If they don't have details Sal let me know as I will be back there Tuesday and can get telephone number for you.

SushiMama · 26/08/2008 22:37

Hello everyone- Wow new thread, and so much has gone on in the past few days!

Thanks VS for including me in the roll-call- I couldn't find us at first, and then realised that I had got her birthdate wrong- I keep thinking she's on the 22nd for some reason
Oh and those tips are great. I shall try to implement them from now on to everyone

Sorry to hear about the epilepsy rearing its ugly head Sal, but hope it all goes well tomorrow at the gp's.

Glad that you sound so well LadyBee!! Cakes sound Yummy! I cannot even fathom baking now LO's not been sleeping well, possibly due to new bed-time routine with DH bottlefeeding her and putting her to bed. She just screams for me. And I thought they weren't able to do that till much later? So we've been so tired. I was baking for England about a year ago though when I was just preggers, so have perfected a recipe for carrot cake if you're interested

Sorry to hear about DS's fall PAL, but glad that it seems to be ok?

Mooncups- still no period yet...

But, does anyone know if the stitches they use for the internal CS come out through the skin? Someone told me that once, but I was skeptical, but now I seem to have something possibly coming through where the internal scar seems to be... shall wait and see.

Also been kind of broody for next baby. More so cos I don't want them to have too large a gap (less than 2 years). (DH and I, are all 2 years apart from siblings, and I think we all have jealousy issues.) And then I read a thread about thinking it through financially first, so most people seem to think finances are important going from 2-3, but we are going from 1-2. And I feel even that's difficult. But then, maybe I've not really adjusted to going from 0-1 and not being at work, even though I'm still dreading it!

SalLikesCoffee · 26/08/2008 23:05

Thanks Peachy, will do.

Sushimama, I'm relatively sure they always use dissolvable internal stitches. However, I've heard that occasionally a stitch doesn't dissolve, and I think it's then that they'd come through the skin. This is all hear-say though, so for all I know it's rubbish. I can't feel any at my scar, so hoping it's all dissolved.

scorpio1 · 27/08/2008 10:24

Sorry don't know about CS

Sal - good luck at gp today

Peachy - Adams had money off school uniform...im keeping as much of R's stuff for J as poss.

I am a bad mother - thought R sports thing was today, its tomorrow I am ill today DH took them to school/nursery and has only just gone to work. I have had about 2 hours sleep (my fault, M went 9-7!!)Also mising weigh in today - cannot walk far!

Had some odd news y'day about a woman i know and her having an affair - for some reason has really shaken me up

Not doing anything today. have man flu big time. Mimi is slightly snotty too but think BF may be helping her fight it.

Peachy · 27/08/2008 11:41

The boys uniforms are supposed to be logo'd , passing on doesn't even cut it as they changed the design (well, parts of) this year so it will be obvous who has new and old uniform. Really annoyed about that!

Actually what narks me most is that infant and junior uniforms for the girls are navy, so they only need buy new pullovers, but boys go from navy to grey, meaning a complete change of colour.

scorpio1 · 27/08/2008 11:44

the dc only have labelled sweatshirt - but you are allowed just plain red (most common in school), grey trousers.

what a pain for you, and v expensive i should imagine.

Peachy · 27/08/2008 11:51

labelled sweats, polo's, jggng suit, pe shirts....... arrrrghhhhhhh!

And the only schol in the area in navy is the infants, and the area is thought of as wel off so asda dont stock but up-our-arses-scholwear do, iyswim!

VictorianSqualor · 27/08/2008 11:59

Well, I have to get DS a uniform this year, black trews, white t-shirts and logo'd sweatshirts, plus a P>E kit, spare outdoor shoes, indoor/day shoes, plimsolls, P.E bag, Book bag and spare raincoat to leave at school.

He is three.

He is doing 9am-11:30am nursery mon-fri. But he needs all that

Thankfully DD doesn't need new sweaters or t-shirts, just a couple of black skirts, some black over the knee socks (her choice...) and some black shoes.

scorpio1 · 27/08/2008 12:08

at nursery stuff....jamie just needs himself, lol.

scorpio1 · 27/08/2008 13:26

Mimi's eye is all leaky, and she has a mark on her eyelid, looks like she scratched herself. its all red

Peachy · 27/08/2008 13:36

she probaly did scratch herself, Bas does that a fair bit, rub some BM n it then keep an eye.

scorpio1 · 27/08/2008 13:37

looks like she has been guaging it out! silly q, but i have had paracetemol (am ill, poor me lol) will that bm be ok in her eye?

