scorpio1 · 22/08/2008 14:15

hello!

lol @ psycho pill; too true!

France 2 weeks today, i am not excited, honest!!

Mimi seems fine today; how is Bobby?

luckymummy74 · 22/08/2008 14:31

Thanks VS for including me on the new thread...I hope denny doesn't think I'm on 'her patch' LOL!!!!

EllieG · 22/08/2008 19:19

God we've got a lot of babies haven't we?

I am going for A Cycle Ride.

Wish me luck.

Mol has gone to sleep incredibly early cos she's so knackered after last night's shenanigans. She looked so lovely and peaceful and it made my heart feel a bit funny and squeezy watching her. And then I remembered that an early night probably means an early wake, and that put paid to all thoughts of soppiness

Took DSD and her friend blackberry picking and pie-making in a fit of super-mummyness. Am exhausted. Is SO not like me to be so hands on.

scorpio1 · 22/08/2008 19:35

Ellie youre not very good at being a fellow evil stepmother!!

sounds fun though!

EllieG · 22/08/2008 22:01

Believe me, I have had evil thoughts aplenty over the last week...roll on term time....

I hope Mol sleeps tonight. I'm SO SO tired and she is too. I was right about her going down too early - she woke up 40 mins later and wouldn't go back to sleep til 9. God, I need some sleep tonight.

I sound a bit moany, sorry. Will be full of the joys of spring tomorrow I promise

PortAndLemon · 22/08/2008 22:06

Hello!

Have been at my mother's and taking a day trip to France (dry run for holiday in a couple of weeks). And DD has rolled! Back to front on Wednesday and then front to back today. Thers'll be no stopping her now... [slightly scared emoticon].

My mother has been telling me how I should let DD CIO and quit cosleeping. She doesn't go on and on about it, but still.... Aaaaaargh! Right, feel better now.

EllieG · 22/08/2008 22:12

When my mother gives me 'helpful' advice, I just go 'Hum yes I may try that' and ignore ignore ignore. She don't know what I do at home.

DD hasn't rolled yet but she can say hello in 6 languages [competitive mummy emoticon]

LadyBee · 22/08/2008 23:23

wow, babies ahoy!!
Hello, I'm feeling quite a lot better, but quite sleepy - just thought I'd poke my head in and wave

I'm excited, another friend is finally nearly due - it's like tag team babies over here, three months apart each. I hope she gets a smooth (if not easy - is that possible?) birth, surely 3rd one will be lucky?
Want to tell her to make sure she goes out for dinner, cinema, has lovely baths, appreciates all the sleep she gets from now til birth, but it's no use - I read lots of advice along those lines and didn't do any of those things.
Speaking of lovely baths - DP ran one for me tonight, baths are soo much better when someone runs it for you, aren't they?
I think I've somehow managed to get DS into a feeding-to-sleep habit, wouldn't mind if it were just the evening sleep but it seems to be all his naps as well, which is a bit disappointing as he used to go down for those quite easily. Might see if I can get the feed-play-nap pattern back over the weekend, while DP is around for support.

Sorry to hear about DS's injuries VS, and Mimi's illness Scorpio, and DD's sleeplessness Ellie. And wow V1kk1m! Congratulations!!!!

Hi PAL - nice to have you back!

SalLikesCoffee · 23/08/2008 08:17

Hello all. Have been reading thread but have been feeling a bit off, hence the no posting. Hope you're all doing well and that the babies are healthy and sleeping again!

Poor Bobbie vs, hope he's better soon. Thanks for the new thread too.

I'm so tired, have been having various nightmares all night. I kept dreaming I'm crying or screaming for help, how weird. Guess it's better than actually crying in real life

We got a babysitter and went out for dinner last night, which was really lovely. The best part was probably just to be talking solidly for 2 hours without having to do something else.

Well, I think that's my news for the moment. Hope you all have a great day.

MommyHasaHeadache · 23/08/2008 11:06

Hey all - so excited - Gigi just rolled over onto her stomach! And then giggled! Very proud Mom here!

Hi LadyBee - glad you are feeling better.

