Oooops no room to link to old thread!

Lol at AQ forgetting that she is pg Sure the madness will pass. And don't worry about my chocolate supply, I live round the corner from Tesco

Jabber I think you should pop ds in the post and I'll sned him on holiday with all my clibing friends, they do similarly dangerous stunts on a larger scale. He'd have a ball

SachaF · 29/02/2008 19:02

ooh, fgs, congrats, i'm sure it will be well worth the driving.
I've got ds down for the village preschool already - they're oversubscribed already for this sept let alone the jan and easter intakes! seems kinda silly registering a 1 year old but at least he's in for next sept!

accessorizequeen · 29/02/2008 19:18

Having trouble staying awake long enough to even come on here...
Magnolia, I'm glad you've come back - was thinking of you the other day. Sorry things have been so crap for you lately and that ds's sleeping still not improved. Is there a sleep clinic near you, it was fab with ds1 who didn't sleep through until this age. Just knowing that it would be solved at some point made me feel better.
FGS, ouch! I hope that at the end of it they can promise you a fixed knee though? Good news about school!
Indith, how is little ds?
Spina, yes, I think that reasoning is perfectly sound, he'll go for it I must say though if I had the choice I would have left it longer, say 2.6 yrs b/t them but I'm too old for that option. Do you think you'd want 3 boys or a change? I really like the sound of 3 boys and try not to look at the pink clothes in shops anymore!

jabberwocky · 29/02/2008 19:26

Poor bp It seems like ds2 will never get these 3 to come through that he is working on. Still just sore gummy bumps.

Huge congrats, on the school FGS!! I am just getting ready to pack for my school admission adventure. Tomorrow I'm driving to the town we are moving to in May - about 8 hours away. Then I'll be camping out in front of the school Sunday night to (hopefully) be one of the first 30 parents to turn in an application It's so crazy I can't really get my head around it. I just keep going through the motions of what has to be done. A friend from where we live now is going to go with me and sit for part of the night and then some good friends there already are going to take turns for the rest of the time so at least I won't be alone.

Indith · 29/02/2008 19:59

Bloody Hell Jabber that sounds insane? I take it school admissions are even more mental other your end than they are here!

Congrats on your school joy FGS.

AQ I can just see you with 3 boys Sure a pink one would be just as lovely though (except with 2 big brothers she would have to be a total tomboy)

Ds seems much. much happier totay and was really enjoying his food. Today was the last of the ABs but there is still some gunk so really hoping it will settle down!

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 29/02/2008 20:14

Yep, it's totally insane. the thing is, it's a magnet school. Meaning it's a really excellent school AND it's in the public school system i.e. free. So competition abounds to get your kid in. And it's totally first come, first served. They stamp your application with the date and time as you turn it in.

babypowder · 01/03/2008 20:32

Jeez, Jabber - here's hoping it stays dry for you.

Congrats, FGS - you must be dlighted.

Glad DS is more chipper, Indith.

And so pleased to see you Mags - we really missed you.

Turns out I'm not in teething hell at all - DD2 has a virus (and a tooth coming though) She's got a funny white tongue, loads of ulcers on the inside of her lips and on her tongue, stinky breath and she's drooling like you wouldn't believe. She can't sleep for more than 30mins at a time. We're hammering the Calpol and ibuprofen (last Calpol at 6:45, last Ibuprofen at 8:15 - there, I'll remember now ) She can't eat ore BF, but is managing to drink chocolate milk and water. I feel like a zombie

still, Mother's Day tomorrow

Indith · 01/03/2008 21:06

Oh BP your poor DD Magic how she can still drink chocolate milk though Hope she gets well soon.

Jabber that is seriously insane. Best of luck.

babypowder · 02/03/2008 09:29

Just had breakfast in bed! DD1 made me toast with marmalade and a glass of orange juice (DH made me some strong coffee ) and then they all stood around while I ate it

DH, for reasons best known to himself, then went downstairs leaving the DDs with me ...

