oh yes SOL so very sorry I didnt comment on your fantastic news You must be so relieved and happy

liath · 22/04/2009 08:11

Wonderful news, SOL. Bet you're looking forward to that cruise now!

Caz, hope the pony is OK. My old horse was always very prone to laminitis, it was such a nightmare at this time of year - I remember the obsessive hoof-checking .

Leaky, hope you had a settled night!

Glorious day here again so am off to a local country park to wear the kids out on their bikes .

Doobydoo · 22/04/2009 08:41

< waves at all former antenatal buddies >

Woah! 2!! Time doesn't arf fly... 2 is a mixed blessing lovely age.

For any that don't know already, I am pregnant again at long last- now 23 weeks (due in August) and everything looking good. I've seen a few of you ladies around MN, and you've all been so sweet to me. Just thought I'd drop in and update.

Sexonlegs · 22/04/2009 09:45

Duchesse, truly wonderful news! Congratulations!! How have you been feeling?

Hi Dooby, how did ds1 get on at school?

duchesse · 22/04/2009 09:54

SoL, thanks. I've been really really well, a little nauseous in the evenings, and excessively sharp sense of smell, which is a pain. Quite unlike the last time- I've never felt so bad as I did during that pregnancy, but I think neural tube defects are supposed to make you feel worse due to large amounts of AFP escaping.

oooggs · 22/04/2009 10:44

leaky - hope you ok, it is hard being pregnant with a toddler (or two )

sol - FANTASTIC NEWS

duchesse - congrags

caz - a baby and a 5 year old sharing our room is the best method of contraception here

mj - hope you are ok

excuse typing - feeding L

will say more when hands free!!!

Bramshott · 22/04/2009 13:27

Great to see you Duchesse - thanks for letting us know. Congratulations!!

SOL - that's really great news about your mum.

Well after reading many threads on here, I ordered a Mooncup and am trying it for the first time today. And it really does work! . When it arrived it looked bloody massive and there was me thinking "how on earth am I going to get that in and then out again", but I just folded it up, shoved it in and it vanished (obviously more bucket-like down there than I thought!). Getting it out was fine too and no leaks. Early days, but I am pleasantly surprised so far!

elkiedee · 22/04/2009 18:38

Congratulations Duchesse

Enjoyed your review of the Mooncup Bramshott

Doobydoo · 22/04/2009 19:02

Congrats Duchesse
V.interesting re mooncup Bramshott.
Struggling abit...can anyone tell me why a child gets extra marks for 'joined up writing?'
Surely content more important???
Stephen Hawking can't even write![to name but one brilliant person].xx

CaptainDippy · 22/04/2009 19:55

Bramshott - another Mooncupper coming out of the closet here. Have to say, I tihnk they are maaaarvellous!!

SOL, wonderful news, am delighted for you!!!!!!!

Oh Caz, poor pony - don't feel guilty, like NL said, you've everything "by the book" so to speak. xx

I'm tired, DH and I arguing lots, crapiness.....

CaptainDippy · 22/04/2009 19:59

Soooo lovely to "see" Duchesse - thank you for popping by

runnyhabbit · 22/04/2009 20:34

Evening all

SOL - Fab news for you
Duchesse - Lovely to see you, and congratulations
Caz - Fingers crossed
Elkie - I bought that ClareBC book when I had W. But obv by then I had also "discovered" MN, so was confident enough to pick and choose what worked for me.

As for mooncups...I'm am probably going to order one

I've looked on the website, and is the chart sizing right?

oooggs · 22/04/2009 22:37

oh yuk - thankfully those dreaded things haven't returned yet

dooby - I have no idea, I would have thought content as well, by GCSE it has to be typed anyway (I think)

Luke is a dream, he is content, sleeps and feeds well. It he was our first I would be heading for number two by now. Why did I have to go through 3 to get a dream baby?

I have been sent a letter to go to a weaning talk (when L is 16 weeks) thought I may pop along and plead PFB to see how I should have done it with the other 3

Claire2009 · 22/04/2009 23:17

Hi all,

Sorry I keep popping in/out I'll try to stay for good now if thats ok?

