Oooops no room to link to old thread!

Lol at AQ forgetting that she is pg Sure the madness will pass. And don't worry about my chocolate supply, I live round the corner from Tesco

Jabber I think you should pop ds in the post and I'll sned him on holiday with all my clibing friends, they do similarly dangerous stunts on a larger scale. He'd have a ball

Try again.
10 weeks
I keep forgetting to use a toothbrush here too - he has one of those plastic ones to play with in the bath but I don't brush his teeth after bedtime milk or morning or anything. AND he's still drinking milk out of a bottle, refuses it in a cup . Shan't tell the HV that (not that I see them much tho 0

Indith · 20/02/2008 12:39

Congratulations Sacha!

Am wailing along with FGS, I have man flu again (if ds gives me a cold then it is man flu fight?) and feel like poo and ds was up many lots last night.

Ds gets his teeth brushed once a day, dp does them after his bath but I always forget in the morning. His teeth look so odd, the molars are so big now but he still only has 2 middle teeth on the bottom and 4 on top so there are these huge gaps before big molars!

Sacha at least yours drinks milk. Ds doesn't drink anything but water, have totally failed to get him to see cows milk as a nice long drink. If I try to sneak it in he gives me a filthy look.

Anyone else finding theirs have gone from being happy to try anything to being suspicious of new things? So hard to get ds to eat anything he hasn't tried before these days. Thing is he had been ill and off his food for so long (well he is off food again after just 2 days back on it!) that his diet had been quite limited but now he seems suspicious of things he used to eat. Grrr. Am going to end up with a child that is 90% spag bol at this rate.

That's great, Sacha! Pretty nifty that you and AQ are due so close to each other

I keep forgetting ds2's teeth as well. I try to do it at the same time as ds1's but if that doesn't happen then it usually doesn't get done

Indith, once ds2 had been ill for so long it took forever to get him to eat again. He is also not terribly fond of milk. I've taken to putting a little strawberry syrup in with it and that helps. He likes yogurt drinks a bit better but would prefer to just have mommy milk. I have completely abandoned weaning him off bm atm b/c I'm so lazy...

SachaF · 20/02/2008 13:53

I'm using soya formula milk rather than cows, the taste is quite different (and I'll be getting it free on prescription soon ), I just found bf'ing too tiring with being pg, now dh gets ds in the morning and gives him his bottle in our bed.
Indith, at least your's drinks water! , today it's been apple juice, and fizzy blackcurrant and apple water, I stopped giving him just water (which he'd only have about 10ml a day of!) when the IL's moved in - he kept stealing all the other kiddies' drinks!

Nice one, FGS

I'm feeling a little guilty atm. Dh and ds1 have been away since Sunday and life has been SO easy. I'm currently trying to decide which of them is the bigger energy vampire

FunkyGoldStar · 20/02/2008 17:31

Jabber. It is easy when it's just you as you dont make as much mess and you can clear as you go. Then in the evening you can truly relax.

castlesintheair · 20/02/2008 18:47

FGS, my friend's son has given up apple juice for good. Apparently it is one of THE major cause of gatro problems. Glad there is improvement.

Congrats Sacha!

I find DH the most demanding of my 4 children, the week days are so much easier

babypowder · 20/02/2008 21:45

You're singing my song, Jabber & Castles!

Olihan · 20/02/2008 22:35

Congratulations Sacha. Don't desert us for the A/N threads will you!

Castles/Jabber/BP I'm with you on that one!

castlesintheair · 21/02/2008 08:58

Glad I'm not the only one. DH has taken the day off which at 9am seems will be spent in bed. I on the other hand have been up since 6am with 2 vomiting daughters. Oh to have been born a man ... I love him really

FunkyGoldStar · 21/02/2008 12:44

Blimey. DH has mentioned how cute newborn babies are twice this week. Then he realised what he'd said and went white

Indith · 21/02/2008 15:15

Aw bless him FGS.

Castles I think that by about 8 I would have taken a spewing daughter, fed her some breakfast and held her over the bed with the dh in. Think that would have done the trick Slightly less flippantly I do hope the vomit has calmed down a little and your day has improved since your last post.

I think that on the whole life is easier for me when dp is around. Mainly because he cooks and because on Sundays he gets shoved out of the house with ds and knows not to return til dinner time. When I've graduated I may change my mind as the house is definitely cleaner and generally better organised when he isn't here but for now I need the study time!

Speaking of which, I have finished lectures for the day and have just been let loose on the photocopier by a lovely lecturer so I am going to peruse my exciting verb related spoils of war.

