Oooops no room to link to old thread!

Lol at AQ forgetting that she is pg Sure the madness will pass. And don't worry about my chocolate supply, I live round the corner from Tesco

Jabber I think you should pop ds in the post and I'll sned him on holiday with all my clibing friends, they do similarly dangerous stunts on a larger scale. He'd have a ball

good luck with the scan, fgs, hope things get better with the girls soon.
jabber, that sound vv stressful, i hate house selling and buying! dp and I were looking at a book of australian federation houses the other night, do they have that style where you are - we want to live in on of those in Melbourne (thinking of relocating in time) we wish!
Indith, hope you're resting up - gosh you and dp limping around! I'm never careful looking out for ice, we had to have the back spray washed as I slipped a few times out to the dryer in the garage. I also fancied the evo, toss up between that and a kozy, can't find one to rent or try anywhere tho, can't get to a sling meet.

castlesintheair · 17/02/2008 12:25

FGS, so sorry to hear about your poor DD. My friend's son has had gastro problems on and off since birth and they have finally been resolved aged 5 and a half years by a visit to a gatro specialist. He isn't having any medication at all but they have cut out apple juice and he has a small bottle of Actimel every day. Has worked wonders. I can't recommend going straight to the top and seeing a specialist enough. It has changed all their lives so much and I feel quite indignant that they were fobbed off for so long that it was "behavioural". Good luck.

AQ, don't worry. If I can do it anyone can Seriously, if you need to chat, you know where I am.

Had a joint birthday party for DS (6) and DD1 (4) yesterday. 45 little angels and a roaring success, if I say so myself Do feel like I need a lie down in a darkened room though ... for the next year preferably.

jabberwocky · 17/02/2008 13:47

Thanks guys, I really shouldn't be stressing yet. We have until the end of the year before things get tricky. I'll post a link on facebook just in case you know of anyone wanting to move to the southern US

jabberwocky · 18/02/2008 03:47

Link's on. I've really got to get on facebook more often. I haven't updated my pictures at all

bebespain · 18/02/2008 08:45

Hi all - just back from a blissful time in the UK but feeling somewhat homesick again

Anyway DS isn´t allowing me much time to mope and is emptying all my kitchen cupboards as I type! He slept right through last night and wow what a difference that makes both to him and me. Pray he´s turned a corner...

I just posted another thread elsewhere about baby poo (sorry if this is TMI) but here goes.... DS is still being very food fussy but manages 2 poos everyday and they´re what I would describe as quite sloppy, certainly not firm They are very plentiful too Does anyone know if this is the norm...?? I need some reassurance before I whisk him off to the Docs...

Sending "Get Better Soon" wishes to any poorly LOs

jabberwocky · 18/02/2008 16:24

ds2 is having some really loose poos atm. One day I had to hose him of in the shower, lol. They can do that when teething.

Ds2 has also slept thru some lately and it really is wonderful, isnt it?

FunkyGlassSlipper · 18/02/2008 16:37

DD2 has some very scary poos. Partly down to jabs but also if they have a cold then where do you think all the mucous that they swallow somes out and teething causes lots more acid so that can affect poo too. Gosh, I sound like a poo expert!

DD2 is thankfully brighter today. She had a good morning at my friend's who looks after her while I work. And I took them both out to Costa Coffee this afternoon for muffins

bebespain · 18/02/2008 18:01

LOL at Jabber and FGS a.k.a poo expert - !

Yes, Jabber it really is wonderful and DS has been so much calmer and happier for it, we´ve had a lovely day and it makes me realise just how important the sleep thing is. He´´s been like a diferent baby today so I´m crossing everything that tonight is going to be the same...

DS is definitely teething AGAIN so maybe that explains the copious amounts of poo...

Glad to hear DD2 is feeling better today, FGS. Am so envious of your muffins at Costa Coffee, t´is my fave

FunkyGlassSlipper · 18/02/2008 18:04

After the last week I felt I deserved it.

Sleep can be amazing. When DD2 started waking again last week it nearly killed me.

I feel so much happier having reduced my hours to 1 morning at work and DD2 not going to childminder she doesnt like. I dont even mind that I'll have to work an evening or over some weekends

Indith · 18/02/2008 19:55

Ah poo, such a wonderful topic of discussion. Ds has done normal poos today so hoping that whatever little tummy upset he has had is over. Spent a good hour screaming blue murder at us last night. Just what you want!

Sleep really does make happy babies and happy mummies. I am terrible at the moment as we are not quite back to our wonderful 13 hour stretches and I'm feeling it!

A very exciting day for us, ds dropped his banana, looked down at the floor, waved at it and said "ba boo". Ok ok not quite there yet I know but I'm easily impressed

OP posts:
Olihan · 18/02/2008 20:15

Aw bless the 'ba boo', Indith. That's close enough for me . Ds2 has lots of 'words' that have definite meanings but sound nothing like the actual word. I know what he means though, and amazingly, so do ds1 and dd - they're better interpreters than me sometimes.

I have very exciting news too - my sister has asked me to be her birth partner! I'm so chuffed, if I'm never going to give birth myself again then this is definitely the next best thing. Conveniently she's due over dh's 2 week Easter holiday so there's no childcare issues either. Roll on the end of March [impatient].

FGS, sounds like your days are picking up at last. Have you had some sun where you are? That's helping my mood no end.

Bebe, ds2 still has squishy poos most of the time too. I'm assuming it's normal!

bebespain · 18/02/2008 21:02

Here´s to squishy poos then! (Love that word and want to say it over and over again now!!)