Well, Joe is no better with his speech & the phn I saw today is talking about teaching him some sign so I am off to another M&T on Fri morning which is for 'slower' children that need that bit more help, apparently there's only 4-5 parents with Children there but it should be interesting!
He is understanding me, which makes me think it isnt hearing related, but he falls over an awful lot he took a bad fall today, was running too fast slipped and fell and skidded his face across the concrete path He's ok but has a nasty graze up his face!

I'll post a link from my online album of him & Morgane, I cant seem to set a profile up here. Have tried & made it available to all but it didnt work!

Oooggs, Just reading you're last post, thats great Luke is a dream baby
Will try to catch up with everything else going on!

M & J seem to be fighting a lot more than usual lately, M says mid battle with J "Your not my friend anymore" and he'll hit her, to which he ends on the naughty step but I am confused as to whether I am doing the right thing or not!?!?

Right, will fetch the link to pics

Claire2009 · 22/04/2009 23:23

Happy Birthday Dylan
oooggs lol at you going on a weaning talk!
caz, how's the pony?
Hi Claire. Sorry you're still hvaing stress with J's speech, hope you get some useful help. Will look at pictures when I'm not meant to be working
About the profile, it does sometimes take a few minutes to get going - have you turned it off again? Might be worth turning it on and waiting a while?

CaptainDippy · 23/04/2009 09:54

Morning

Happy Birthday to Dylan!!

Sweet pics, Claire .... what exactly is the problem with Joe's speech? My DD3 is 2 next week and isn't really saying all that much at all; but no one is worried. My DD1 was the same , whereas my DD2 was talking in full sentences by 2, easily. They are all different. Hope the "experts" can shed some light on this for you sweetheart.

How is the pony today Caz?

Bramshott · 23/04/2009 16:05

Re Mooncup - I have the bigger size and thought it looked huge when it came, but as I say, I just folded it up and it vanished !!

Dooby - not sure about joined up writing, although N is already being encouraged to do it in Yr 1. I guess the theory is that they have to master it at some point, and that some of the marks awarded are for presentation as well as for content. You would have thought they would make allowances for someone just arrived from another country and a different school system though .

leakyR · 23/04/2009 16:11

Happy Birthday Dylan!

Lovely photos Claire.

Congratulations Duchesse

How's the pony Caz? Won't you know until tomorrow?

Still getting niggly pains but think there'll be no baby action until next week. Don't ask me why I think this. Just a feeling.

Dh was sooooo drunk on Tuesday when he got home. I was a bit banished him to the spare bed with " You'll be no (very rude word) to me if I go into labour tonight" ringing in his ears. On top of all that G had a classic starting-a-cold clingy, wakeful night.

Yesterday a man came to lay vinyl flooring in our new bathroom. After 2 hours he came downstairs (I was in the garden with G) and said he'd done something stupid. He had laid the flooring upside down! It's plain white slightly textured flooring. Top side is currently facing the floorboards!! He said they'd have to reorder the flooring and re-lay next week. then he left.
I went upstairs to find the old flooring and hardboard, with huge old nails sticking out at the top of the stairs. All the trimmings fron the new vinyl lying on the floor in the bathroom. Old vinyl tiles in my brand new bath, a big cardboard tube and sheets of plastic in my spare room. The cheeky, incompetent bugger hadn't even cleared up after himself. I was furious!!!!!! Any idiot (well maybe not any) can see how pregannt I am, also the maruding toddler is a bit hard to miss. I had to ring dh and get him to call the shop to complain. I was worried I might swear (or go into labour). Following dh's call, the same bloke came back later to clear up. No apology! Nothing!

Calmer today. Been to an NCT coffee and Rhythm time today. G took a spill in Tesco and ended up with a nosebleed after face-planting the floor. He's fine now. Snoozing.

elkiedee · 23/04/2009 17:37

Ooh, what a useless floor laying person Leaky. You'd think knowing which way up it should go, and clearing up, would be part of the job. What did the shop say when your husband rang up? (We got new flooring before Danny was born and we had issues and the guy who did it no longer works for the shop we bought it from, but he wasn't that bad).

I hope he does a better job when he comes back, and that you don't go into labour the day he's there.

Happy birthday Dylan.