MadameOvary · 27/08/2008 13:39

Hello Everyone
Ellis is feeding ALL THE TIME. I am exhausted. At 5 months she has been excl BF and I'm wondering if its time to wean or just a major growth spurt.

Off to try and catch up on posts now!

MadameOvary · 27/08/2008 13:41

Thanks for inclusion in roll call too!

scorpio1 · 27/08/2008 13:44

how many weeks? about 2 weeks ago alot of our babies had growth spurts....i would suggest that, keep feeding feeding feeding, it will settle.

VictorianSqualor · 27/08/2008 13:49

Lex's stuff for his nursery ahs come, but DD's old bed is still in the spare room so I need BiL to bring a spanner over later and he won't come on MSN, Grrrr.
I know he isn't fucking doing anything!!

Also my cousin just told me my friend had been hurt, so I called her and her Ex battered her at the weekend and broke her fucking nose, I am so angry. Her ex is DD&DS1's DAd's brother btw. Thankfully she called the police and he is now on remand.

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 27/08/2008 13:52

bloody men like that. Hope she is ok as can be? My friends brother recently beat his 17 year old gf up - her baby was 3 weeks old, she was put in icu - he broke her nose, collarbone, all sorts.

Yay at Lex's nursery though!!

DH is going away this weekend, to see Z. France a week friday, yay! Then he cannot go anywhere

VictorianSqualor · 27/08/2008 14:00

Well yh. She's not the kind of girl to let it go thank God, when I called she was in Ikea (she is moving house this week because he kept demanding his way into the house they bought together) so she couldn't really talk, I'm going to call her later though.

OP posts:
LadyBee · 27/08/2008 14:25

good lord - your poor friend, VS, so glad she called police and they did something.

Don't know if you have spotted it but there's a school uniform swap thread here not sure how active it is now but there might be a few useful bits available.
I have no idea why I was reading it...breastfeeding boredom I suppose

DS is squealing singing like a humpback whale on helium, pretty much constantly today.

I faced my fear of the car and drove to the GP today (all of 5 mins drive, but does involve some busy roads) to see the baby clinic. Had a chat to HV about how I was feeling (which is much much better, thank goodness) and also about a cough that DS has been suffering for a bit. She also told me that when he tugs on his ears it sometimes means he has a sore jaw from teething and to use ashtons powders - so have tried them out..he has been tugging at his ears quite a lot these last few days and I was worried about an earache but he seems completely well (apart from the cough, which is also odd). Have been told to watch out for temperature so will just keep an eye on things.

MadamOvary - courage! I think the growth spurts feel worse now because we forget to behave like we did when we first started out, try to eat plenty, drink plenty and give yourself as much of a chance to cope with the increased demand as you can.

Sal - hope it goes ok today.

LadyBee · 27/08/2008 14:33

oh OMaLittle, if you're reading, just wanted you to know I wonder how you're getting on pretty much every day, Hope you're having some success with the night sleeping/feeding stuff.

scorpio1 · 27/08/2008 14:33

When i 'spoke' to her last week on email, she seemed ok

Peachy · 27/08/2008 14:47

Gd for your friend VS.

Am fumng right now, really pissed off

DonDons · 27/08/2008 16:19

afternoon all

peachy - sorry i can't help nbut hope it gets sorted

vs - hope your friend is ok - what a wankerH

been for final jabs this afternoon. A wailed like crazy then bf'ed for 90 mins - is fine now and trying to eat my hand and cover me with vom. nice.

SalLikesCoffee · 27/08/2008 17:16

Bloody hell VS, your poor friend. Good on her for standing up for herself, she sounds a strong woman (emotionally).

Peachy, that is just wrong! I really hope she can sort out something for herself and do something to ensure this doesn't happen again. It's blatant discrimmination.

Well, doctors appointment went fine, I've got the prescription now and hope to feel better soon. I'm shattered, so tired.

MadameOvary · 27/08/2008 20:59

OMG so many of you going through the mill and here I am whining about lots of feeding
