I'm terrible in the kitchen. Can make great flapjacks though

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 26/01/2008 21:36

Mmmmm, I love flapjack! Hi Izzybel, I don't think we've 'met'!

Just popping back on before bed though. How are you doing?

foxythesnowman · 26/01/2008 21:37

Flapjacks are very important! And very essential! Do not underestimate the power of the flapjack!

I like flapjacks, can you tell?

Izzybel · 26/01/2008 21:42

Hi Bumperlicious! Nice to 'meet' you!
Foxy I tell myself that the oats mean that they're good for me. I don't make them all that often though as DP scoffs them all.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 26/01/2008 21:49

There is a recipe on the BLW website for a flapjack type thing which I think is just oats and pinapple juice. haven't tried it, but bought some juice in anticipation. Will go and find it now...

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 26/01/2008 21:51

Here. They can't be that bad for you...
Right off to bed with my Penny Vincenzi book

Izzybel · 26/01/2008 21:52

That sounds good. Mine has just got loooads of butter and sugar so could never give it to DD. Well not yet anyway.

Izzybel · 26/01/2008 21:53

Thanks Bumper! G'night xx

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 26/01/2008 21:53

Well, I might try them tomorrow now I found the recipe. I'll let you know if they are worth it!

LittleMissNorty · 26/01/2008 22:22

Evening all

Izzybel - my DD was born on 2nd June as well - 5am!

Jammy - well done on the sleep last night...I hope it continues

I woke up this morning at 8am to listen to DD singing on the monitor....when I went into her, she was surrounded by her soft toys and was having a lovely chat with them....

That chocolate cake sounds scrummy....

The description of the chinese takeway last night made me crave one...and it cost me £25 tonight ......so we'll have no more of that please JBM....

Izzybel · 26/01/2008 22:29

Hi Littlemissnorty! Ooh we have birthday twins . DD was born at 9.14 pm. She always wakes us up singing aswell. When you go in she's always at the top of her cot, on her tummy, playing with her teddies or sucking the label on her cot bumper. I love it when she sees you and her face breaks into a huge grin!

LittleMissNorty · 26/01/2008 22:40

Hello ....IKWYM about the smile....my DD goes to nursery 3 days a week, and the smile I get when I collect her after a hard day at work is magical

Do you do facebook Izzy? We're all on there so we can keep up with photo's of the LOs....

Off to bed now....dog is snoring and DH is on 3rd pint watching footie so get the bed to myself for a while

Night x

justbeme · 26/01/2008 22:40

Ooops sorry Norty!!!
Hi and Bye everyone!
(Got carried away ordering some photos via Costco online - it took bloody ages!!!)
Night xx

Izzybel · 26/01/2008 22:52

No I haven't been on Facebook .
Night Norty!
Was just having a look in active convos but my posts seem to get lost over there, lol.

milkyJammy · 27/01/2008 09:01

I like the sound of that flapjack recipe. Might try that in the week.

LOs singing to their toys sounds lovely. Mine has normally found her teddy from the end of the cot by morning but wakes us up by shouting rather than singing .

But I can't complain too much, as she slept through again until 5.30 this morning, and then after a feed went back to sleep for another half hour, then DH took her downstairs so I got to sleep in until 7 We've noticed that she's taking longer to get to sleep at night, but it seems to be paying off as the nights she takes longer to settle she seems to sleep through, and I'd rather have a bit of bother at 7pm than at 2am.

Am rather of lovely smiles when picking LOs up from nursery. I'm not going to get that as it'll be DH doing the nursery run. But hopefully I'll get a nice smile when I get in from work

milkyJammy · 27/01/2008 09:02

How's the eye/face/knee this morning, Bumper?

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 27/01/2008 09:32

Less swollen jammy but still raging purple!

milkyJammy · 27/01/2008 09:33

Glad the swelling is going down. Hopefully you'll be fit to face the world by next weekend?

thisisRialifebaby · 27/01/2008 10:34

OMG. Had a great night with friends, until about 1.30am, and a couple too many glasses of wine

DS1 is shadowing me round the house waiting for the perfect opportunity to lecture me on the evils of drink. He is now asking me way too complicated questions about the legal implications of a civil partnership, and if Cain and Abel only had sisters why the human race didn't die out. FFS, act your age boy!(to read "I don't know") This morning I would welcome the endless Star Wars commentary

sorry, no time to catch up, but will do later.
Have a nice Sunday. Rx

ria hope the day gets better and your hangover isn't too bad

jammy I think we do have the same baby ds2 slept till 5.30 and then went back till 7 he is slowly but surely dropping the night feeds but my norks are paying the price I thought I was going to explode this morning and was desperate for him to get on

bumper hope eye is looking a bit better your poor dh people must give him funny looks!

milkyJammy · 27/01/2008 11:07

Ria, glad you had a good time. Hope your head clears quickly.

Too much to do here. Got to get stuff ready for nursery tomorrow, plus all the normal tidying up, and we've decided we must finally make a decision about the child trust fund! But hey! it's the day for me to have an hour to myself this afternoon. Lovely long bath I think

justbeme · 27/01/2008 11:51

Are you back to work tomorrow Jammy?

thisisRialifebaby · 27/01/2008 11:52

but I bet I don't feels as rough as BF, and I didn't have to walk home in my cami top cos I spilled red wine down my blouse

I feel really silly that I got myself so wound up about it that I thought I wouldn't enjoy it, then it was really good fun. I suppose neither of us have had the time to make a proper effort to get together and we should. BFs new partner is really nice too, I'm glad we got to know each other. Also I made a massive step, BFs DS came to play early (before the grown-ups) and he was being rude and stupid like he normally is, but instead of getting wound up like normal, I nicely told him off, the next time I only looked at him and he stopped! He was fine all night after that.

DH is a hero, the food was brilliant. and there's leftovers for tonight. Yippee.

Think we are going out walking to blow away the cobwebs...