Hope sickness all gone Castles...

I just ordered a light box. I am sure most of my despondency is down to SAD.Every year in February I have this realisation and then do nothing about it. Boots have 20% off so I just ordered one. I'm also getting DH to take a few days off in March so we can all go away for a few days. Not really a holiday but a change will help.

He has come home early to do baths as I'm aching all over from the onset of yet another cold

But on a positive note DD2 is back to happy form and she is adorable. She pointed to DD1s nose, hair, mouth, hands and tummy on request this afternoon. Clearly she has my clever genes . She still cant be bothered to walk but she's pretty communicative. Totally opposite to DD1 who didnt talk until past 2 and I'm appreciating different things this time which is lovely.

accessorizequeen · 21/02/2008 21:19

Ooh, Sacha congrats! You sly thing you. I think I"ll be due October (haven't actually been to the drs yet as in denial) whereas you're sept I guess?

I won't desert you guys! You'll kick me out cos of all my pg moaning...

FGS, dh keen on another? Goodness, it's funny when they go goey. DP is v.keen on the new baby, really looking forward to it. He's trying to get me to be more positive but in retrospect I've been like this with the other 2 (I seem to remember posting on here at 10 weeks because I was so miserable with antenatal depression) so it's hormones. How can I be soooo bloomin' tired when it's the size of a broad bean. House a tip, nothing getting done, don't care!

FGS, lightbox sounds v.v.good idea for you and we're trying to get away for a long weekend in March for the same reason. Bless your little dd too.

Castles, is vomiting over? Did dh do anything today??? Can't believe you'd say during the week without him is easier!

Jabber, where are photos of your house again, I must have a nosey.

jabberwocky · 22/02/2008 02:10

AQ, I can so remember those tired days. Can't imagine going through it now with both dcs.

FGS, I'm glad dd2 is better. She's a little trooper, isn't she?

AQ, the link is on our group on Facebook. There's a little camara that shows more pictures. I sent out a little "Come buy my house" energy last night during the lunar eclipse Here's hoping it works!

accessorizequeen · 22/02/2008 15:06

jabber, you have a craftsman house I am soooo jealous! I love British Arts and Crafts, there's a place in the Lakes called Blackwell which is my favourite place ever! Such a pity you have to move, looks gorgeous.
I am just about falling over with tiredness at present despite lots of sleep as I can't make it past 10pm. It's an odd kind of tiredness, the pg one but I'm lucky that's the worst thing for me the nausea's only mild. And it will be over soon!

babypowder · 22/02/2008 17:03

AQ, (and Sacha) you are so amazing, coping with little ones and being pg. I can barely get through the day at the moment - never last past 10:00 - and I don't have pregnancy as a reason!

How are you feeling today, FGS? And how are DS's ears Indith?

I'm really struggling with my back. I'm waiting for an appointment with the pain clinic, but in the meantime I was given Tramadol. Which I took for a week, and I have now taken back to the chemist. Evil things. Looks like I'll have to go back to co-codamol I do feel sorry for myself. Added to which a cold and sticky eyes (not conjunctivitis yet, I don't think, as it only happens in my sleep), and I'm a real joy to be around!

DD2 can now point to roughly the right body parts when we play 'Heads, shoulders, knees and toes', and she does that gorgeous little 'twinkling' thing when we sing 'Twinkle twinkle'. Aah. She is just the most gorgeous child (can you tell she's asleep at the moment )

jabberwocky · 22/02/2008 19:47

AQ, you're a woman after dh's heart! He always feels that I don't appreciate all the work he's done to restore the house. I guess living through the restoration just wore me out to the point that I have a real love/hate thing for it

Thinking about you and Sacha almost makes me broody - but I'm fighting it off, lol.

bp, HAve you tried acupuncture or chiropractic manipulations to help in the meantime while you wait to go in for the other tests? Back pain is soooo awful. I have a bulging disc that acts up sometimes and it is truly just the worst pain ever. Once I could only stay in one position until the pain relievers kicked in. I started freaking out that I was going to have to sit like that all night. Luckily it was just for a couple of hours or so.

Indith · 22/02/2008 20:00

Oh BP you poor thing, hope that appointment comes along soon.

When I picked ds up from creche today the manager told me, laughingly that at afternoon snack ds had launched himself at his toast, stuffed it in his mouth as quickly as possible and then gobbled a biscuit. I couldn't believe it since he has been a nightmare around food. Then I realsied he had a new load of goo pouring from his ear, it must have just exploded again during the day, the relief ds is feeling is palpable! He has had a good dinner and today we introduced the concept of supper before bed which he has never wanted before! All fingers and limbs crossed for tonight! (But yes he will be going to the Dr on Monday and we won't leave without ABs!)

