Oooops no room to link to old thread!

Lol at AQ forgetting that she is pg Sure the madness will pass. And don't worry about my chocolate supply, I live round the corner from Tesco

Jabber I think you should pop ds in the post and I'll sned him on holiday with all my clibing friends, they do similarly dangerous stunts on a larger scale. He'd have a ball

I know, I know. How about I challenge everyone to go out and buy the correct scaffolding so we can all have great norks?

Just taking folic acid at the moment. Wondering about iron levels. I know it is going to be more tiring this time around but I could literally sleep all the time, when I nap it takes me about half an hour to wake properly, I keep half waking but not being able to open eyes or semi dreaming that I'm awake. Was fine til recently, got through the orals exams really well, nausea going away etc now I'm so tired I can hardly eat. Only reason not sleeping now is that I have to go get ds soon and even if I set an alarm I know I won't manage to get up in time.

Huge Congrats LenniED! I don´t know, I leave the board for a few days and look what happens

DS has been quite poorly these past few days. His cold and snotty nose turned into a chest infection with awful cough so the Doc prescribed some antibiotics I refrained from giving them at first and wonder if I did the right thing....? Anyway its this disgusting gloopy mixture and he hates it, major battle getting him to take it. He´s been so healthy up to now so its been a big shock. I´m convinced he picked something up in the hospital Anyway I put him to bed at 7.30 as he was dead beat so am hoping he´ll last the night tonight as he´s so tired

Worst of all I don´t think his tear duct op has worked I can´t bare the thought of him having to go through it all again. I feel really down about it all

FunkyGlassSlipper · 13/05/2008 19:58

Aw bebespain, things will like brighter when he feels a bit better, Have you tried giving medicine on a syringe? DD2 all of a sudden wont take medicine from a spoon but will happily take it if I squirt it in

The last 2 nights I have put DD2 to bed as usual at 7 and at about 7.30 I've gone in to check she has a sheet on her (no duvet atm) and she is just lying their eyes open, looking around. Not a sound since I put her to bed

LenniEd · 13/05/2008 19:59

Thanks bebespain - and sorry to hear about DS, I hope he is improving, a good nights sleep will do him good. How soon did they think you would know if the op worked or not? Is it worth calling the hospital and seeing if you can get an appointment for them to have a look at it? Perhaps there is something they can do while it is still healing, rather than have to go through the whole op again? Just remember he won't know any different when he is older what happened with his tear duct, it will be a long lost memory - only you will know what he went through. It is stressful when they are poorly.

Indith, sounds to me like there might be something else causing the tiredness - iron levels are one candidate but perhaps you have overdone it a bit too and your body is catching up. Exams are mentally draining, and stressful in my experience - all that adrenaline will have gone now and you may be feeling the effects.

Today on my veg plot (yes am calling it a 'plot' now ) have put the bark paths round the beds - well half of them anyhow and have dug out the strawberry bed. Have also planted 2 fruit trees and dug 2 bags of manure into my raised beds (6 bags to go tho ). Am feeling very proud of my efforts, although stomach muscles weakening by the day (why so soon??) so think DH will have to be drafted in to do the rest of the digging.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 13/05/2008 20:01

Indith - I found pregnancy no 1 truly exhausting. I had to go to bed at 9 mlost nights and I worked from home and would often have naps in the afternoon. Pregnancy 2 was tiring but not in the same league. It did improve but sensible to get it checked out.

accessorizequeen · 13/05/2008 20:06

aww, bebespain, poor little mite. How can you know op hasn't worked, can you take him back so they can check? I'm against ab's as well, so know exactly what you mean, we're none of us perfect at this game!

Eli, they are soooo heavy aren't they? I cannot believe how much of a difference 2 days of walking has made though so as soon as dd does it'll get better. I got to the point I was making ds crawl to the dining table and down the stairs rather than carry him! Hope it eases off soon, but you don't get a break from it so not much chance of rest (hugs)

FGS, thanks so much for offer but I really don't wear skirts and dresses. In fact I dont think I've worn a dress for a decade and certainly don't own any!

castles, did you get a place at nursery for dd2? Is she still the same handful?! Yes, I did find out about sex as it happens, I've got one of each in there. I cried when she told me twin1 was a girl but really just so relieved they're ok although of course I had no cause for concern!

Indith, there is nothing like pg tiredness is there poor you, I was just like you and so tired I could barely stand up. Spatone did help, as did sepia, I got so fed up with feeling knackered but it WILL end (hugs)

LenniEd · 13/05/2008 20:17

congratulations AQ - if/when we find out, if it is a boy in here we'll have to swap some clothes!

Actually on second thoughts - dreadful idea, you'll need your boy clothes

accessorizequeen · 13/05/2008 20:29

I think the girl will be wearing boy's clothes too, I have enough for twins! Let me know if belly belt will be helpful. Well done on all the gardening, I am rubbish at that, want to do something with ds1 this summer as he loves it but neither dp nor I have made an effort yet!

jabberwocky · 13/05/2008 20:30

A girl! congrats AQ She'll be quite the little princess with 3 brothers. Or, what I am saying? Quite a tomboy more like.

bebespain, is it still gunky? It's generally very straightforward as they just have to open the little membrane. Maybe just hard to tell yet? You're probably right about him picking up something at the hospital. grrr on your behalf. We always have to syringe in meds at our house.

Indith, I was quite tired with both pregnancies. Maybe you'll get that second trimester burst.

