June 2007 They're (almost all) two which makes them hard work in a whole new range of ways. But just as adorable!

hey fairy'; me too, but I find keeping us contained in one room where the kids can wreak havoc and I can 'pooter quietly in the corner is working wonders!!

We should be out and about but we have all been choked with the cold. I had a horrible turn last night before bed; palpitations, sweating, dizzyness and a rush of heat from my feet to my head that if I'd been standing would have had me on the floor . I then felt woozy and agitated for ages and couldn't sleep. Have a head full of cotton wool this morning. So, our plans to get out and about today have been scuppered again.

TheNatty · 27/07/2009 10:46

sorry you are still poorly daisy sounds like your not getting better? trip to docs maybe?

i sold my old mobile phones on ebay and have promptly spent the money on a weenotions nappy order
oh well

charlie had me up only once last night, but then he mamouth fed from 7-10pm and then 3am, then 6-10am.. bloody hell!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/07/2009 12:41

Well done Charlie!

Hope you feel better soon Daisy. Sore throat and bad head going on here today Hope it doesn't get worse as I am meant to be visiting a sewage works tomorrow and don't want to miss out!

I agree that it has been very quiet around here of late. And where has Foxy been? - seems like an age since I saw her.

.....

, not really. Hope you're all better soon. I am a bit busy recently sorting new house out, not to mention the old one. Not made too much progress though.

LackaDAISYcal · 27/07/2009 19:07

feeling much better this evening, but poor bumble has it now
he has got a wee sore gravelly voice, bless him.

I am going deeemented with domains and e-stores and shit like that (which has kept me off MN . I have my domain, I have my e-shop, but I can't see how to connect the two, and don't want to replicate everything. Still, having fun playing with it all though. and realising I need to spend some money on something like photoshop or something in order to do logos and shit like that.

I have decided my name is going to be........

bumblebums

D'ye see what I've done there?

now tell me it's a good name or I'll cry!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/07/2009 20:32

I like the name Daisy

261 photos now being converted from RAW files to jpg. Then I can get some onto facebook - but I won't bore you with all of them, don't worry

Bumblebums sounds good
Ok, you need to find out the DNS for where you host your e-shop, it should be somewhere in the settings. Then go to your domain administration page and change the DNS to the DNS of your hoster. It might take a day or so to work. If you can't figure it out you can email me if you like and I'll take a look.

LackaDAISYcal · 27/07/2009 22:17

thanks sputnik...now once I have deciphered what you actually mean by that, I might take you up on it

I'm just playing at the minute, and finding my way round it all.

TheNatty · 28/07/2009 08:54

charlie slept 12-5.30 thats almost 6 hours!
must be a one off surely.

he has gone all chubby on me the last few days, hes got fat cheeks and he doesnt have chicken legs no more
HV coming this morning to weigh him so hopefully they will sign us off (i hate weighing babies, i can tell if he is gaining weight or not) and hopefully wont give me another bollocking about the fact i dont keep his red book in my changing bag!

TheNatty · 28/07/2009 11:22

i got bollocked for undressing him on the floor (changing table had stuff on it)
im really begining to not like the HV's round here.

charlie now weighs 8lb 14oz. so he has regained his birth weight AND put a whole pound on in three weeks.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/07/2009 12:54

Natty. And ignore those HVs! A lot of them should come with a health warning attached I reckon, for the amount of stress they cause!

Had a lovely trip to a sewage treatment works this morning

Now.
I know I sound like a broken record but I am often astounded at how much my 2 year old can eat.

1/2 a south african Ouma rusk
a banana
2 bowls cereal
2 slices toast
3 servings chicken korma
mixed fruit
1.5 ham sandwiches
melon slices
1 serving chicken and broccoli pie with wedges and carrots
2 yogurts
milk

Have switched weekly shops to Asda. Cannot afford sodding Waitrose any more. I hope that DS#2 is more... normal.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 28/07/2009 19:18

fat little fucker. Bless him.