Hugs and hot cocoa/milo for the tired pg ones

I've left dp downstairs drawing templates and making samples for my Rainbow fun day tomorrow so I had better crack on with what I came up here to do and go rescue him before he goes mad drawing 30 trasure Islands and eye patches

Indith, when ds2 had his ear infection but before the eardrum burst his temperature in the infected ear was a good degree and a half higher than the uninfected side. I don't know if that's a reliable way of testing but it sounds as though your ds's ear drum has gone too. Ds2 was like a new child the second it burst. Ear infections are horrible, aren't they?

FGS, hope the light box helps. Bless dd2, what a treasure.

Ds2 has lots of new tricks too. If you ask him where his tummy is he lifts up his t'shirt (thanks, dd) and he knows his nose, ears, mouth, hands and toes. I nearly crashed the car yesterday because we had a kids' CD on and he started doing the actions to Incey Wincey Spider. It was so cute and I was much to busy watching him in the rear view mirror to look at the road!

He was at his Granny's today and started shouting 'baa' at the sheep at the end of her garden, then he said 'papa' to his Papa so the ILs were very proud!

1 week to go before dh is home for good - WAHEY .

babypowder · 22/02/2008 20:46

Oli, you must be counying the days! (They may create more work, but it is lovely to have them around!)

Glad DS is feeling better, Indith. It is always such a relief when the eardrum goes and all the goo can come out.

Any tips for getting LOs to sleep happily in their cots. DD2 has developed a real aversion to hers, and would much rather be in our bed full time. I can't go through this again we're still battling DD1 on the bed front. I would love to spend one whole night with only DH in the bed with me.
I bought one of those VTech lullaby-with-lights things, and she loves it. Sadly, she thinks it's something to dance to.

babypowder · 22/02/2008 20:47

Of course, Oli, you must be counting the days

Elibean · 22/02/2008 21:17

Oh oh congratulations Sacha!

Look what happens when I go away, eh? Two pregnant and several broodies....

Am back, totally jetlagged (sleepless night on plane, managed surprisingly active day on one hour's nap) but definitely the better for two weeks of sunshine. That was by far the best holiday I've had for five years - won't be doing it again for some time, but am full of Caribbean chill factor atm and don't even care much about that

Only negatives were dd2 catching some horrid chest infection on plane over, resulting in ABs, steroids, and god knows what else on second day...couple of scary, hard to breathe nights (but fine during the day, so am wondering if there's an asthmatic component?? post RSV, as it were???) but she's eaten like a horse, got two new teeth, and loads of attention from everyone at the hotel cooing over her so not too bad. Then she started again a few days after stopping ABs, so is now back on them and going to get checked over next week.

Have only had a minute of brain-frazzled time to scan posts (having finally tracked down new thread ), and have no memory to speak of tonight, but: FGS, dh has had a light box for years and its totally changed our winters - no exaggeration - hope yours helps. And as for dhs and whether tis easier or not with them around, I'm mostly with Indith.

BP, huge sympathy for your back....poor back...I don't know what Tramadol is, but if its one up from co-codamol your back must be bad. I had to take Nurofen plus one night to get mine out of spasm (after carting dd2 on one hip to GPs down road whilst dd1 tugged on opposite hand) and thats extreme, for me - really hope the pain clinic helps, and soon.

And may all gunky ears, vomiting LOs, and otherwise tired or poorly smalls, and their Mums, feel better fast...must go to bed before I start babbling incoherently (or am I already?!?)....xxx

Olihan · 22/02/2008 21:22

BP, ds2 went through the cot aversion thing a few weeks ago and dh did a kind of gradual retreat with him. Started off putting him in the cot, patting his bottom, stopping, patting again and shushing if he fussed but staying by the cot.

Next step was putting him down staying by the cot, shushing if he fussed but not doing too much in the way of touching.

I think he then started to move away from the cot and shushing from wherever he was stood but making sure ds2 could see him.

He ended up standing by the door, then on the landing, shushing when he fussed.

Now ds2's pretty good at going into his cot and falling asleep by himself.

He still wakes up a gazillion times a night but he stays in his cot .

Also just realised I didn't mention your poor back in my last post - I intended too but the sieve that has replaced my brain forgot it. Trama-thingy is horrible stuff. DH was given it for a bad back a few years back and was just zombified on it. I hope it gets sorted for you soon.
