I love radio 2 ! But I have found myself strangely drawn to radio 4 lately . My old ears hurt when I listen to radio 1 these days.

Well done SPB! I keep meaning to clean the blinds (& have been since we moved in 4 years ago......).

I was at a training afternoon today for my breast feeding Peer Supporting and they were talking about this new DVD that all pregnant women should get. They played part of it and there was weeonion!! So she's inspiring breast feeders across the UK !

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2009 17:58

When will I get that? Will watch out for her (but will have to be told when she appears!)
Tenerife (and free babysitters) sounds good GM!

Liath - I was in it too - just... in the pool. Is there any chance you could get me a copy?

elkiedee · 01/04/2009 19:36

Am I going to have to have another baby just to get a copy of this DVD? No, I didn't say that, what am I talking about? I met up with a friend who's only a few months younger than me today, has 2 boys 18 months apart, and was telling me she wants 4 although her dh has only agreed to try for a 3rd at the moment.

Our radios are tuned to Radio 4 pretty permanently, I tend to listen to the ipod on speakers if I want music. There was a spoken word digital radio station called Oneword which I used to listen to a lot - serialisations of books with each episode about 3 times in 24 hours, and interviews with writers every day, but it shut down, perhaps not surprising since they only had one advertiser, it seemed. I've listened to Radio 2 more than Radio 1 in the last few years, but generally neither appeal to me that much.

CaptainDippy · 01/04/2009 19:43

I got 2 copies GM so can give you the spare. There's a load of footage of her feeding in the Kelvingrove museum.

CD are you up the spout again ??

leakyR · 01/04/2009 21:39

Go on CD 4 is a nice even number

SIL is doing really well considering everything. Dh spoke to her and his mum today.I'm at a loss to know what to say - I'm in that "baby zone" at the end of pregnancy and just keep weeping when I think of what has happened. Sent some flowers today and got a sweet thank you text from SIL.

I bravely drove to Piccadilly station in Manchester to pick up my mam today. I only argued with the sat nav a couple of times G is loving having gran here but might be slightly overstimulated. Put to bed at 1930 at 2050 he was still singing and chuntering away to himself in the cot. I hope this means a lie in tomorrow.

6Music on digital radio at home.I like Shaun Keaveny in the morning, Adam and Joe Sat morning and Jon Richardson on a Sunday. Mostly the exceptioanlly cheesy 106.1 Rock Radio in car. It's "Manchester's first classic rock station" so wrong it's right.
.
MJ the birth pool is a la bassine. Pretty compact 165cm by 135cm, but I'm a shortarse person so it should be fine

Bramshott · 02/04/2009 09:14

So sorry to hear about your SIL and BIL Leaky .

We are a wall-to-wall Radio 4 household here, with an occasionaly smattering of Radio 3, and Classic FM in the car (although professionally I shouldn't admit to that !). N would rather have local radio though, and retunes to crappy local stations every time she sits in the front!

oooggs · 02/04/2009 11:32

We listen to local radio here dh puts radio 2 on in the car when we loose reception of our local radio. I then fiddle until I find something else I would rather listen to nursery rhymes.

I am too old for radio 1 though

CaptainDippy · 02/04/2009 12:32

We listen to all sorts of different radio stations here; sometimes local radio, Radio 1, 2 & 4. All good

Did G lie in this morning Leaky?? DD1 was up at 5am!!!!!!!!!!!

No I am not pregnant!! I am not having any more!!!!

DH & I defintiely going for adoption though

Right, need to go and get DD2 from pre-school, deliver to nursery, go for lunch with friend, pick up DD1 from school and go swimming, then tea, bath, bed .... feeling exhausted just thinking about it!! Think I am out tonight too!!!!?

Sexonlegs · 02/04/2009 14:00

Afternoon

Loving this Radio debate! I am a Radio 2 fan through and through Hate Radio 1, and our local radio station is just embarrassingly awful imo.

Anyway, how is everyone?

Leaky, your sil and family sound so brave. Thinking about you all.

Bramshott, wondered how the trip to the GP with dd1 had been??

Dippy, your day sounds as manic as ever!

Nowt much to report here, other than I have signed up to do Race for Life! Anyone want to sponsor me?? Dh has drawn me up a bloody training schedule!!

StealthPolarBear · 02/04/2009 17:33

leaky, thinking about your SIL

CaptainDippy · 02/04/2009 19:06

Not a belated April Fool. We're going to start the process in the next couple of months. Looking to adopt a 3-ish year old!!

StealthPolarBear · 02/04/2009 19:08

That's lovely!!
Wow - you could have prepared us a bit!

OP posts:
elkiedee · 02/04/2009 19:54

Ooh Dippy, that sounds interesting. I think that's even braver than planning to ttc a 4th baby. Hope you'll keep us posted on how it's going.

runnyhabbit · 02/04/2009 20:38

CD - fab news about adoption

And as for you oooggs - you def not too old for Radio 1 Granted there are a few dj who get on my wick, but love Chris Moyles, Jo Whiley (esp the live lounge) and Scott Mills. And Sara Cox. pmsl laughing when she's on, because she talks how I think

Radio 2 just seems so...I dunno....too grown up for me (in my head I am still 22 though )

StealthPolarBear · 02/04/2009 20:57

I like radio 2 for TW's voice. I tune out what he's saying and just listen to his accent. I also really like the traffic reports - love how they cram the whole of the UK into about a minute.
Sad I know
Not actually that bothered about the music they play

OP posts:
Sexonlegs · 02/04/2009 22:11

Absolutely pmsl at the Radio debate that still rages on

Night all x
