you could accidentally let a nappy leak on it ! Stingy bastards! Hope your mole removal goes ok and hope it's not too sore.

My dd had an eye test when she was two. Dp had a lazy eye when she was little, so they wanted to check her. I haven't bothered with ds though, his eyes are fine. If I get any concerns I will contact the testing centre, but he has lovely, healthy eyes that both face the same direction! They will only test littlies eyes if there is a family history of problems, so don't worry fury!

Hi fox x

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 01/07/2009 11:11

Daisy, if the pram is new then just use the pic from the website, though don't use them from the Mcare site. They are bastards and will get ebay to remove your listing!

Glad you got out norty and hope you are feeling better.

I'd better go and do something constructive before I park myself on the sofa all afternoon for the tennis!

Rialentless · 01/07/2009 11:13

ji JBM, for your sis. hope you are OK and manage your days jammy & norty.

feeling rough here - think it's after-effects of being tense about school thing last night.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2009 11:48

It was used for a week, but sat in the back room for a bit and DD played with the buckle so much the paint wore off the logo. There might still be a little muck on the wheels as well! If I say that in the ad will that be OK? I'm such an ebay novice. I had someone interested from Italy...was asking £280 deliverd and she changed her mind saying she wanted a new one! It is new you silly moo!!

Yes it's for the aw ards....can't mention the name but it's a swedish bent plywood affair. v stylish and does till adult like the tripp trapp.

Wanderingsheep · 01/07/2009 11:54

Hello .

Hope you're all ok and enjoying the hot weather! DD has been enjoying the paddling pool, but really struggling to sleep at night though.

Hope your sister is ok JBM.

Rialentless · 01/07/2009 12:52

just finished my ebaying (bigger tent fund), also selling my surplus 3 wheeler as I got another one of my £5 bargain buggies at the car boot sale on Sunday - it's a Chicco umbrella fold for use when I go out with Dsis as we can't get the other one in her car (also need a spare for when we are going away with my parents as they take the buggy in advance so we can all fit in the car). It was filthy but has cleaned up lovely, but I'm not allowed 3 pushchairs...

might as well put pics on FB as I'm sat here...

HellHathNoFury · 01/07/2009 13:26

COME ON FRIDAY

Mat leave beckons!

LittleMissNorty · 01/07/2009 13:27

are you counting the minutes Fury?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/07/2009 13:47

Oooh Fury, you never lnow your luck, I was force into premature mat leave on the Weds of my last week at work!

Really feeling for you and Natty this morning. I almost didn't make it back form town, I was so worn out walking in the sun! DH gave us a lift to the hospital (~7 miles away) and then we got the bus home after, but I'd said I would collect a parcel from post office for him, so had to get off the bus early to do that and walk the last mile. It almost killed me!

Jamlet's tests stem from me having squint as a youngster - I had weekly hospital visits from about age 3 to 5 and then monthly until about age 7 or 8. Cosmetically it's fine, but visually I see very little from one eye. So when I noticed she was squinting at about 6 or 9 months they made an appointment for just after her 1st birthday. They couldn't tell anything conclusive then so we went back today - and they think she may need glasses! They can see signs of her going a bit cross eyed at times and suspect it's because she is staining to focus on some things. So we go back in 2 weeks for them to put drops in and do some more tests

Glad you made it out Norty And shame about that high chair Daisy

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/07/2009 14:17

Oh and she passed some tests that I failed this morning!

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2009 15:03

Jammy, I have the same issues. Uncorrected squint/lazy eye that even now with glasses I can't see well out of. It's getting more complicated as I get older as well as my good eye gets worse than the bad eye!

Back from the docs intact. I was meant to be getting a mle removed but apparently since the appointment was made they aren't allowed to touch anything that may be skin cancer so I have to wait for a referral now! Looks like we'll get our money's worth out of DH's medical insurance

how hot is this? I put our clock out in the garden and it's registering 34 degrees in the sun and 32 in the shade . Fine for holidays this, but not when you have to go about your daily life DC are very cranky and bumble just wants to sit on me and cuddle in

DH said there was something on the radio about putting bowls of iced water in bedrooms which lowers the temp as the water evaporates. Worth a shot tonight.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2009 15:06

jammy, if they catch it early enough it may mean she might not need to wear glasses when she is older. My nephew had a squint and wore glasses when he was tiny, then had an op and he doesn't need them now at 24.

kids glasses are very funky these days as well; she can have even have peppa pig on them!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/07/2009 15:11

I'm not bothered if she ends up wearing glasses long term or not. I just want her to be able to see out both eyes properly!

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 01/07/2009 15:23

Oh Jammy....at least they caught it early.

Good idea about putting water in the DCs bedrooms. It was 28 in DSs room last night according to the monitor. He just slept in a nappy and 0.5 tog bag with both windows open and he was ok. If I left DD in only a nappy, she'd piss all over the bed, so she was in a shorts and t-shirt jammy set. Luckily I have a ceiling fan right over my bed

They've extended the heatwave warning down here ....I've had enough of it now.

HellHathNoFury · 01/07/2009 15:38

I just bought another aircon unit. expensive, but oh so worth it.

Jammy at least they have caught it early I suppose?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/07/2009 15:44

yes, time is on our side - there is a definite time window for establishing the connection properly between brain and eye. If it doesn't get sorted by a certain age it NEVER will. That's what happened to me. \there is very little wrong with my right eye technically, it's just the pathway to the brain isn't working properly so I can't see very well at all on that side because the brain doesn't get enough information through.

OP posts:
Sputnik · 01/07/2009 15:49

Pah you bunch of wimps in the heat! 32 degrees is nothing!
Wise ebayers, can any of you help with my question, here
I have had a couple of replies but still don't get it.

LittleMissNorty · 01/07/2009 15:50

sensible investment though Fury with a newborn in the house. I bought mine when expecting DD as I was worried about having a tiny baby in the house during the summer.

I am finding it ok to keep cool......providing I sit on my arse and watch the tennis

Sputnik · 01/07/2009 15:57

Sorry to hear about Jamlet, hope there's something they can do. We took DS to a specialist yesterday, he has a strange pokey out bit at the bottom of his rib cage, he needs to do x-rays now. Either it's something that'll correct itself or a piece of cartillage that will need removing, which I don't want to think about tbh. He also has a slightly wonky leg which will need special insoles to correct.

As you were, someone answered my question