Indith · 02/03/2008 13:47

Aw bless BP

I on the other hand snapped at dp for doing everything wrong when ds woke at 4.10am (but seriously would you not change the nappy and try to resettle him before taking him downstairs to see if he was hungry? (he went to bed without much dinner as was shattered)) then went to church parade to which all of one Rainbow showed up

Advantage of church though is that I do at least have a couple of daffs

OP posts:
babypowder · 02/03/2008 13:54

Indith, the Thinking Day service last week was very poorly attended as well. I think it's quite sad.

(Have to admit that I skipped church this week, but Rainbows hadn't organised anything so I didn't feel too bad)

Indith · 02/03/2008 14:24

It just annoys me, we go once a term that is all. Just 3 times a year. Most go to church anyway, is it really that hard to go to a different church 3 times a year? The Brownie leader is catholic yet she manages to come! We don't expect them all to be Christian and church going (not a religious organisation after all!) but the church supports the 3 units and is enthusastic about them. Going 3 times a year is a way of saying thank you and showing our support for them in return. They have just bought new flags for us all FGS! Those things cost a fortune!

Anyway parents' meeting on Wednesday, they are going to feel very chastened by the end of it!

OP posts:
FunkyGoldStar · 02/03/2008 21:26

Thanks everyone. We are delighted about the school.

Jabber - your school situations sounds scandalous! I hope you get there first tomorrow morning!

Indith - glad DS is on the mend.

BP - hope DD gets better soon. Sounds awful.

Indith - you are right about the church thing. It wouldnt be too much to ask.

Well, I got 2 cards for mothers day. DD1 wrote 'Mummy' and 'her name' in it [proud mummy emoticon]. DD2 scribbled in hers My parents came for the day and SIL is still here. We've had a lovely weekend.

Elibean · 03/03/2008 10:16

Oooo so much to catch up on..

FGS, that is great news re the school! Am so glad for you, know how nervewracking all that is (and am blanking it for another 3 weeks ).

V glad Indith's ds on the mend too - seems like its been a long one, eh?

But BP, poor dd2...ouch, and poor you being zombified, hope she's on the mend. IME, ulcers peak at about day 3/4, then suddenly start to go away fast and are gone by day 5. Must try choc milk next time I get one..

Jabber, how did it go? Fingers crossed for you as I type (metaphorically)..

Mothers Day morning was lovely in the Elibean household, even though dh's plan to take both girls out to fetch croissants and let me sleep was slightly marred by dd2 having the runs and yelling MAMAMAMA at 7.30 till I got up to help I got a portrait of myself by dd1, with her name written in huge capital letters inside (primary teachers will hate me) and a large bunch of flowers and a card from dh saying I'm a much better mother to our girls than I tend to think I am, which made me cry. I think I've been giving myself a hard time recently

Anyone else's back done in from bending double to give LO two fingers to hold? BP, you needn't answer that one, I trust you're not even trying to do that particular acrobatic!

FunkyGoldStar · 03/03/2008 13:42

Forgot to say, Baby Glass is WALKING as of last week and got her first pair of shoes on Saturday!

babypowder · 03/03/2008 18:36

Good on ya, Baby Glass!

(Eli, the joy of being less than 5' tall means that I don't have to bend at all to help my LOs take their first steps!)

I can't believe how cold it is today - I'm sure it's meant to be spring.

Elibean · 03/03/2008 19:19

Spring? Pah - everyone around me has sinusitis, a cough, or a red nose. Although the daffodils are scarily out, around here

BP, I'm only 5' 4", but am beginning to look like a gorilla with dangly arms....

...congratulations and deep Baby Glass!

castlesintheair · 04/03/2008 14:52

It's taken me effing ages but have uploaded photos onto facebook if anyone is interested!

Hope all is well. No time to read, school run then ballet, arrrrgh.

Indith · 04/03/2008 16:22

Well done baby glass! (or is that baby star?)

Ds is getting sooooo cheeky. Tis very cute Ah the joys of those angelic looking blond curly haired types Me mummy? Oh no it couldn't have been me, butter wouldn't melt see?

Don't give your child chilli for dinner unless you wish to spend the entire of the next day dealing with poo.