Was wondering where you were Sal! I wish we were brave enough to hire a babysitter - I would love another night out...

scorpio1 · 23/08/2008 12:00

Must be the weekend of rolling - Mimi did yesterday congrats to all other rollers!

Why brave enough, did something happen last time??

We are skint until holiday, mum and dad are meeting us in France and are babysitting so one night me and dh will go out over there, yay!!!

And shock horror, i have actually been invited to watch some thai boxing!! with dh! (normally boys day out you see)

He is working today . I miss him so much.

DonDons · 23/08/2008 13:00

Morning all. My head hurts - I only had 3 glasses of wine last night but feel totally crap today. So unfair!

Hope Bonny and Millie are both feeling better today, and that Molly has given you some rest Ellie!

Glad to see you are feeling a bit better LadyBee.

DonDons · 23/08/2008 13:01

Bobby not Bonny.......sorry

Denny185 · 23/08/2008 14:56

I go away for 2 days and return to find a brand new thread and Luckymummy has officially joined us, hooray saves me snooping over on May thread

Well my little boy is 2 , he's had a lovely time playing with his new train set. Unfortunately not such a lovely time playing with my friends 3 year old who pushes, pinches and slaps , they have gone again now so peace has resumed just need to straighten the house back out.

LadyBee · 23/08/2008 16:30

Happy birthday to your DS Denny, a train set sounds great, I'm sure DP would be jealous if he knew
Those dreams sound very distressing Sal, hope they ease off soon and let you get some restful sleep.
It was DP's birthday on Wednesday and he took the day off work, it was great spending it all together and we went to a lovely pub that does French food for dinner, unfortunately after being out all day DS did start getting a bit overtired just as we were finishing our main dishes, so no puddings for us. I had however bought (no time to make) the most delicious double chocolate cake, so we had that at home instead.
No rolling here yet, poor boy. He is sitting quite well though, for short periods of time. I've been having him sit next to me on the sofa while I eat/MN and he usually starts off straight but ends up with a bit of a lean on, gazing up at me as I eat. Bears a striking resemblance to what my old dog used to do.

scorpio1 · 23/08/2008 16:39

lol ladybee at old dog

Happy birthday to ds, denny. I know some rather horrid 3 year olds too; their mothers just let them get away with things and then they just carry on.

Have been supermarket shopping at price....but got wipes, wine, fish etc so not too bad...£92.

I have lost another 2lbs this week, so 6lb loss in total; im now at 9st 10lb. Am having the evening off, - Indian, and Ben & Jerrys. Then back to it tomorrow; want another loss next Saturday, though holiday i won't loose though. I am good al lweek though, so deserve one evening off!

I have hurt my foot on wii fit so cannot 'do' a run, will have to do step class instead. Try a run tomorrow. Have done 40 minute walk today already (well, hobble, lol)

scorpio1 · 23/08/2008 16:40

Ladybee - i adore French food, France and everything there. What did you have for dinner? Have you had il flotantes? [yum]going to have this, religuese (little buns) & beaucoup de champers on hol! (not excited, honest)

God im going to be soooooooo fat!

Denny185 · 23/08/2008 17:30

Sounds like u r dreading your hols Scorpio, LOL, and u r so not going to be fat, one of my legs weighs 9stone
This 3 year old was being told off but was smacked (only lightly) almost every time she did something wrong ( could be learned behaviour). My DD1 told her husband they should control her and did they use the naughty step as thats what her mummy did

Ladybee, u r sounding more your normal self, hope things r on the mend.

BTW DD2 took 2 1/2oz without screaming, not enough to go out but a start.

scorpio1 · 23/08/2008 17:35

oh yes, the old 'don't smack' message, given with a smack! How does that work then?? I am big believer of removing child from the situation - naughty step, chill out time, whatevers right at the time.

SalLikesCoffee · 23/08/2008 18:24

Brilliant re Gigi and Mimi! Not long now and the lying quietly would be long and distant (and I suspect wished back ) memories!

DonDons, hope the head's better now - am sure it was worth it though.

Congrats too to your dh, Ladybee. Your dinner (and the cake...) sounds perfect!

