Oooops no room to link to old thread!

Lol at AQ forgetting that she is pg Sure the madness will pass. And don't worry about my chocolate supply, I live round the corner from Tesco

Jabber I think you should pop ds in the post and I'll sned him on holiday with all my clibing friends, they do similarly dangerous stunts on a larger scale. He'd have a ball

send

climbing

Honestly can't talk, can't type, can someone please tell my body that it is not necessary to totally shut down a few days before AF? Now there is a good argument for getting pg again if ever I had one.

Helllooooo.

Dd2 up at 3am with high temp. Seems a bit better now but still off food.

Have told childminder I'm going to give it 3 more weeks and if DD2 is still unsettled then we'll call it a day.

jabberwocky · 14/02/2008 13:21

Poor baby glass! She's really having a rough time of it.

Indith, I used to climb a little bit when single and said I hoped to have a child to climb with me Be careful what you wish for!!

AQ, I wish we could put a gate up. It's just not designed so that we could unfortunately. At least in the new house the stairs will be much easier to work around.

Indith · 14/02/2008 13:37

Ah well you brought in on yourself then jabber, you lose all sympathy rights

Hope poor little baby glass feels better soon and decides that her childminder is the most wonderful person in the world ever who is not related to her

We still have no stairgate either Jabber - but DD3 is only just finding the stairs (we have taught DD1 and 2 toclose the door behind them since they were little, so not a problem until she learns to open the door herself.

Just remember to do what my parents did - if anyone leaves the door open, scream "where you born in a BARN?" at them. (I wonder if Mary used to shout that at Jesus )

FunkyGlassSlipper · 14/02/2008 14:31

indith.

She woke up with temp of 40.7 which nurofen has brought down but her eye is all gunky and stuck togather too so we're off to drs later

GodzillasRockinRollinBumcheek · 14/02/2008 14:34

Well i DID have a great long post but DD3 just hit Esc and deleted the lot

jabberwocky · 14/02/2008 14:51

Oh, I hate it when that happens!

Lol, at Jesus and the barn Will have to remember to do that next time.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 14/02/2008 19:07

Dr says DDs throat is full of catarrh and so a cold combined with her jabs is making her poorly. he was not my normal GP but very nicely told me I was doing exactly the right thing with nurofen, liquids etc and that I did the right thing taking her in and obviously I wasnt making up her symptoms. And he also said well done for getting the MMR done and also gave me praise for her being a thumb-sucker so she could comfort herself!! None of it was prompted by me so actually I left quite happy

Indith · 14/02/2008 19:32

Aw so nice to have a lovely GP. Shame they are a wee bit young for lemonade, bubbles always help clear my throat! Ah well you've taken her to the Dr now so she will be right as rain tomorrow and making wonder if you imagined it all

(Lemonade being from a childhood of monthly sinusitis attacks that did nasty things to my throat)

Hellooooooooooooooooooo

Anybody there?

Did we push the rest of them overboard in transit?

The flaming ear has started oozing again, bet by Monday when ds sees the Dr it will have stopped again. The small one has decided naps are for wimps. Has managed to past couple of days fine and has been happy as anything at creche today but by dinner time had had enough so was parcelled off ot bed. Better not wake early though, Saturday tomorrow and mummy needs a sleep in!

Found you! Thought you were all quiet til I spotted it was up to 1001 posts .

Spa yesterday was fab, I could have moved in permanently. Must find a rich husband so I can go all the time .

Dcs were good for the ILs (phew). Even ds2 only woke up once in the night . MIL and FIL looked shattered when I got back though!

Very pleased your eye is clearing up AQ, but sorry to see ds's ear is icky again Indith. It's a pain, isn't it?

FGS, hope dd2 is better. Poor thing (and you) are really going through it at the moment, aren't you. Sounds like the doc was lovely though, I find it makes a real difference if I get an empathetic doctor.

Indith · 15/02/2008 19:17

Do you think your future rich husband would pay for a December 06 spa meetup?

My mum was shattered after coming up here to look after ds for a couple of days and that was part time and without getting up and only one child! She is coming up for a full week during my Easter hols when dp will be on a training week, hope she is starting to build up some reserves!

GodzillasRockinRollinBumcheek · 15/02/2008 19:34

Argh - DD3 has definately joined the ranks of the sickies (only a cold+teething though i think)...she is in bed by 7pm as regular as clockwork - except not tonight. Tonight she is on her dada's knee looking very tired but has flat out screamed every time we laid her in the cot. Ho hum. And no Medised, Calpol Night or any such thing in the house. Great.

accessorizequeen · 15/02/2008 21:27

God,here you all are! I've been checking 'threads you are on' for days now thinking I was a thread-killer

Indith, hope ds a) starts napping again at no nap for 13 month old! and b) ear gets sorted. I've noticed ds2 gets better quicker now, even if he's iller iyswim? So at some point all this illness has to end.

FGS, so hope she is better soon and you catch a break ((hugs))

No more vampire eye, got myself off the steroid drops, sooo full of snot (tmi, sorry) I can hardly hear anything. Does lemonade help sinusitis then, Indith (as I get it monthly or so) and why?

Not just forgetting I'm pg (aside from hideous nausea all the way to see Thomas and Friends Day out) I'm finding it so hard to be enthusiastic about it. I just keep thinking of all the work, and no sleep and giving up work when I'm not sure and endless breastfeeds and school runs with 2 in two and I do not like a phil & teds one bit (saw 4 today with babies crammed in like sardines). Anyway, there, it's out. I'm sure I'll get all sooky over the scan if I get my arse in order to the gp's. Can I have yours, fgs, sounds much nicer than my cow.

