Holly! Did you flounce? Heck, I missed it!

Why?

Please tell me it wasn't me?

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 20:34

I flounced very quietly and without any fuss! It wasn't you foxy!

I was spending far too long on here and needed a break!

For the first time in over a year I had no threads in my "threads I'm on" list!

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 20:34

BTW I've really missed you!

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 20:36

I'm really sorry if I've missed anything, I really can't catch up...it's too much!

Hope everyone and their little beasties are all well!

foxythesnowman · 05/02/2008 20:36

A quiet flounce? Holly, when you flounce I would expect it to be spectacular!

foxythesnowman · 05/02/2008 20:38

You've missed nothing from me - have been on here permanently for last 4 days as have cold. Very dull.

Pleased to see you and Daisy returning

Izzybel · 05/02/2008 20:39

Hi Holly I don't think I've 'met' you! Welcome back! I'm off now DD is 'shouting.'
Byeee!

LittleMissNorty · 05/02/2008 20:40

Evening all

Holly - why did you flounce? Did I miss something?

Jammy - hope you feel better soon - at times like this I sling DH into the spare room and then I can snore etc as much as I like without disturbing him and I end up getting more sleep IYKWIM.

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 20:40

I was going to do a full on toddler tantrum stylee flounce, but I couldn't be arsed!

Hope you are feeling ok. My dd has a terrible cold, luckily it hasn't spread to the rest of us yet .

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 20:41

lol at little beasties

welcome back holly, you was missed mightily, but beware....it's sucking me right back in already

how's the cold foxy? are you and dd2 feeling better?

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 20:42

No norty, I was just being silly! Also I needed a break from the all consuming world of MN!

Hi Izzy, welcome to the madness!!

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 20:44

Me too daisy, I've only been on here for 15 mins and I'm already getting sucked in!

Daisy, should that have been "wee beasties"?!

LittleMissNorty · 05/02/2008 20:45

I find I get so much more done when PC is out of action

It has to be said, this place is seriously adictive though....

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 20:47

Unfortunately I've not done much housework whilst I've been away. Mostly I've been ebaying! We need a new computer and I have been selling like crazy for the past couple of weeks!

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 20:51

not so "wee" really, the amount of food she is packing away at the minute!

hey norty, how are you doing? I hope you aren't in too much pain. Have the given you any dietary advice? I think it was Rosemarty Conley who gave up fat as she had gallstones, thereby discovering her famous hip and thigh diet.

LittleMissNorty · 05/02/2008 20:52

has it worked Holly? When we put our minds to it and e-bay lots, we can sell £3-400 of stuff at a time. It seriously pisses me off though all that packing and going to PO - although it would probably be a bit easier now I'm PT at work....

Daisy - did you hear back from work? Were they sympathetic?

LittleMissNorty · 05/02/2008 20:56

I'm fine atm thanks Daisy - I didn't see a dietician but I have been keeping off the fat and spicy stuff - I may get one of her books off e-bay.

I have to say I never want to go through that again - it was very like labour but a bit higher up. I really hope that isn't what a heart attack feels like (my dad died like that a couple of years ago and I'd hate to think it hurt)...

Meanwhile, all is calm - long may it stay that way

My DH learnt ALL about looking after babies for those 3 days

LittleMissNorty · 05/02/2008 20:57

sorry ...that was a very depressing thing to say about my dad....its obviously been playing on my mind and I just typed without thinking ....

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 21:00

Nothing back from work yet, but I think my boss is on holiday, and the HR guy is truly and remarkably crap. He had been asking a colleague whether she had heard from me about returning as didn't I have o give notice, woithout actually knowing that if you take your full leave entitlement then no notice is required. I'm amazed I even got SMP for the full 39 weeks!

We have lots of stuff to sell as well.....baby gym, changing table, big pram, nappies (but obv. can't ebay), little car seat, tomy carrier etc etc etc.....was going to try on here, but it's just too difficult and too bitchy now!

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 21:01

norty, you're only human for thinking like that, don't worry. I'm sure the whole experience must have been really scary for you

foxythesnowman · 05/02/2008 21:03

If anyone has a baby nest their LO is crawling out of, I'll take it off your hands (good of me, huh?!). I got mine back to find it had a puncture.

Ooh, Ladette to Lady is on.

foxythesnowman · 05/02/2008 21:07

Sorry, that was a bit unsympathetic - took me so long to get that post out

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 21:09

Sorry about your illness norty, are you having surgery?

I have mostly sold stuff that I've bought to sell. I sold one of my pushchairs the other day for a profit and some Mamas & Papas bedding. I've got loads more stuff to put on, it's just getting round to it. I may do the NCT sale next month if I can be bothered.

I found out today that I have a place on the bfing peer supporter course at the hospital in june, I'm really excited! I am really looking forward to helping new mums and their los!

foxythesnowman · 05/02/2008 21:12

That fab Holly! Well done - you'll be great!

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 21:13

good for you holly . I got some info through from the NCT on becoming a BF counsellor, but haven't taken it any further. not sure whether I will now though as I'm toying with stopping due to recurrent thrush.

i just got myself cleared up and DD has it again; the pain is already starting to build

foxy, can you mend it? you can get repair kits for paddling pools etc which should do the trick.
