4 here all the time - dh always (mostly) takes time off to see dss though. i have refused to have him for half term this time though, dh would be at work, i have enough to do.....

Soph73 · 02/10/2008 11:30

Gosh you´re going to find it really quiet when they´re all off to school Don´t blame you about dss though it is an awful lot of work just looking after a couple & having DH off as well!

Peachy · 02/10/2008 11:54

'Does anyone have any savoury non-dairy recipes for grown-ups? '

give us a clue which sort of things you like? Am dairy free myself so pretty much everything I cook LOL- is it for the Christening? I'm doing a vegan veggie tart thing, can sort recipe ut for that? Also quiches etc- dairy free chesse is beyond nasty, but the Pure butter you can get is fine- can you get ti there? If not will find you someting totally free from.

VictorianSqualor · 02/10/2008 11:55

We have pot noodles for lunch
DS1 has just ran to me carrying one (I told him they weren't good for you) these are good!Look they have peas in!!

I am fuming at my old landlady/agent.

They've only opened and photocopied my fucking post

Dh has been talking about the snip for a bit- I can't be sterilised (places me at an even higher risk of osteoporosis and am already VV high). Wpould be rivate as the waiting list is 18 onths but DH will have to persuade GP its not the depression talking iyswim, hoping GP will grab chance though wiith our genetic chances of asd

SalLikesCoffee · 02/10/2008 12:08

What VS??? What's wrong with her? Why did she open it, and even worse, photocopy it?? I'd be livid.

Hehehe, I'm going to have pot noodles now too, and if anyone (which is dh - he's mortified that it's one of my fav foods ) complains, I'll just blame VS's ds1 for the incorrect nutritional advice

Dh now says he's fine with snip, but I'll see how it goes if we actually get to it. Thing is, we'd like 2 children, but a snip is so final, so a part of me thinks that it might be better to wait a couple of years after the second one just to be sure. Which might mean we'll have 3, as I'm not on any contraceptives anymore, hehe.

Peachy · 02/10/2008 12:12

DH loves pot noodles too- the boys chase him around telling him off for bad food hehehe

VS if youre about me luv, email / facebook conclusion to last night will ya? ta

boght stuff for Christening cake today - buying one but decorating; if it goes OK I will make proper next time- dh a bit phobic of sugarcraft though as mil obsessed with it.

Dad's birthday is day after Baptism too, so makig him a cake but he's easy- make cake; cover in ganache; tip bof of licorice allsorts- done

Hello girls. Been a bit absent as RL has been catching up with me. Back working, plus redecorating our room, which is taking forever. It means as soon as I've put the kids to bed, I don old clothes and start painting - still a good couple to weeks to go at this rate. We've been on the sofabed for 6 weeks now (not just for decorating, but to be near dd2 too.) And trying to empty the utility room to tun it into a bathroom, and designing an extension to the girls' room. So much to do...
On the plus side, A is now sleeping regularly from 11 or 12 until 7/730!!

Mmm, might have jinxed it now I've mentioned it.

Welcome back Soph! (old name is Sagitta)

SalLikesCoffee · 02/10/2008 13:30

Hmm - is anyone else's baby still waking up at night? I don't mind too much, but maybe I'm doing something wrong if I'm the only one...? Ooh, please tell me I just forgot to flick the magic switch

PS: Not that I'm [jealous] or anything of course, TSC

Peachy · 02/10/2008 13:32

Sal lol- 7 times a night common here- 3 minimum.

So don't feel too bad...

VictorianSqualor · 02/10/2008 13:34

Well, Alex wakes up still. Varyingly.
He woke when I went to bed last night at 11pm, had a feed, fucked around until about 1am and then went down til 6:30am.

The night before he went down at 9pm and woke up the next morning at 6am

He is fighting his sleeps though which is pissing me off. I had to wake him at 8:30 this morning to take the Dcs to school. He normally has a nap at 9:30am but I just can't get him to sleep today. I'm going to try again in a minute.

TheShipsCat · 02/10/2008 13:39

To be honest Sal, the first few times I thought it was just that I was so tired I didn't wake up when she cried. But with the monitor on full volume -and the fact that she wakes up dd1 when she cries, who has lungs the size of the eiffel tower - I am sure she has started sleeping through...long may it continue...

lol at your descriptions TSC and VS!

Peachy, sorry (for your sake) to hear, but thanks for sharing! Hell, almost killing off my baby boy and having a complete misunderstanding of the thing they (are supposed to) do most all in one week would be too much for my fragile system to take!

Soph73 · 02/10/2008 16:07

TheShipsCat - hello luvey Nice to hear from you.
Peachy - recipes are because it´s DS1´s birthday on Sunday & one of our friends can´t eat any dairy, red meat or drink any alcohol at the moment as she´s still breastfeeding her 8 month old DD who reacts badly to the above. We can´t get anything like dairy free cheese, butter, etc here unfortunately.
Am really needing a pot noodle now

Soph73 · 02/10/2008 16:09

VS - what did your landlady do that for? I´d sodding kill her

Sal - not to rub your nose in it but Sam slept through from 5 weeks

SalLikesCoffee · 02/10/2008 16:33

Soph
Well, I had pot noodles and it was great! and [sticks tongue out]

LadyBee · 02/10/2008 22:30

bloody hell Sal - what a nightmare! Hope R is feeling better and you've stopped panicking about it. Must have been shocking.
Has been a busy couple of days, and I'm knackered, so glad it's friday tomorrow and I have no plans..going to have a quiet one at home and try to restore some order the house.
Benedict mostly wakes, sometimes doesn't. But usually wakes once in the night. He's going down fairly regularly at around 7:30/8, and wakes at random times once a night except for one night this week when he slept through.
I gave him formula today. I wanted to see whether he was ok with it before I started on food but I'm not sure he's very happy, has been drawing his legs up and waking up crying since I put him down tonight. Feel a bit about it. I guess his system will have a few things to get used to but will give the formula a miss, I think, and start expressing again.

VS, Benedict was fighting my attempts to lull him to sleep right before I just started being able to put him down and he'd put himself to sleep - could be worth giving it a go? Also...what on earth was your landlady playing at??? That's appalling.

Soph, I am seriously contemplating having chips for lunch tomorrow. It just sounds like the right thing.