Denny, lol at your DD1! Clever little girl. Hehehe.

Oh MommyHasaHeadache, on the nights out, the trick is just to find someone you trust completely, then there's freedom again! I was so sure we'd never be able to go out as no family here, but the cleaning lady is now our official babysitter and Roelof's non-official surrogate grandma! She's sooooo nice with him, and he starts laughing when he sees her, so I don't even feel guilty about it! (To be honest, after a long day I suspect she is actually loads more fun than me anyway...) Ah, and it was so nice last night when we came back and thanked her, and she said how she loves it so much to spend time with him, calling him "my little boy", hehe.

Shopping prices have really got out of control, hasn't it? Not long ago it used to be £40 or so for our regular trip to Tesco, now it's never less than £70 - every single time! And except for the nappies (and I buy Tesco ones anyway most of the time!), there's nothing "expensive" there, just normal stuff. It's crazy.

Oooh, we got a Wii Fit today!!! Went to Toys R Us this morning to buy Roelof a baby piano thingy (hoping that the poor thing might actually have more musical talent than his parents one day, which shouldn't be too difficult), dh disappeared, just to return all smiley-faced with an order number, and 20 minutes later all 3 of us had new toys! He's installing it now, so I'll probably have to get off my bum any moment now! Which can only be a good thing, am quite excited.

I also ordered Roelof's high chair today, so rather expensive day so far, but at least it's done now and nothing else needed in the immediate future.

luckymummy74 · 23/08/2008 19:05

OMG Denny at C's kids!!!! I did laugh at DD1 trying to teach C discipline!!!

I have been really strict today with DD1, who has driven me CRAZY! She told me she needed a wee in church while I was giving DD2 a bottle, so by the time I had sorted DD2 out back in buggy etc and took DD1, she then announced 'I don't need a wee mummy' . She also very insolently did things that I specifically asked her not to do today, i.e. 'DD1, don't stand on that chair please', she looks me full in the eye and stands on the chair.
She also wet the bed at naptime cos she refused to do a wee before her nap, she is dry in nappy 80% of time after nap so I just put her to nap in her pants (she hadn't drunk much this morning).
S and Oliie came over, she threw little stones at Ollie (not maliciously, but seh still did it).
After bath she pulled a button off my jeans. (A stud button so I can't even fix it )
So she had NO tv today at all, and no story at bedtime.

She was very remorseful, and kept saying sorry without being asked. I was just really quiet and she knew she had really pissed me off.

I know that makes her sound like a right little minx, but she's normally a good girl isn't she Denny??

Anyway, thank F**K it's 7pm and they are both in bed asleep.

Oh, and I gave DD2 6oz formula last night at 6:45pm and she didn't wake til 6:30am!!! Yipee!

luckymummy74 · 23/08/2008 19:12

scorpio well done on your weight loss. I would love to be 9st 10lbs!! Don't think I've been that since my mid 20's.....a dim and distant memory!

Also agree with the naughty step...I used it for the first time today with DD1 (2yrs 3mths). She seemed to 'get it'.

Sal - let me know what you think of the wii fit, I'm thinking of getting one.

Well done on all the rolling babies.....DD2 has managed a roll onto her side from her back...once....!!

luckymummy74 · 23/08/2008 19:13

denny (me again) it will shave valuable seconds off my mumsnetting now we are on the same thread!!!

Denny185 · 23/08/2008 19:34

Lucymummy - I know I had exactly the same thought. S was a minx today wasnt she most unlike her is she coming down with something? So glad C is sleeping through now r feeling any less exhausted?

I feel pretty bolloxed today after walking round the zoo for 8 hours yesterday and having 9 of us under 1 roof for 2 days. C's DD2 is 6 months and waking twice during the night so the joys of our paper thin walls meant that I kept waking thinking it was Aeryn (who was in fact the only one who got her full quota of sleep). Still it was great to see her and I can catch up on sleep tonight.

Denny185 · 23/08/2008 19:36

BTW Sal I am v of the wii fit, we are on the list at a couple of stores but they send an email to say they have some in and we keep missing them.
