No, I go back to work next Monday. But we're starting nursery a week early. Tomorrow is just a couple of hours then she's booked in for a full day on Tues, but we are going to make it a shortish day, then the following week it'll be full days on Mon & Tues

foxythesnowman · 27/01/2008 13:10

Ah-ha Ria! That is indeed what happened to me! I had friends over on Friday night, and was lonely of Virtual friends all day Saturday.

Good luck with the nursery Jammy

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 27/01/2008 14:40

Oh joy. we are having one of those days where dd doesn't want me to put her down or leave the room. yay. and now i have just pissed dh off by ringing him at work to make him feel bad about the lack of housework he's done and how i can't get anything done because dd cries every time i leave the room.

gahhhh! i just want to achieve something with my day!

foxythesnowman · 27/01/2008 15:07

oh dear bumper. You might as well stop fighting these feelings to achieve and resign yourself to sitting onthe sofa. Got todays papers? Use the day to catch up with current affairs and politics. Your feet might stick to the kitchen floor, but you will have knowledge and conversation!

foxythesnowman · 27/01/2008 15:29

Not to say you aren't knowledgable and don't have conver....

oh I'll get my coat...

justbeme · 27/01/2008 15:39

Good luck for tomorow at the nursery then Jammy.
Just back from a shopping trip - it was L's first time she had lunch on the go! (ie in pram) - it was only a banana, and no drink (bad mummy) - we never stop for lunch or drinks when we go out - I know it sounds stupid but it was another little "hurdle" that Ive now conquered (wtf?!!). Sometimes, Im so confident in things and other times Im not.....

She's currently asleep in the car!! better go and peel some spuds and keep an eye out!

milkyJammy · 27/01/2008 15:47

Well done for lunch out JBM.

Bumper, sometimes it is just easier to go with the flow, and it sounds like this might be one of those times. A pain I know, it's horrible when you have an idea that you're going to do such-and-such and it doesn't happen, but what can you do?

I've just had my Sunday afternoon "mummy hour" - well 55 mins as it's turned out, but I can't cast them outside for 5 minutes can I (?) so I'd better go and see what they've up to while they were out...

justbeme · 27/01/2008 16:35

Ohh that was good - DP was on baby watch and then cos i had to BF and do nappy, he peeled the spuds and parsnips (first time he's used a peeler in god knows how long!!)

Bumper, can you lay LO on her mat next to you whilst you do whatever needs to be done and talk to her etc?? or say to yourself that she'll have to sit/lie/watch tv for 5 minutes at a time whilst you do 5mins ironing or something? Then when you've managed to iron 4 things you'll feel like youve achieved abit?

milkyJammy · 27/01/2008 16:42

I have a play mat and v-shaped cushion (for safety as it's a hard wooden floor) that I take into kitchen with me for C to sit and play and watch me if I'm going to more than 5 mins or so. If I chatter while I'm cleaning/sorting laundry/whatever she'll normally sit like that for about 45 mins without getting too grumpy.

justbeme · 27/01/2008 16:58

Wow 45mins!!! Dont think Ive ever cleaned for 45mins with L around!! I normally whizz abit when she's asleep!
Dog walk round the block now beckons.

BadZelda · 27/01/2008 18:00

Matilda 7 months2 weeks.rolling sitting and crawling backwards. 2 teeth, a bit of blond hair and a whole array of babbles - including some particularly scary gasping when she's excited. She eats anything she can get her fists around and feeds mostly in the day apart from the couple of days a week I am working when she sneaks on a couple of night feeds. Trying to catch up. Just got to bumper's accident (ouch) hello!

thisisRialifebaby · 27/01/2008 18:04

hi. Have nearly levelled out my alcohol/caffine leves. I am never having a real life again!

Bumper are you feeling better?

Bugger, crying baby and tired children to bath, back later...

Right, very quick catch up...
Bumper, ouch!
Nice to see you again Brown Suga, and well done with the potty thing. I have a RL friend who had a lot of sucess with EC.
Welcome Izzybel
Ria, glad you had such a good time in the end.

Baby update:
nearly 7 1/2 months.
Was 11kgs and 67cm 5 weeks ago, I think he's got longer recently though
12-18 clothes, I kid you not
2 teeth
Very little hair
2-3 meals a day + bf whenever
No rolling or crawling but can get around to some extent. Sits but not for long periods
Always smiling and attracts small crowds in supermarkets, but that might just be Italians for you (they LOVE babies)

Sputnik · 27/01/2008 18:18

Oh and vocally just the usual gw gw raspberry stuff, and high pitched squealing, particularly at DD.

Hiya BadZ

Izzybel · 27/01/2008 18:23

Hi all! Just nipping in while dinner is cooking and baby asleep .
Hope your eye is feeling better today Bumper, ouch.
Yay for DD sleeping through Jammy! Hope nursery goes ok.
Glad you had a good night with your friends Ria!
I have done nothing all weekend, apart from the food shopping and the odd bit of cleaning!
I nearly had a heart attack before when DP announced that he was going to take the dog for a walk. He said he's going to start taking her every morning before work, to get some excercise! Wonder how long that's gonna last .
Oops, can smell tea burning, gotta go. Hope everyone has a nice Sunday evening.

justbeme · 27/01/2008 18:33

Sputnik - thats over 24lbs!!! Must be all that Pasta and Pizza!!

What dog have you got Izzy?

HellHathNoFury · 27/01/2008 18:33

Evening all
Good luck with the nursery tomorrow Jammy!
It will be fine and you will be amazed at how much you can get done

DS has now taken to screaming fast crawling around the house. There is no peace.

Izzybel · 27/01/2008 18:36

Hello Sputnik!
Oh I forgot to add, the other day that DD has 8 teeth! She's got three bottom teeth that are through properly, four top that are just cutting through and another under the gum at the bottom that looks ready to come through. I can't believe it, she just seems so young to be getting so many teeth .

Izzybel · 27/01/2008 18:38

She's a cocker spaniel Justbeme. She's lovely .

HellHathNoFury · 27/01/2008 19:06

snap Izzy! I have a cocker too!
Not so lovely, a little shit actually, but I love him dearly

Sputnik · 27/01/2008 19:12

When he was last weighed he had still only been exclusively bf'd! Possibly it's all the pasta and pizza I ate

LittleMissNorty · 27/01/2008 19:19

Blimey Sputnik - 12-18 clothes

8 teeth Izzy - bloody hell....we haven't got any here yet

Hello everyone

Sounds like DD needs a baby-walker Bumper....

CalicoHollyFlint · 27/01/2008 19:20

Evening all!

Seeing as everyone is updating I shall too!!

Ds is 7 months and a few days
Weighs 23ish lbs (I think),
One tooth,
Is crawling, sitting, pulling himself up on the furniture and cruising (bloody nightmare),
Says EEEEEEKKKKKKKK all the time,
Waves and kisses,
No hair (I produce bald babies),
Eats almost nothing, he is a boob man,
Clothes size 9-12 months.

Hope everyone is well, I've not caught up yet, so sorry if I've missed anything!

Ds has bitten me on the nip and drawn blood! It really hurts and has gone all swollen and red. The little shit! I'm not sure what I can put on it to stop it getting infected...any ideas anyone?

CalicoHollyFlint · 27/01/2008 19:22

Oh...and would I be a bad person if I had sex with dp if he lets me have a Bugaboo?