Lennied, can't believe how much you've done with your garden! And pregnant on top of that. Quite the superwoman

LenniEd · 13/05/2008 20:45

I was about to charity shop a few girls bits as we have far too much even if we have another girl. Most of them are in spotless condition as they weren't particular favourites with DD - you know how you end up putting the same few things on them all the time and by the time you remember you've got something else it is too small! I'd be more than happy to post them to you AQ, and you can always charity shop anything you don't want?

bebespain · 13/05/2008 21:09

Thanks ladies for your kind words - it really helps! You´re all so sweet

Maybe I´m jumping the gun when I say the op hasn´t worked but it has that "film" of liquid again and the tears keep coming just like before. I´ve got a check up at the hospital next week so will find out for definite then...

Yes I tried the abs in a syringe but his mouth was firmly closed so couldn´t get it in Tried disguising it in some yoghurt but he wouldn´t be fooled! He´s also off his food which is another worry

Gosh I remember how debilitating pregnancy tiredness is. I was so lucky as I had no sickness or nausea but the tiredness in the 1st tm was incredible - I could have literally slept all day if I hadn´t been working. I often wonder how I´d cope if I got pg again with a toddler

castlesintheair · 14/05/2008 07:42

Aww, that's lovely AQ. I hope you are getting to grips with the whole thing now. You will be fine you know that don't you and you always have us. Girls are fab btw ... excuse me whilst I go and break another fight over barbies up ...

Back again! No AQ couldn't get DD2 into a morning nursery place until Sept 09. She is completely adorable with a constant smile and dimples but just sooooo 'capable' iykwim!

Put your feet up Indith and other pg'ers. Your body is telling you to. Just drop everything and have a kip.

Hugs Bebespain. Hope LO is better soon.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 14/05/2008 08:55

Babystep - what's for dinner ? Add to morning routine

Mornign all. DH back. Previous calm now turned to chaos Glad he's home though.

Just waiting for DD to get chicken pox. My extimate is Friday ...

Indith · 14/05/2008 10:09

I am bloodless, they are checking iron, glucose and thyroid. Ho hum.

Girl news is lovely AQ

BP you are not a patronising old trout!

Should we open a pox sweepstake FGS? Fingers crossed for you.

Books are open, shall attempt at least half an hour before I give in and sleeeeeeeeep.

OP posts:
FunkyGlassSlipper · 14/05/2008 11:02

oooh yes Indith. DD1s pox came out Friday morning 12 days ago. So, when will DD2 get hers?

Elibean · 14/05/2008 13:34

My bet is Monday, what are the odds, Indith?

Actually, dd's friend (she was sitting next to all morning on Monday) came down with CP yesterday, so I'm also counting days. And wondernig if dd2 will catch it just in time to wreck her (very belated) Naming Party

Indith, glad you got checked - I was far, far more tired with dd2 and am sure it wasn't just age; I think I had very high hormone levels, but also running around after dd1 definitely played major part. And lack of sleep, in your case, over the past year, undoubtedly will too! Hope they docs can help though, and that you can rest a bit.

AQ love your news.

Back on the mend, thank you, went swimming this morning which helped, I think.

Lennied, your garden sounds wonderful ...

Elibean · 14/05/2008 13:36

Bebespain, your poor ds and poor you - I hope the duct part clears up with the antibiotics and general health; FWIW I have always given dd2 her antibiotics in her milk, she spits squirted stuff with deadly accuracy. Will he take milk still?

babypowder · 14/05/2008 18:33

Right, all you pregnant ladies, stop everything. Have a Milo (still haven't found out what that is), a large bar of G&B for the iron, and a proper rest. Stop gardening, studying, worrying - everything. Now. Just for a little while.

There. I feel better for that!

On another subject, I got the job! It's going to be reviewed in 6 months, so I don't know if I'm , or , but on balance I'm quite pleased. Nice little pay rise, more accountability and loads of opportunity.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 14/05/2008 18:36

Well done BP!

And I second the 'have a rest' sentiment.

jabberwocky · 14/05/2008 19:31

bp, I;m so happy for you!

Indith, hope they find something to perk you up. My thyroid levels went really low with ds2 and I was exhausted until they got it sorted out. But I have thyroid prob's anyway.

FGS - I'm guessing 10 days out from dd1 on the pox.

LenniEd · 14/05/2008 19:38

Have just found out my sister is pregnant! And due 3 days before me!! So excited!!

Am having a rest this evening too Eli/BP - no G&B, but had a couple of those G&B flapjack biscuits this morning - yummy doesn't cover it! And have only planted some seeds, onions and a redcurrant plant today. A gentle day by recent standards.

Hope there are some answers soon Indith.

LenniEd · 14/05/2008 20:18

I meant to add - it is so lovely to have you telling me to rest . It makes it feel justified and I'll enjoy this evening that bit more now.

bebespain · 14/05/2008 20:36

Thanks castles and Eli

bp - CONGRATULATIONS on the job, well done!

Lenni - how exciting for you sister and you!

The good news is DS is much, much better today. He slept for 14 nours non-stop last night and what a difference it made, he must have really needed it! I managed to get him to take some of the ABs hidden in ice-cream today but blimey I had to give him a stonking portion just to disguise the bitterness
I tried a bit myself and it really is bitter, no wonder he goes into a frenzy when I offer it. Don't know why they can't just give ABs in tablet form to be crushed up... Anyway enough of my moaning...

We even managed a trip to the park today and he had his first go on the big slide (I was so nervous - how pathetic)- aww his face was a picture. Made me feel all warm and lovely inside

Right, off to bake some fish!

bebespain · 14/05/2008 20:39

Oh I'll second the large bar of G&B BP! It works wonders for me whatever the ailment, pity I'm all out and have to make do with some poor Spanish man's version of chocolate - desperate times an' all.....
