CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 21:19

I hope I'll be good. I'm quite "no nonsense" which I think you need to be and I'm very passionate about bfing and would love to help get the rates up.

I was thinking about the NCT one, but it is not cheap and it's quite intensive. Once I've done this course I can then take it furthur. It is a 6 week course and then a year of volunteering 2 hours a week (mostly just on the phone). I would love to make it my actual job one day!

Daisy, hope your thrush clears up. That is really shit. Do you know why you keep getting it?

justbeme · 05/02/2008 21:19

Evening!
Welcome back Holly! Now we all want to know if we upset you?
Foxy - you can buy a new insert for the nests from Galt for £5 incl postage.

Now Ive forgotten what every one else said!
oh
Hope you get better soon Jammy
and Norty - you never complained of feeling ill, did it come on really suddenly or are you not a hypochondriac (sp?) like me?

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 21:24

JBM, it wasn't you that upset me, don't worry! Hope you are well.

Foxy, I've just binned one of those nests! It was taking up too much room and it was dusty and I couldn't be arsed to clean it to ebay it! Next time I bin something I shall offer it on here first!! I have the toys for the outside and the pad for the middle if anyone wants them!

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 21:24

Hi jbm hope the buttocks aren't too stiff and sore and you've got the mud out of your hair!

holly, I'm not sure but I think I may have a badly healed crack from the early days which is letting infection in; it's only ever in the ducts on my right side

ooooh, can I be your 1st case study?

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 21:28

JBM, have you been rolling around in mud?

Hmmm...daisy, I shall investigate! Hope you get through it. You have done so well to get this far...you are one tough chick!!

justbeme · 05/02/2008 21:34

I dont feel too bad now Daisy!
Thats cool then Holly - Have you made much on ebay?

Dont know if you remember that I made an Oral complaint re my delivery (noted on a NHS Oral complaint form) - well I mentioned in Nov to the Consultant that I hadnt had a reply back, and to this day I still havent heard - so i phoned today. The long and the short of it is, is that I now have to write to the Complaint dept!!!! Ive also asked to go back to consultant as the undercarriage pains seem to be worse recently.
God the NHS are so useless!!

justbeme · 05/02/2008 21:38

Yes Holly, I was doing mini press ups elbow deep in rabbit poop!

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 21:49

{hugs} jbm on the pain. I hope you get things sorted out soon. It must be awful having to go through it all again.

Right, am off to catch up on acouple of oither threads and then off to bed. Having had DH here since last Thursday, it'll be a shock to have to get the kids up and ready in the morning

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 21:51

So nothing kinky then?!

That is shit about the hospital. You'd think they'd take these things a bit more seriously! Twunts!

Sorry to be nosey, but what problems are you having? I have some ishoos down there and I haven't plucked up the courage to see dr yet. I'm quite convinced I have a prolapse of some kind , it's not good.

justbeme · 05/02/2008 21:52

Thanks Daisy - Im off too x

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 21:53

Night daisy! I am also in awe of those who do school runs. I give myself a mental medal if I am dressed by 10!

justbeme · 05/02/2008 21:55

No not a prolapse Holly
Just pains - either when I sit still and then move or if Ive done alot of walking (doesnt make sense!!)
Some one on here is having help for a prolapse - Cant remember who now - Im sure they'll come forward! You should get it checked though.
Sleep well
ps The lady from Tips called me - this month theyre having a competition for a beside cot which is good for co sleepers - have a go!!
Night x

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 21:57

Night jbm! Glad you joined TIPS, it is a lovely company, Sharon is really nice!

I think I shall book an appt with the dr this week...the thought of having my bits poked around with makes me feel physically sick!

LittleMissNorty · 05/02/2008 22:12

Sorry - disappeared to watch mistresses

Should go to the doctors Holly and get it sorted - have you got a nice GP or a woman you can go and see?

JBM - you made me PMSL with your buggyfit description. When we take the dog to the park, I march round with the buggy like a woman possessed trying to do a little bit of exercise.

No not a hypochondriac - pain came on REALLY suddenly - about 9.30pm and was in A&E an hour later.....with all the dregs of the town....god A&E departments are SO grim...

Right off to find a copy of that Rosemary Connelly book

Night all x

FairyFay · 05/02/2008 22:19

Hello, I just came on for a few mins to catch up but it is me who has a prolapse so I thought I'd own up! I've been referred to a gynaecologist who's said that it can be mostly sorted out by some specialist pelvic floors exercises so I'm seeing a physio for that. surgery is an option later on, but not necessarily essential. I put off going to the doc about it as well, but I'm glad it's now being sorted. Right, must be off to bed, n'night all

LittleMissNorty · 05/02/2008 22:21

Oh got a copy for 99p

Hello Fairy...and night

FairyFay · 05/02/2008 22:26

btw, hello Holly, welcome back. I got sucked back in by 'active conversations'

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 22:33

Hey fairy, thanks for owning up! I really must go to the dr, I would have been very lucky to get away with delivery a baby the size of my ds without some sort of injury!

What does the physio involve?

How did you know something was up? Did it just feel wrong?

You've prob gone to bed now!

FairyFay · 05/02/2008 22:39

I am still here

I was told that prolapse generally happens because you are genetically pre-disposed to suffer from it, but it is made worse by big babies and if you didn't push for long or if you were constipated in pregnancy or afterwards.

Not to be too graphic about how I realised - I was having trouble opening my bowels and could feel a protrusion in my fanjo. Apparently it doesn't necessarily have to feel like that though because it depends on where the prolapse is.

The physio is fine - mostly just her talking me through what to do and how to make sure I'm doing it correctly. I did have to have an internal examination which obviously wan't great but it was brief and not painful. Hope that helps.

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 22:44

Thanks very much fairy! You have been most helpful! What you are describing is EXACTLY what I am feeling...the feeling poo through fanjo wall thing! So glad someone else has the same ishoo (not that I'm glad you have problems, but you know what I mean)!

William was 10lb 8oz and I pushed for about 10 mins, so that would probably cause the damage!

Did the dr say what kind of prolapse it was?

Sorry to ask you this on here, you can email me if you want! Not that you have to email me if you don't want to!!

Sorry!

FairyFay · 05/02/2008 22:48

It's ok, I don't mind. He said I have mild prolapse of the front vaginal wall and the uterus and moderate of the back vaginal wall. Strengthening pelvic floor muscles doesn't cure it as such but it supports everything better so it becomes less of an ishoo.

They can do surgery but won't do it until you are sure that you want no more DCs as it is reversed by the weight you carry in pregnancy and repeat surgery has a far lower success rate.

I really must go to bed now but pls email/ask more on here if you want to know anything else and I will reply tomorrow - definitely make an appt to see the gp, it seems to be actually quite common so they won't think you're a freak (which was my worry).

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 22:52

Thanks fairy, I'll email you tomorrow. You really have been really helpful, I really appreciate it!

Goodnight, sleep tight!

Shit, my dd has just come downstairs with a jar of Vicks with a spoon in. She has eaten half a jar of it! Bollocks!

Oh well, I'm sure it's not harmful!

Night!

FairyFay · 06/02/2008 08:02

OMG Holly, is she ok? How much did she eat?

Morning everyone, hope you all had good nights?

CalicoHollyFlint · 06/02/2008 08:14

Morning!!

She is fine! I've had a bit of a shit night. I couldn't sleep well because I kept waking up to check on her! All is well and obviously eating Vicks is not so bad!

Thanks for your help last night fairy, you are a star xx

LittleMissNorty · 06/02/2008 08:20
