Hi Izzybel, welcome to that madhouse. We've had a few later-joiners and the more the merrier. Hopefully we won't scare you off and you'll stay to be part of the family, we are quite a friendly chatty bunch, and might seem a bit close-knit, but we're alway happy to have more people to talk to.

You HAVE to give us stats on your LO of course. where are you based?

that is truly dedicated BS. I am too idle (even DS2 was VERY late potty training). he is a very clever DS though.

Night JBM

I'm off now as well....can hear DH in the other room snoring

(He got a £60 parking ticket today )

night all x

thisisRialifebaby · 25/01/2008 22:30

Bloody hell my typing is appalling (shouldn't have cheated in that exam...). I think you can tell where I meant "the" and "DS".

BTW JBM, sorry for ignoring your question (so eager was I to start my naffing PTA stuff). I am trying to BF first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and just do bottles at daytime with b/fast, lunch, tea. We were doing supper of a tiny bit of cereal so he was having a FF to mix it with, but the cereal made no difference so we dropped it and now he has FF some time in the evening. I aren't in a massive amount of discomfort so I am assuming its kind of a natural progression for both of us. He has had BF for far longer than his brothers (DS1 was about 6 weeks, DS2 4-5months) so he's done well. I WANT A SMALLER BRA!

Hi LittleMissNorty! Yes she's my first, born on the 2nd June.
So that would make her 8 months next Saturday.
Not sure about her weight getting her weighed on Tues in her 7 to 9 month check.
She's only just in 6-9 month clothes.
3 meals a day.
4 bottles of 5-7 oz
She sleeps for England. Like me everyone says!
Says Mama, Dada and baba. Generally just doesn't shut up!
She can sit up. She can't quite crawl yet but she can shuffle around and she can stand if you hold her hands, although she gets jelly legs!

Izzybel · 25/01/2008 22:37

Flippin' heck! That took me ages, there's been about 4 more post since I started to type! I'm so slow. Hi Ria! Thanks for your welcome!

NattyThomasandEllen · 25/01/2008 22:46

its not mel is it? cos that would be such a coinky dink!

milkyJammy · 26/01/2008 06:41

I had a first last night. The first time I have not had to get up in the night for over a year C went to sleep about 7.30, and we heard her crying at some point in the early hours, but by the time I got to thinking about getting out of bed she'd put herself back to sleep, and then slept until quarter to 6. Because we've been having a couple of feeds each night for some while now, I'd forgotten the feeling of swollen boobs and the relief of that 1st feed of the day

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 26/01/2008 09:35

jammyu I know exactly what you mean ds2 has started ahving one feed a night instead of 3 and my boobs have been all over the place bit hard and lumpy as well
I was only woken at 3 and then at 7 so hopefully sleeping is sorting itself out which I am pleased about as didn't want to do anything too strenuous about it

daisy good to hear from you

welcome to brownsuga and izzy

catch up later off to test drive new car before ordering and cheque from direct line finally came [grr]

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 26/01/2008 09:45

Nice one on your sleeps jammy and andie! DD woke up at 4am

and today I look like this

milkyJammy · 26/01/2008 09:48

How is it Bumper, I gather from the smiley that one eye is all swollen? Feeling any better though?

thisisRialifebaby · 26/01/2008 10:04

Pah, sleep. I had a nightmare about having to take ds2 to hospital for an operation and then was awake listening to the wind, so feel a bit "nervy" this morning. The night before I had a nightmare about DS3 getting sept away down a drain. Bloody hormones.

I am in a household of activity today, DH is busy doing chef things, being closely watched by his mini-mes. I am off to sort some jumble for the church jumble sale, then collect ds1 from tennis (Bless the poor boy, he is worried he is causing me & DH hassle by being bullied), then after some half-hearted tidying, I will be taking the boys to the jumble sale to buy it all back again. What an exciting life I lead.

See ya later. Have a good Saturday. Rx

quick hi to brownsuga, good to hear from you. I'm impressed with the potty stuff. I read up on elimination communication when i was still pg, but it sounded like too much effort. sounds like you're doing a bit of it though.

hello and welcome to izzybel

hope things are less painful this morning bumper and that you aren't giving DD too much of a fright!

off skating ourselves tomorrow.....will remebe to a) look where I'm going, and b) put hands out if I fall

off for a shower and to get on with the day. It's still horribly windy here so stuck indoors today...or maybe a visit to tropical world.

foxythesnowman · 26/01/2008 12:23

Cor Blimey Gov, you've been busy!

Off to catch up

foxythesnowman · 26/01/2008 12:34

I finally make it back and you've all buggered off!

justbeme · 26/01/2008 16:34

Hi Foxy!
Just logged on - DP has taken the dog and L out for a walk!
She had a 2.5hr nap today (must have been the medised!) and only finished her lunch at 4!!! Looks like we're in for a dodgy night!!

milkyJammy · 26/01/2008 16:45

Hi all. C is refusing to have a nap this afternoon. But she did nap for an hour this morning (normally only has 25-30 mins) even after sleeping right through last night.

We took her to the park today and after the usual go on the swings we took her to the slide. I think we enjoyed it more than she did - she didn't seem unhappy, but I don't think it had the same exhileration that the swings do.

justbeme · 26/01/2008 16:54

Hi Jammy - No, they love the swings though dont they ?

How about we all share a favourite dinner of our LO's - I need some inspiration?

This is very quick and easy and L loves it:

Microwave a sweet potato for few mins until soft. Scoop flesh into a bowl, add milk - I use cows milk, and a pinch of cinnamon and mash up. It may need 15 seconds or so back in microwave to warm up. mmmmmmm

thisisRialifebaby · 26/01/2008 17:17

Hi, mine's chicken, sweet potato and carrot blended up together - he doesn't like lumps.

Almost time for kick-off. Have sulky children ...

OP posts:
justbeme · 26/01/2008 17:35

I was just thinking of you ria - hope it goes ok - no headache then??!!
Oh and hope the kitchen isnt turning into a Ramseys nightmare!!

milkyJammy · 26/01/2008 17:57

Yes, hope it goes well Ria. Make sure you let us know the gory details.

C loves a good mix of veg (typically carrots, onions, potato, swede, parsnip, brocolli) cooked with water and a tiny bit of tom puree until soft, then some small lumps reserved and the rest roughly blended and then the lumps reintroduced. I make big batches of this, enough to last a couple of weeks and freeze in portions, each batch being a bit chunkier than the one before. She sometimes has it as is, or I might add a bit of chicken, or lentils, or cheese on the day before reheating.

The only other meal to be as popular as this has been potato, beetroot and chicken all blended up together. (And yes the beetroot stains did come out of clothes on a 40 degree wash)

milkyJammy · 26/01/2008 17:59

Oh and she liked the goats cheese with garlic we had the other week, which surprised us.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 26/01/2008 18:07

ria hope all goes well tonight

chicken squash and sweet potato
carrots lentil and cheese but the absolute winner is philadelphia sarnies he loves them
