June 2007 They're (almost all) two which makes them hard work in a whole new range of ways. But just as adorable!

Unable to sleep thought I'd see what had been going on and saw we were due a new thread. Hope this is OK?

I still prefer the first one, but I'm a bit of a hippie, me
Offline all afternoon as it's been thundery so I have to unplug the modem. We've had so many frazzled by lightening.
It's raining, and quite cool :-P

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/07/2009 18:10

Me too, I'm a bit of a hippy and def prefer the La Redoute one. It looks like it would be more flattering and I love the combo of brown and turquoise!

Hope your babies are ok daisy. The last thing you need in this heat is poorly dcs .

I'm off into the depths (or heights) of my loft to retrieve more clothing for ebay. Anyone need anything whilst I'm up there?

Sputnik · 02/07/2009 18:17

i'D LOVE A MASSAGE, GOT ONE OF THOSE?
oops

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/07/2009 18:50

'Fraid not, but it's fricking hot up there! I nearly slipped on the ladder because my feet were so sweaty...ewwwww!!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/07/2009 18:51

I've just cracked open a bottle of Pinot Grigio, I feel so much better now!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/07/2009 18:54

Well, I did feel better until ds came in and started trying to steal the glass from me! He loves wine !

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2009 19:27

my little bumble is just sooooo miserable. I hate not being able to do anything. He was in bed but DS1 woke him up clattering around upstairs and he is just sitting on the floor sobbing quietly. Poor thing

It's too hot to move here. My house is a shithole as I can't do anything other then sit on the sofa with an arm around each little one and MN (my excuse and I'm sticking to it )

and it's a bloody training day tomorrow as well, so I have all three of them to entertain.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/07/2009 20:10

Poor bumble .

Sputnik · 02/07/2009 20:24

Poor thing

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2009 20:39

DD has gone to bed now and bumble is content to be sitting at my feet for the minute, but lol at knitting needles.

I've been buying more "designer" baby gear from ebay. Can't think why I haven't done this sooner. I've got some baby gap chino dungarees for bumble and some boden flowery jeans for DD, for 99p each!!

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2009 20:41

and it is HFM that they have....just waiting for bumble to get all spotty too!!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/07/2009 20:44

Well done on the bargains daisy! I really need to look for stuff for dd, but all the 3-4 and 4-5 stuff goes for quite a lot.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/07/2009 20:47

Is HFM really contagious? Does it mean you have to stay in for ages?

TheNatty · 02/07/2009 20:54

oh daisy that sounds awful!
i do hope they get better soon

i have had a friend coem to my rescue, i am going to stay the weekend at hers so if i go into labour i hop in a cab to my house and leave the kids with her.
saves me the worry of giving birth infront of the kids cos no one is answering the phone (is what nearly happend to thomas!!)

DH will be going in sat night not coming out till wednesday scary stuff bless him.

but it DOES mean we will both be better by mid august and we can squeeze in a mini weekend break to the beach or something. (given up idea of camping this year...)

Sputnik · 02/07/2009 21:38

That's good news Natty
Is it this weekend?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/07/2009 21:42

Sorry Daisy, sounds miserable in your house.

I just about got accused of animal abuse by our neighbour.(The one who moaned about jamlet crying to another neighbour, so possibly suspects us of child abuse too ). I had hoped that the bloke opposite would come and put some water down for our cat while we are away at the weekend so she has a nice supply of fresh water each day, but he can't. So I asked woman next door. She obviously wasn't keen and said I should leave a trough of water out in the garden. And when I explained that with no catflap our cat doesn't have free access to the garden she started on about how we couldn't go away then, the cat would die in a hot house and we would have to leave a door open . I protested that we couldn't leave a door open all weekend and she had a go about how people shouldn't have animals and then go away all the time, you either have the freedom or you have an animal and look after it. I told her very firmly that we do look after our cat but I was NOT leaving a door open all weekend, though I could of course leave some windows open, and thanked her reminding me of how hot it had been and the need to consider fresh air as well as water. I was fuming, but later after I had managed to find a friend who would come and give our cat water each morning (and the tomatos too, result!) I called back next door to tell her it was sorted, we had someone vlooking after the cat and of course would leave some windows open to ensure fresh air could circulate through the house. With a little lot of tongue biting from me we are still on speaking terms, and I have assured her the cat will be fine and therefore I hope I can stop worrying about her calling the RSPCA on me.

Sorry for long post, but I was very upset and had to get it off my chest.

Good news Natty

jammy your neighbour sounds like a right one! What a bloody cheek.

glad things are coming together for you natty.

holly, it is horribly contagious, and the virus can live in stools for a month, but doic said no need to hide away as it's a mild illness. Not sure folks round here would thank me for spreading it around though so we're going to give stay and play a miss tomorrow.

bumble is still up, but i think this is more to do with the fact he has realised he can exercise a certain amount of control over his wee world than because he is poorly. He is rubbing his eyes and keeps nodding off, but just wont give in to sleep. I tried to put him down about an hour ago and he just shouted and when I went in and picked him up again he was grinning and giggling.

Still gives me a good excuse for not having done any washing up since yesterday!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/07/2009 22:39

Thanks Daisy. i did feel bad that I had left it until today to sort out, but I was too ill earlier in the week. And I had forgotten about the heat - but how often is it a problem in the UK? And to insist I should leave a door open all weekend was just potty! She said better that than having an animal die. Well, I really really don't want our cat to die, of course (which was why I was biting my tongue and sucking up to her), but equally I really really don't want to have our whole house ransacked and then have short shrift from the insurance people when they hear the door was open for the cat!

Right, night all, have lovely weekends (Natty, don't you dare pop!) and I'll be back Monday evening.

OP posts:
Rialentless · 02/07/2009 22:56

have a lovely time jammy, can you teach your cat to poo in her garden? the she'll want him/her keeping in!

glad you're sorted Natty. My MW did tell me that subsequent babies know when it's convenient to make an appearance

I think for this wedding I prefer the brown dress, but I long to own a monsoon dress. I just have a problem in that my upper arms and shoulders are luminous white and never likely to be as brown as my forearms, so I thin strappy is not the way to go. given that I have just eaten a large bag of crisps I'll be needing a marquee anyway

LittleMissNorty · 03/07/2009 09:03

Have a lovely time Jammy.....we loved St Andrews....DH was like a big kid walking round the golf course

Thank god the weather has broken. I was woken at 3am by a absolutely sopping wet cat howling, then jumping on the bed . Still muggy but downhill from here

LackaDAISYcal · 03/07/2009 11:30

yay raining here as well....although we were going to go to the park this afternoon.

still, we have waterproofs!!

if I can drag my lazy ass off the sofa for a shower that is..

LittleMissNorty · 03/07/2009 11:37

How are the DCs Daisy? Any better?

HellHathNoFury · 03/07/2009 11:56

have a nice time Jammy

Ignore the neighbour, none of her business!
herethis might help for next time though, my friend has one as she goes away a lot and her cats are indoor cats.

Daisy, DS had HFM since about 19th june.. he's STILL not quite right