LackaDAISYcal · 28/07/2009 19:45

lol fury, my DD would struggle to eat that in a week, let alone a day! she has the appetite of a sparrow.

Poorly DC today . Both bumble and Dd have sore gravelly voices that are making them cry out in pain every time they cough or sneeze . It's been calpol all round here.

took them all shopping today and was out from 9 until 2, by which time I was ready to nail DS1 to the next doorpost....but it's been a trying day for the wee soul; he managed to wiggle his wobbly tooth out, and was cleaning it before putting it under his pillow and dropped it down the plughole; he is distraught, so I convinced him to write a note to the tooth fairy and it would be all OK!

MakkaPakkasWilly · 28/07/2009 20:00

Sorry to hear the illness Daisy!
I read on FB you were ill.

I have a stomach bug. I have been on the loo about 8 times a day for 4 days now. I am drained and exhausted. Everything is going straight through.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/07/2009 20:03

Poor DS DAisy.

Your DS certainly does have a good appetite Fury. But in the photos I've seen he doesn't look too fat, just solid.

Nursery say that they've been concentrating on trying to help Jamlet with her speech, and that today she pointed to the sky and said "high" and to a whale in a book and said "fish" I heard her trying to say flower and road last week and at the weekend she tried to say duck when we saw a greetings card with one on She's slowly coming along with it.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/07/2009 20:03

Hope all illnesses hurry up and go away

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 28/07/2009 20:14

Jammy, has she had her two year check? If so, what had your HV to say about her speech? If not, is it worth making an appointment? I've said it before, but I was very slow to start talking and wasn't talking properly until I was about three. I knew it all, just didn't have much to say

and for all DD was quick off the mark, she has suddenly decided that she isn't going to talk at all. some of it must be down to her sore throat, but the rest of it is just bloody mindedness I think.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/07/2009 20:21

No, she's not had a 2 year check. We got a letter from the HV shortly before her birthday, basically saying hope things are OK, remember we are here, we will be in touch at some point. I've been umming and erring about whether or not to approach them for a while. I don't think it's a long term problem, I think she can manage without saying much, is maybe a bit lazy, and is going to take after me, and some others from my family (and Daisy) and just suddenly start talking one day and never shut up! She certainly was late with the walking but once she started she just did it, no tottering a few steps at a time about for her! So maybe it'll be the same with the talking? I think I'll give it a while longer though (unless they approach us) as I'm not sold on our HVs really and things are improving.

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 28/07/2009 20:32

why not put a call out for moondog or one of the other SALTs on here and ask for a bit of advice on it? Or is that just worrying it into a problem iyswim?

now.....I have 15mins to decide whether or not I want wine and sports mix.......decisions decisions decisions.

TheNatty · 28/07/2009 20:48

jammy sounds like things improving. ive also said this before, but tom was nearly 2 1/2 before he could put two words together.
he doesnt shut up now.

ellen is in nappys, and is using baby signing.. she is apparently 'a baby, and is toooo little' (with finger and thumb togther to show me just HOW little) to do anything herself...
i think its hilarious

Sputnik · 28/07/2009 20:51

Jammy your DD sounds pretty much at the same level with talking as my DS. He has just mastered "Bye Daddy" (very useful phrase around here). He is following in the footsteps of DD, and she was a late walker as well like your DD.
Anyway DD caught up quickly when she started and I think now has a bigger than average vocabulary. I think she is just a bit of a perfectionist!

MakkaPakkasWilly · 28/07/2009 20:53

DAISY

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/07/2009 21:09

That is cute Natty

And thanks for the reassurance. I am taking comfort in the fact that things get a little bit (hold finger and thumb together to show just how little ) better each week.

LackaDAISYcal · 28/07/2009 21:23

thanks makka . I'm on her mailing list so had already heard. Made me a bit nervous about my wee venture I can tell you!
