justbeme · 25/01/2008 20:21

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 25/01/2008 21:01

Fury I am so tempted to put it on the credit card and go! But we are in a lot of debt and a grand would set us back another year in clearing it. Show me where you are going again just so I can feel really jealous!

Thanks for the sympathy . I look awful! I'm going to have to play the sleb role and wear big sunnies for the next few days - if I even leave the house! Still, it could have been worse, I thought I had broken my nose or smashed my jaw or something. 10st mass at that speed - that's a lot of weight onto my face! Probably going to feel much worse in the morning. Can only take ibruprofen.

What a range of babas we have anyway! Just shows they all do stuff when they are ready and not before.

milkyJammy · 25/01/2008 21:08

I'm sure I took ipubrofen and codeine alternately when I had bad tooth ache when C was very young Bumper. I had to almost beg the chemist to check the safety while BF though (miserable old git) but i rang NHS Direct for advice on what i could take.

LardyMardyDaisy · 25/01/2008 21:08

evening

I've been lurking this evening, trying to catch up with everything. Had DS off school all week so with him nd DD and trying to sort out the house I just haven't had the time to log on.

Lovely catching up on all the LOs..

DD 7.5 months (I've lost track of what it is in weeks)
weight - around 17 or 18 lbs but getting chubbier
length - no idea
bottom teeth just poking through (what I thought were teeth before were spots of thrush on her gumline ), can feel others under the surface.
sits well, goes from sit to crawl but not the other way. propels herself by elbowing with her left arm whilt propelling forward with her right foot (left leg in the air). tis very effective and very cute and has earned her the nickname "carpet slug"
says, dada, baba, mama, ca (cameron) and sss (at the cat), but mostly babbles incoherently
still BF, morning night and a couple of feeds in the day
food, after a slow start, has picked up and has breakfast lunch and dinner and sometimes a snack. has a penchant for white chocolate magnums
hair...still got all the hair she was born with and more growing in underneath. had her first mum haircut the other day and now looks like some kind of 1930s wee old man!

phew, long winded or what!

no flooding here (we live at the top of a hill), but couldn't open the door today for the wind and DS nearly got blown into the road....scary!

milkyJammy · 25/01/2008 21:09

But I'm off to bed now - nothing personal! Sleep well.

LardyMardyDaisy · 25/01/2008 21:12

ouch bumper

I was taking paracetomol/codeine and ibuprofen after my CS. All OK with BFing.

Get some steak for your eye...it really works. Failiing that, plaster on the arnica cream if you have any!

and post a photo on FB......you'll have no worries about being recognised

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 25/01/2008 21:14

Hi daisy, how are you feeling?

Thanks for reminding me btw, I still have post pg arnica pills somewhere.

LardyMardyDaisy · 25/01/2008 21:24

I'm feeling lovely and refreshed thank bumper

Loathe to use the term, but have been doing controlled crying with DD this week. Monday it took 40 mins to settle her, Tues 25 mins, Wed 15 mins, Thursday she was quiet before I got downstairs and tonight only the vaguest of whimpers

she's also been sleeping all night again (except for a 4am feed last night). I think she was just hungry . since being ill she had gone right off solids and was only picking, but has been eating loads this week. I've also stopped drinking gallons of diet coke, but not sure whether caffeine gets through in BM?

get some arnica cream tomorrow as well...i think it is better applied topically to bruising.

LardyMardyDaisy · 25/01/2008 21:25

gotta go...bum is numb on computer chair!

oh, and a friend phoned to ask if we wanted to go ice-skating tomorrow...we agreed, but maybe...on reflection....

I'll catch up tomorrow if I can!

thisisRialifebaby · 25/01/2008 21:26

hi daisy, my pushchair nearly blew over at school.

bumper were you executing the perfect triple axle? hope you don't feel too rough. have you put arnica on the bruising? take it easy this weekend.

so, baggins is -
-the same age as baby bumper (7 months ish)
-weight around 18lb
-length, long I think.
-clothes 6-12 months
-3 meals a day, occassional finger food
-4 bottles of 5-7 oz and BF all bloody night
-Hardly ever sleeps, unless cuddled
-shouts and squeaks but no words
-gets distracted by the cat who he likes to torment and the washing machine
-can't sit, tries to crawl but can't, rolls well and shuffles - if he sees something he wants he can get it. can also pick stuff up with his feet and rolls it down his legs to his hands. he lays on his side a lot propped on his elbow (like thigh toning exercises)
-he loves everyone (especially young thing blonde women in shops) he has the most gorgeous smile, even if he's just woken up

Hi Daisy btw - glad to see your feeling ok.

BrownSuga · 25/01/2008 21:41

I haven't been on the post-natal, but checked in to see what the babies are/should be up to.

Eli is 1 week short off 8mths
17lbs (i'm sure he should be bigger, he has massive hands and feet)
6-9 mths clothes, although until last week he was still wearing newborn and 0-3 baby vests
2 bottom teeth all the way through, 2 top teeth just through
sitting, crawling on belly, rolling, pulling himself up onto furniture, doing the mechanics of walking if we stand him up, doing pressups (think this is his precursor to crawling on knees), opening drawers and taking things out of them, pulling things off shelves, scaling beanbags strategically placed over the hard edges of the hearth to titu with things there, 2 breakages so far, no injuries
Just started handrolling at people, especially people who gesture a lot.
Loves his solids, broccoli, banana, spinach, courgette, asparagus, chocolate fingers(!), physalis, apple, raspberries and porridge, toast and chocolate (2 meals a day), almost lost interest in milk altogether
Still has masses of hair, although with it wearing away around the back and sides, it looks like the world's first baby combover
And for the past 3 weeks, he's been doing wees AND poos on the potty.

NattyThomasandEllen · 25/01/2008 21:42

lol ria that sounds very posh.. hope u have fun!

thisisRialifebaby · 25/01/2008 21:56

not posh natty, reluctant - if DH had had his way it would have been

I am jbm. wine, doritos & forzen pizza here.

hi brownsuga, the potty thing is impressive. how you doing?

Blast DH to the pit of hell, his first PTA meeting and he brings ME home some admin. I don't want to join, no-one talks to me.

OP posts:
BrownSuga · 25/01/2008 22:12

Just decided to put him on it. First day he cried. The next day, he wee'd and been doing it ever since. Put him on as soon as we get up, most nappy changes at home, then before bed. So i'd say he's on it about 4-5 times a day. Tonight he got grizzly, started parping, told DH to get him on it quick, and he poo'ed. Seems like he's now sending us signs, just have to watch out for. Have a little bath toy at hand for him to play with while he's on it. Sometimes I use the big toilet while he's on it too, that seems to work well.

Izzybel · 25/01/2008 22:18

Hi ladies! I was wondering if it wasn't too late to join you? I've just noticed this thread in active conversations. I had my DD in June 07.

LittleMissNorty · 25/01/2008 22:21

Hello Izzybel - never too late....we are all a pretty friendly bunch.

Have to spill few details though ....did you see our updates on this thread? Want to add yours? Is DD your first DC?

justbeme · 25/01/2008 22:22

I am signing off really now!! (just got off the phone!)

Hi Brownsuga! - That sounds like that concept alot of people talk about on MN - cant remember what its called now - "Elimination something or other"
They use it in 3rd world countries etc cos they havent got nappies.
I must admit I have a sound I make when L goes to no 2 - and now when I change her nappy I sign "Nappy" to her and VERY often, she does a poo after Ive taken her nappy off- it may be a coincidence, but at least it saves on skid marks on my washable nappies!!!

(yes i know Im nuts!!!!) and on that note.....night x