GodzillasRockinRollinBumcheek · 18/02/2008 22:42

Lol @ the squishy poos

DD3 is certainly producing more - but she is now (at long last!) seeming to eat properly. And not just mush either.

Has anybody else's lo got an aversion to cheese? And does anyone have their lo on sandwiches yet? DD3 gets tired of chewing after quite a short time and just throws it all on the floor. Makes me wonder if using the basket under the highchair for toys was so great an idea

Hope all the los are well, hope the ones that aren't get better soon.

Sorry i'm rushing this a bit but got some issues and not able to stay on MN long tonight.

jabberwocky · 19/02/2008 00:10

Thanks, Indith. Wish you were in the market

Ds2 is not terribly fond of cheese which surprised me. He'll take little micro bites of my sandwich but hasn't shown much interest otherwise.

Indith · 19/02/2008 09:51

Wow Oli that is very exciting!

Ds likes cheese on toast but not so interested in cheese.

Not sure what is going on witht he boy at the moment, he is all snotty again which does not help! Eating ok but only small amounts, happy enough during the day but he woke again last night and screamed at me then woke again later. I didn't take him to the Dr as his ear had stopped iozing again over the weekend but during the screaming last night he was sticking his finger in his ear

But if his ear was still bothering him surely he would not be so happy during the day? And if it has stopped oozing then that would suggest it is now middle ear and not outer ear and does middle ear not affect balance?

Oh I don't know. He is currently engaging me in a game of peekaboo around the laptop screen, not a whole lot wrong now!

OP posts:
babypowder · 19/02/2008 13:22

Indith, ears are such difficult things. It may not be his middle ear at all, but a tooth or something else bothering him and making him stick his fingers in his ears. Who knows? As long as he is able to stand up and isn't being sick I wouldn't worry too much (inner ear infections can make you very dizzy and vomit-y) He's probably just completely fed up with feeling poorly you poor things.

Ah, now, poos I know something about! DD2 is the queen of poo - at least 3 a day, usually very squishy. Probably because she eats everything in sight. (As an aside, while we were away this weekend I used disposables, and she managed to leak poo through them. That never happens with my totsbots)

Must read the whole thread now. Glad I found you all (not that I'm paranoid. No, I didn't think you were hiding. Oh no )

babypowder · 19/02/2008 13:23

And DD2 adores cheese in any form. She is particularly fond of stilton That probably explains the poos!

jabberwocky · 19/02/2008 13:48

Indith, when we were going through ds2's 6 week saga with a double ear infection he seemed pretty happy during the day most of the time but he would cry and stick his finger in his ear at night. I would take him in and just get them to take a look.

babypowder · 19/02/2008 14:00

Sorry, Indith - didn't mean to sound dismissive . Ears are a nightmare - honestly. Take him to the docs and get him checked - they can take ages to clear up. I had persistent ear infections as a child, and had perforated ear drums more than once.

Indith · 19/02/2008 19:53

Not dismissive at all BP, was pretty much what I was thinking re wobbles and sick. Glad you found us too

Jabber thanks for that. Suppose there is always so much going on during the day that it keeps their mind off things.

Though today ds has spent the day with a brilliant red cheek on the other side and has been drooling copiously. Am guessing teething not yet over! Add huge amounts of snot and a hacking cough that he always gets with a cold and we have a very unhappy baby. Only at night obviously has been a little star all day [hmm He has already been up once this evening and I can hear him coughing and shouting out in pain each time

Suppose I shall have to wait til the cold dies down and if he doesn't return to full working service then I shall blame ears and drag him to the Dr again.

Hi all,
Sorry been awol for a while - well the SIL and BIL, four kids and 2 dogs have been here for 4 1/2 weeks so I've prob been awol for that long!
Congrats AQ! So are you on the September or October thread? Maybe see you there [sly grin].
Bebespain, ds's poos have been sloppy since he was 10 months, mentioned it to dietician and she said better that way round than to not go - and I believe her having a 2.5yo in the house who can go 6 days between! Only problem is his 2/3 sloppy poos are making me throw up! and have given up on washables until this nausea subsides. Apparantly I'm not to worry until he is at least 2.
Ds had 12mo jabs today, and now is crying out in his sleep for the 3rd time! Have to run so he doesn't wake the other 2 boys up...

babypowder · 19/02/2008 22:42

Ooh, Sacha How far along are you, then? (I can't imagine dealing with squishy poos and morning sickness. Sending much sympathy)

Indith, hope you all get some rest tonight. Am very jealous of all of you who have organised, regular, early bedtimes for your LOs. I've never managed to crack that one.

babypowder · 19/02/2008 22:44

And in the best BP tradition of posting twice in quick succession (I always seem to get sidetracked by your infinitely more exciting lives and forget what I came on here for)

I keep forgetting to brush DD2s teeth. Are they all going to fall out?

I'm getting one of my 6 baby teeth extracted tomorrow. It started to disintegrate after I had DD1 and it has finally given up the ghost. Still, I suppose I shouldn't begrudge the good 36 year's service it has done!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 20/02/2008 08:33

Congratulations Sacha

Things here ok. I think I've had a blocked tear duct in my eye . I just want us all to be healthy

DD1s tummy seems to be improving without milk and apple juice. I got some probiotic strawberry milkshake which she seemed happy to drink (I told her it was a special treat ) . Anyone got any idea how long I should keep her off milk/apple juice and how I would go about reintroducing them to see which one is causing the problem?

DD2 seems brighter thankfully. Although quite clingy which I guess is to be expected after being poorly.

Have a nice day everyone!

SachaF · 20/02/2008 10:50

Aah, littly pressing keys so my post has dissappeared!
