So sorry for your SIL Leaky. Not been there exactly, but have had CVS with C and that was scary enough, still not sure how I would have dealt with a bad result.

I have frightened off Claire living so close!!!

CaptainDippy · 26/03/2009 18:32

I'd be scared too oooggs

I am shattered - how's everyone else??

leakyR · 26/03/2009 21:42

Also shattered, achey back and feel like an elephant.

Off upstairs to hug my husband, who came home tonight

Pesha · 26/03/2009 22:07

Hello!!!

Hae not caught up at all but have not posted for so long because I have not caught up and don't want to come on and just talk about me so I think 'I'll catch up and then post' but either I read and then don't have time to post or just think I don't have time to read it all now so I'll come back tomorrow but tomorrow is always just the same!

So I am posting cluelessly or I realise I never will!

So - how is everyone?! And how are all the lovely toddlers babies?

Dyaln is absolutely adorable and such a little cutey! He is talking loads and can now recognise and name over 15 of the Thomas the Tank Engine characters, he is completely obsessed!! He is also incredibly determined and stubborn and is NOT a child who can be distracted out of a strop! Luckily hes also a very cheery little boy so its not too much of a problem! Oh if anyone is planning a Thomas party the website Thomas Rocks has lots of party plates, cups etc very cheap!

Nathan just had parents' evening and is doing brilliantly at school. His writing is average (which is betterthan mine! ) but his Maths and reading are 'top' (top of what I'm not quite sure but it sounds promising!), she also said how kind and caring he still is, to the point of sometimes forcing his concern on people! And is very sociable and popular. I amn so proud and so very very relieved after the problems over the summer and he is just so much happier out of school too and goes into school quite happily every morning so its fab!

Maia also had an excellent school report and has apparemtly increased her writing/spelling level by 17 months in the last 6 months which is brilliant. She is still hard work and prone to whingy/stroppy/rudeness but getting better and I am trying much harder to handle it better and guide her into niceness again! I have to say I blame her dad messing her around so much for quite a lot of it, I think its the insecurity and confusion so I am trying very hard to be more understanding of it and more patient. I don't always manage but I am trying!!!

I am in the middle of registering to be a childminder and getting quite excited about it now! I don't think I said before but after having so much trouble sorting childcare and then talking to another CM who told me how much demand there was it seemed like the logical solution. I have done huge amounts of tidying and organising in the house and all the toys are now organised into type! I have a course on the new EYFS on the 20th April as I did my ICP (Introduction to Childminding Practice course) when I was pg with Dylan which was before they brought the EYFS in. And then the following evening I have my ICP exam at the same place near Taunton. I'm hoping to get all my forms sent off next week so should be registered in about 3 months time.

The down side of this is that I have accepted I have to sell my beautiful, sexy little car and buy a gert great big ploddy people carrier AND my car is now worth HALF what it was when I bought it last May But luckily so are most cars so hoping we can get quite a nice Grand Scenic with a key card and push button start so I can pretend its a sports car!

Pesha · 26/03/2009 22:09

What a huge post and what a lot of typos

Claire2009 · 26/03/2009 22:13

Ohh sorry girls I lost the thread! Its just arrived on Active threads again! yay!

Ooogs! Wow! So close! You haven't frightened me... honest! What nursery do your dc go to? I live in Higher St Budeaux so not far at all! Go to Saltash fairly regular as I have friends there

Thanks for the welcomes! Will try to stay with you all now!

Claire2009 · 26/03/2009 22:16

Ooogs I noseyed at your profile, for some reason I am recognising your DD
Do you go to any M&T groups nearby?

elkiedee · 26/03/2009 22:55

Lovely to hear from you Pesha, glad to hear Maia and Nathan are doing so well at school. Hope becoming a childminder goes well for you.

The hospital appointment today went brilliantly - we saw the consultant we saw most of when C was back in the hospital, and she's very satisfied with his weight gain, and feels they don't need to see him again for 2/3 months and that they're happy for us to just see the health visitor locally. So I am very relieved and happy after all my fretting.

Pesha · 26/03/2009 23:35

Oh Elkie thats fantastic news, so pleased for you

AngeG · 27/03/2009 09:27

Hello there Strangers

Popping in to wish Orla, Zed and Lola and Daniel happy second birthday! Where have the last two years gone!

Welcome Claire

Elkie - That's fantastic news, you must be relieved to miss some hospital visits for a while.

Hello Pesha (a fellow stranger)
Fantastic news about the school reports, you must be so pleased. Brave lady doing child minding! I've got a Grand Scenic and I just love the push button start and the automatic handbrake...I could go on

Oooggs - Hope L's jabs were ok and your checks! You're a superstar!

Eddas PMSL at DD and the bad news!!

Leaky - So sorry for your SIL and BIL and you all. Thinking of you x

Forgotten everything else sorry!

Izzy is a busy bee but great fun, she talks all the time probably as much as Jake if not more!! can't believe she's going to be 2

Off away for the weekend to a posh ladies night in Stratford. DC staying with my wonderful Mum and Dad, bit worried about Izzy as she's still having mummy milk morning and night. She's ok when she goes there for one night so I'm hoping it will carry on!

Better go and pack. Love to you all xxx

runnyhabbit · 27/03/2009 21:39

Evening all

All this talk of Thomas ...you might be interested in this And we've booked to go on W actual birthday. Not quite sure who will be the most excited, lol

runnyhabbit · 27/03/2009 21:42

I'm trying to find an adult Sportacus costume for dh to wear to the boys party. He reckons I won't be able to find one, so has been happy to humour me - so now I'm on a mission...although....it will mean I have to dress up as Stephanie
J can't decide between Spiderman or Ben 10, and W will be Igglepiggle or Thomas

Good to see you pesha and you ange...and everyone else[grn]

elkiedee · 27/03/2009 22:35

oops, hope all the birthday babies had/have a great time on the day and in any celebrations

runny, hope you'll post photos!