Indith · 15/02/2008 21:58

I think it depends on how the sinusitis affects you AQ. When I had it not long ago it was all in the head but through childhood and teens my throat would get all gunked up to the extent that I couldn't breathe (nose blocked too) and I could feel the sides actually stick together. Was horrible, my dad would yell at me for being a martyr and not taking anything for it (doesn't do seeing people he loves in pain well that man) but swallowing anything made me sick. Anyway I eventually learned to make myself sick before it got to unable to breathe stage and that lemonade, especially fairly cheap clear stuff that is mainly bubbles, helped to clear away the gunk. Works much better than water and is the best of the fizzy drinks for it as unlike fanta or coke it doesn't leave you with that slightly gunked up feeling from drinking it.

Anyway the upshot of that random waffle is that lemonade is the best thing in the world ever for a gunky throat.

Hmmm erm. Right AQ, you know that endless feeds don't last forever and you so enjoyed bf ds2 once you properly got going. You will be so much more confident about it this time. Get more slings, maybe a wrap and use them fromt he start so you can feed on the go and not feel like you can't run around after ds2. You won't be letting dc3 down by that either as s/he will be enjoying the closeness of being worn. Don't other with a double buggy, use slings and by the time dc3 is too heavy to wear all the time ds2 will be mostly happy to walk or stand on a buggy board with dc3 in a single buggy. Sleep will be ok, it doesn't really last that long in the whole scheme of things. Work, you will be too busy to miss it . Lets face it by the time you reach retirement you will be wishing you could stop so relax, don't worry about it and look forward to what will be a wonderful year of leave with your family. Think how utterly amazing it will be to be spending so much time with ds2 too. There will be plenty of years left to work, not so many years of childhood. Anyway get yourself to the Dr and go get all soppy over a scan then post it on your profile to make us lot even more broody too.

Oh pants ds is waking up. Hmm 10pm, tempted to drug him and go to bed. He has only slept through once since, hmmm, before he got ill. Well before he got ill as he was really restless for a few weeks before then. Can anyone tell I'm just typing to keep myself from going in before giving him time to settle himself? He is def still teething so drugs probably justifiable but he also tends to be restless when overtired and don't want to drug him for that. Decisions decisions. Is turning into crying now, I had best go up and see to him.

DD2 still not great Any advice?

The poor darling FGS, hope you get some advice.

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 16/02/2008 21:09

bother, forgot to buy lemonade today. I notice it's a lot better when I'm outside, central heating must be setting me off.
fgs, hope you find the answer soon, did you mean dd2 still not well too?
Indith, thanks mate I had a chat with dp about it all last night and he got a bit irate with me which I probably deserved. I've got to try and be positive. I did feel that I was missing out them being at work even 3 days, but worried now that I'll be so involved with newborn I'll miss ds1's starting at school. I am sure the day to dayness will be easier with the 3rd, I certainly find ds2 easier to handle. He apparently has another tooth (a molar), dp discovered it today - we hadn't even noticed, we take any whingeing completely in our stride now! He got me back tonight by trying to bit my nose off with his now 7 teeth . How's the teething at our house?
You're just giving me another excuse to buy more slings! Was looking at a few the other day tbh, I still want to swap my ergo for a proper mei tei.

jabberwocky · 17/02/2008 03:36

My mother always gave us a cup of fresh squeezed lemonaide when we were sick and an aspirin. don't know if you can take the aspirin or not AQ but the hot lemonaide is really wonderful.

FGS, have posted on your other thread. Poor little dd2

Indith, I so sympathize on the ear thing. I can't believe it took as long as it did for ds2's infection to clear.

Oh, and speaking of teeth, ds2 has had only 4 for the longest but looks to be cutting 3 or maybe even 4 more He had been doing so well on the sleeping then was up 2 hours last night How do they know when it's coming up to a work day???

Dh is driving a moving van to the new house tomorrow with non-essentials. My dad and ds1 are going with him. We had a viewing today but they said they were looking for something bigger. I'm starting to have minor panic attacks at night about the whole two houses situation.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 17/02/2008 07:14

Thanks guys,

DD1 has the poorly tummy and DD2 has had the fever all week. Although she slept through tonight and didnt wake with a high temp so we may be over the worst.

I have an MRI scan today for my knee.

Indith · 17/02/2008 11:28

If an MRI provides and answer FGS it is worth it.

Jabber sorry the house selling not going so well, if not selling starts to cause problems financially is it worth renting it out until it sells?

AQ would I ever do a thing like encourage sling buying? I love the look of the EVO mai tais as they have the extra ring that looks like it makes them so snug. I've primarily gone back to wrapping as I had trouble with that in a MT but they look great. How on earth did he sprout a molar without you noticing though? Am slightly , I think ds2 needs to give my ds some tips!

Dp had to ring me to get picked up form rugby yesterday. He has had problems with his knee before and I made hiim promise that if it did it again he would see a Dr about it (has done before but didn't find anything). Except this time he says he landed and it went crunch He is a bit of a cripple today. Then when I put a perfectly happy ds down to bed he gave me a look and threw up . Seems fine today though.

I realised this morning that the wet patch outside the back door from where the overflow pipe leaks has turned to ice. Unfortunately I only realised this when flying through the air having gone out in slippers to hang washing. Thankfully just a few bruises and scrapes and a little loss of dignity.
