Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi all,

Captain, Well...everyone seems worried (the "experts") & I have voiced my worries over his lack of speech too...I've had a lot of people say that he will get there in his own time & I think he will but these are like "just incase steps" or something
He's so different to how Morgane was, I know I shouldn't compare but it's hard not too he's surrounded by girls (Morgane & 2 nieces) and we go to M&T on Tues/Weds/Thurs/Fri and he has Playschool on Mon afternoons so he's hardly short of interaction iukwim...

Happy Birthday Dylan, Hope he has a fab day! Joe was 2 last Saturday just gone and we had a small party and went to the zoo for the day which he loved!

Leaky, Oh god, he layed the flooring upside down & left all that mess! I hope he can manage a proper job when he comes back next time! How many weeks preg are you?

CaptainDippy · 23/04/2009 19:31

@ that incompetant twat Leaky, glad he clear up though - he should've bloody apologised too!!!!!

leakyR · 23/04/2009 20:38

I'm 38 weeks pg today Claire. My friend's ds was similar to J at that age. His speech delay did turn out to be hearing related.

I'm kind of hoping that I've had the baby before they come back to lay floor so that dh can keep a beady eye on him. He didn't seem like the sharpest tool in the box when he came to measure up for hardboard (for under the flooring). I thought I was being harsh at the time but it turns out I wasn't The lovely guy who fitted our bathroom, tidied his stuff and hoovered at the end of each day.Surely it's just part of the job?

Have just been to Asda to buy cheap shower curtains for homebirth. Fingers crossed that nothing happens baby-wise tomorrow or Saturday as the in-laws are visiting. FIL has a medical phobia like dh and MIL does not approve of my decision to have hb (only told dh, not me - wonder why?)

Claire2009 · 23/04/2009 20:41

Wow Leaky a hb! Fantastic!

I've got some olive oil from the Pharmacy (Pharmacy wouldn't give anything but that, he made the little bottle up )earlier as J has very very waxy ears but I can't get it out and won't poke around with the bud so will do this & hope it loosens the wax and perhaps helps him!

Leaky, Cleanliness is pride in work also..this man that done the dodgy job on your floor obviously had none!

Sexonlegs · 23/04/2009 20:50

Evening all

Claire, lovely pics Glad J had a good birthday. My dd2 who turned 2 on Monday doesn't say much; well she does, but not much of it is understandable. She totally understands everything and follows instruction without me pointing or anything. Dd1 on the other hand was very articulate early on and was potty trained by 25 months. I just put it down to dd1 doing all the talking for dd2 and hence she isn't having to say too much. Do you think your ds has wax in his ears maybe which could also mean his balance is a bit wonky. It just seems strange that he understands you, so I would be surprised if he had a hearing problem.

Leaky, cannot get over your incompetent floor layer!!!! Honestly.... I would love to know what his boss said to him after your dh phoned!!!

Hope everyone else is ok. Elkie, good to see you.

Have been to Body Combat this evening and am whacked!!

Sexonlegs · 23/04/2009 20:52

x-posts Claire!! Hope the oil works.

Claire2009 · 23/04/2009 21:03

SoL, Thanks!
Yeah thats the thing, but its the first step in wondering why he isn't talking as such by doing the hearing test, they won't do anything without that first. Will do the oil and see if I can get the wax out with that, everytime anyone has looked in his ears they've commented on how waxy they are!

Body Combat sounds great! Would love to do that still have around erm...1.5 stone or so to lose

leakyR · 23/04/2009 22:38

Possibly TMI and me getting excited about any potential signs of impending baby, but I've had v. loose bowel tonight and am having loads of BH contractions and KNUF moments.

It'll all stop now I've told you lot

liath · 23/04/2009 23:03

Good luck, Leaky. You could visualise twatting that useless floor layer man to help you through the painful contractions .