I went for coffee today, had a nice chat, got half way home (up big hill), realised we'd not paid ran back, as I got back tot he cafe my boots started rubbing. Paid (they were lovely) and walked home again. Of course by the time I got home I'd worn a nice red patch on my heel and gone through my brand new expensive tights. Grrr

accessorizequeen · 04/03/2008 19:41

BP, hope dd is better now? When I last checked in she had a virus, I think. But I know these things come and go!
Just spent 2 days at a course in Sheffield so a night away at a hotel for me. Should have enjoyed myself, but I just missed my boys! Most time I've spent away from ds2. It was weird not having to do any chores or organise things or anything for all that time, I felt quite unlike me.
Jabber, your school system is mad!!
Castles, will try and get on fb shortly to look , I have loads of photos which I put on Snapfish to get prints so can't often be bothered to put them elsewhere also!
Well done baby glass!! I think ds2 will be very soon, he's standing for longer every day pray it will be March!
Still totally forgetting I'm pg nearly all the time

SachaF · 04/03/2008 20:02

Ah how I wish I could forget I was pg! I have now had 1 sick free day! but yay for having 1!
Ds has been walking for about 3 weeks now, very confident, and if he drops something he can bend down and pick it up and carry on walking. It is a squat that an aerobics teacher would be proud of!
I'm loving this stage. [proud mummy emoticon].
Proud aunty moment now, dn4 (8mo) was wailing in his cot so I took him in bed with me and he fell asleep on me. When his mummy got home she was impressed that he was willing to sleep on anyone other than his mummy. It was very cute. AND I get to do it all again soon with dc2!!! Scan on Thursday.

babypowder · 04/03/2008 20:29

AQ - you're AQ again DD2 is on the mend, thanks. She has a funny little reedy cry at the moment due to the ulcers in her throat. Very odd when I'm used to her lusty, loud cry

Indith, I laughed when I saw you had forgotten to pay. It's the kind of thing I do all the time The coffee shops here have got used to me now.

Just had a huge row with DH because he assumed a martyred air when I asked him to pick up DD2 as my back is murder tonight. Must find my inner calmness before I go downstairs again.

babypowder · 04/03/2008 20:30

And Sacha, how exciting about the scan. I love those first scans. Am feeling a little broody ... .

Dear lord - somebody slap me!

accessorizequeen · 04/03/2008 20:43

Ooh, enjoy the scan sacha. I'm sure once I have one (registering with gp on thurs so I guess I'm owning up to it now!) I'll feel more like a mummy to be again. I just feel quite numb about everything right now, prob. just tired. I thought your sickness had eased up, good lord!

Yes, AQ again, at least I'm clear who I am on here, bp! Poor little dd with ulcers!

Elibean · 04/03/2008 22:01

bp at the reedy cry...hope she's back to ear-splitting yells soon, IYKWIM.

dd2 nearly choked at breakfast this morning, purple faced and wheezing - horrid, horrid. I had her head down in seconds, and she was able to breathe past whatever it was - but it was scary. dd1 has never been the choky sort, so this is new to me, ugh. Fine now though, and very loud this afternoon....I found a new tooth (pre-molar, though the inbetween ones at the bottom are still missing ) too...

Sacha, have a wonderful scan - reading that brought it all back! I'm very , mostly because your LO is walking - I'm feeling very un-broody thanks to dd2's various antics atm.

BP, if you feel too broody, imagine carrying a few sacks of flour around with your back so sore - does it for me

AQ, am very happy to see 'AQ' again - I kept forgetting and calling you that anyway (and no pregnancy to blame) When will your first scan be, then?

Indith, I laughed too...not at your poor heel, but the not paying? Cafes where I live must be deep in debt, given how many of us Mums of small ones there are here...

babypowder · 04/03/2008 22:21

Yippee! DD2 managed half a bowl of rice krispies and 5 oz of milk before bed! That's the most she's eaten in days [happy] I thought she was probably on the mend when she sucked on a kit kat earlier (amazing how my food-nazi tendencies desert me when faced with a child that can't eat. I've tried to tempt her with all sorts of food, including 3 types of haagen daz Still, loads for me to eat now. The Dulce de leche is to die for. Do you think I need to be pregnant to justify this?)
