oooggs · 25/03/2009 10:44

Luke went 9pm - 4am probably a one off as all the rest have been bad sleepers

StealthPolarBear · 25/03/2009 10:48

Wow! That's really good, hope it is the start of a routine!

OP posts:
Eddas · 25/03/2009 11:14

happy birthday Leo

As others have said, I cannot believe they are 2 my ds along with lots of others is 2 on Easter Monday, should be a busy weekend full of chocolate and presents

SPB glad T ate, but more importantly slept through

Wow to L sleeping for so long oooggs sounds like all is manic with you as usual!

Hi claire welcome to the madness I have ds who's 13th April and dd who will be 5 in June, I live in Kent

In Eddas news, ds ate toast

dd is still loving school and comes home with lots of stories, if you're on FB sorry to repeat myself but I think her quote of yesterday was very amusing so i will share here too

dd to me 'Mummy I have some bad news Jesus is going to die, but don't worry the Easter bunny saves him'

that's why I had children

Bramshott · 25/03/2009 11:57

Eddas - that's nearly as good as N's from a couple of years ago: "Baby Jesus ate a hot cross bun and then he died"

StealthPolarBear · 25/03/2009 11:59

pmsl at the mixed easter messages!

OP posts:
cazboldy · 25/03/2009 12:27

Bramshott PMSL

Eddas - oh bless her " Mummy I have some bad news!"

I read in Harrys literacy book last night

" My Mummy's job is doing everything. she cooks the tea, cleans up, does the washing, and cuddles Molly and feeds the animals. All Daddy does is play with the tractors, and falls asleep."

MJreturns · 25/03/2009 12:45

Eddas, ds will start sentences like that sometimes! I think it's because when they do morning assembly they have their good news and their sad news! Sad news can be anything from someone moving away or being unwell, to a broken branch on a tree in the playground!!

Happy birthday Leo

Hi Claire, welcome to the fold My April baby arrived a couple of days early on March 28th so she will be 2 this weekend. Her name is Ffion. I also have ds who will be 6 in May.

SPB, glad T finally slept through the night

Oooggs, long may L continue such good sleeping habits

I am absolutely exhausted today (and I feel like a total fraud saying that after just having left a message for oooggs!). I am eating far too much crap and really need to look after myself a bit better I think.

MJreturns · 25/03/2009 12:46

And PMSL at Harry's book Caz! So funny, but so true

Sexonlegs · 25/03/2009 13:34

Afternoon ladies

Thanks for the new thread SPB, and good news re T's eating and sleeping

Oooggs, a good night in your house too. Long may it continue!

Hi MJ, ikwym re eating loads of crap. I am sat here stuffing Pringles

Lol at all the "sad news" and other comments. Bless 'em!

Hope everyone is doing ok.

All ok here. K after having no milk last night was really wakeful last night, and really red-faced. She was as right as rain this morning though. V strange.

elkiedee · 25/03/2009 15:19

Love the stories about kids' understanding of Easter.

The weird threads problem was across postnatal - apparently it was due to something missing from the layout.

Yesterday I had my postnatal appt with my/the babies' GP and was really ticked off as it seems the hospital paediatricians had contacted her about me (I think probably when I was in there with Conor). She said it was about stuff I've discussed with her before. I have a stutter which gets a lot worse when I'm stressed, which of course includes discussions with hospital doctors who believe I'm not feeding/caring for my babies properly. I also get very panicky and can't remember what I should be saying so either go all quiet or completely incoherent, and again it gets worse when I'm upset. I felt like there's a whole discussion of me being an unfit mother.

I'm still none too happy about all that stuff, but at least today C's registration/intial check up with our GP was much more positive - generally the GP seemed very happy with what she saw. She also seemed pleased with his weight gain, which was much better than last week, and only asked if I was giving him formula, didn't seem to think I should be.

elkiedee · 25/03/2009 15:19

Happy birthday Leo!

StealthPolarBear · 25/03/2009 15:22

oh elkie What exactly did she say? You don't think it was a general reporting back to the GP? Whatever she heard obviously didn't concern her at all - excellent news about his checkup today.

OP posts:
elkiedee · 25/03/2009 15:50

Well, she (the GP) had been asked to talk to me about some sort of assessment. I'm a bit puzzled by the whole thing and annoyed that they didn't talk to me about it rather than asking her to do so!

Bramshott · 25/03/2009 18:17

Caz / Mammyjo - okay so I have this pot thingy from the doctors, with a wooden spatula, but there's also some sort of bit of gauzey padded white stuff in there - what am I supposed to do with that?!?

What would I do without you?!?!

MJreturns · 25/03/2009 19:45

Bramshott, not sure about the gauze (never seen that in a pot for poo before!) unless it is to catch a bit on perhaps. All you need to do is get N to go (on a potty would be the easiest if she will do it for you), then get your spatula and scoop a little bit out and put it in the pot. That's it, job done!

MJreturns · 25/03/2009 19:49

Elkie, I am really glad to hear that the GP was happy with C today. She probably felt that she had to ask how things were if another health professional had spoken to her about you, but she clearly has no issues herself so try not to worry about it too much.
I think people (and by people I mean nurses/doctors/HV's etc) are so worried about not doing something when they should have that they often go too far the other way iykwim.
You are obviously doing a great job and C is thriving so try and concentrate on enjoying your two gorgeous little boys

CaptainDippy · 25/03/2009 20:29

Evening!

Caz, absolutely PMSL at this ......

"My Mummy's job is doing everything. she cooks the tea, cleans up, does the washing, and cuddles Molly and feeds the animals. All Daddy does is play with the tractors, and falls asleep."

Classic!

DD1's latest is: "Mummy, why is daddy wearing sandals? (he's had an op on his toe recently) .... Jesus wears sandals."

My plain speaking little DD2 came out with a classic too while we were explaining that we needed to give outlaws car back (have been borrowing it while they were on holiday) We explained that we both needed to drive to our home and each drive one of the cars back to outlaws ....

"No need for that, silly. Just get some rope, tie one end to our car and tie the other to grandma and papa's car and then pull it. That way we can all stay in the same car together"

Not bad for a little girl who is not even four yet!! Logical little thing

Phoebe on the other hand mainly says bubble.

Happy poo catching Bramshott. Gauze is just to protect sample.

leakyR · 25/03/2009 21:03

Elkie - Good that the GP was happy with C today, but awful that you're feeling so stressed and under pressure because of the way you've been treated. You are doing a good job and are obviously devoted to your boys.

Welcome Claire. I'm Lesley and my 1st ds George was born April 12 '07. Live in Lancashire and expecting dc2 in late April/ early May.

Home from our visit to the ILs in the North East today. Hoping G settles and sleeps tonight. Had 2 terrible nights with him. One where we spent 5 hrs in a single bed in spare room - not a good idea when you're 34 weeks pg!

SIL got some awful news at hospital yesterday. She is about 13 weeks and results of CVS show that the foetus has such severe problems that the pregnancy is not viable. She will find out on Friday what happens next. This is her the 3rd time she has lost a baby. I can't begin to understand how she must be feeling. ILs went straight down to London this morning to help with Eva, as SIL has been told not to do any lifting and obviously Eva is still not mobile.
DH in london for work yesterday and today and had a meal with SIL and BIL last night. He says she is doing amazingly well.

Off to bed soon. NCT coffee here in the morning. i need to tidy before other peoples kids come round and make a mess
