tbh sputnik it took my mind off the scraping she was nice as she has 2 herself and just said don't worry

foxythesnowman · 05/02/2008 11:37

Thats so stressful Andie (the baby crying through the dentist. And the MIL thing too, actually!)

LO still sleeping. She is full of a cold today. She fed in the night, but is all bunged up, and not interested in solids. Am wondering whether I should just stick to milk today? Perhaps just some fruit puree (sweet, so more tempting?). Any thoughts?

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 05/02/2008 11:39

fruit puree is always my default meal if lo is not that interested tbh foxy organix do one with oats in now which is a bit more filling so I use that

foxythesnowman · 05/02/2008 11:52

Thanks Andie Have some organix pots so will use them.

Sputnik · 05/02/2008 12:26

Second that, Baby Sputnik seems to gobble fruity porridge no matter what

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 13:34

afternoon all.

nothing much happening in the Boo household today, but I've done some clearing out of clothes that no longer fit my DS and sorted about four loads of washing so I reckon I've earned some "me" time. babyboo is happy scuttling around the very dusty wooden floor getting dirty. she has discovered that there is a world outside the patio windows and is happy to sit and watch the plants flop around in the wind.

hey bumper . I loved being an auntie when i was that age (I was 16 when DN1 was born) and loved babysitting, looking after them etc. Could you leave her babysitting so you and DH can get out for a few hours? Maybe she wants to, but is waiting for you to ask?

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 13:38

foxy, babyboo wet off solids completely when she was ill over Christmas. I gave up in the end and just BF her when she wanted it, but kept trying her with little bits of what we were having. She soon got back on track with the solids when she was back to her usual self. Now she packs it in like it's going out of fashion.

Ouch at the dentist andiem. i haven't been for over a year . Miust get an appointment sorted out for me and the lad.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 05/02/2008 13:43

daisy I didn't go to the dentist for 18 years as I was too scared but since I had dcs I feel I need to set an example so go every 6 months now and hygienist every 4 months still hate it though

foxythesnowman · 05/02/2008 14:35

Hello, back again.

Now is a good time to go to the dentist, as we only get it free for a year don't we? Gives us a chance to get any work done. Must make and appointment myself actually...

Hello Daisy

justbeme · 05/02/2008 16:04

Well Im Knackered!
"Mums of Steel?"
"Bums that feel like tortured steel "more like!

I went to the free Buggfit class this morning! Did you guess?
It was ok - About 30-40mins of just pushing prams round the lakes (follow my leader and then the last buggy overtakes everyone else etc) and 20 mins of exercise. Some on floor (very muddy!) and some with an elastic belt thing for resistance.
Our Family centre organised it - But we awll think maybe a yoga/pilates class would be better - It wasnt very dignified sticking your arse in the air for every Tom Dick or whoever to see!!!
I think I'll sleep well tonight tho!!

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 16:21

lol jbm

I fancied buggyfit, but a friend of mine who is a SAHD says it cracks him up when he sees them all charging around the park. He just wants to tell them all to chill and go have some cake . It kind of put me off!

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 05/02/2008 18:00

I am insulted you lot I do buggyfit every week my dh thinks it is hilarious and wonders if there are pervs who stake us out looking at our elastic bands

Izzybel · 05/02/2008 19:43

LOL Andie!
Evening all!
Bumper your sister sounds just like me! apart from the going out for a fag part as I don't smoke your mum sounds good though, my mum just comes in and says "are you making me a brew or what?"
JBM do you think you will go again? I don't think I'd fancy lying down in the mud and sticking my bottom in the air.
Wow you lot have been quiet today!
Not much to report today, just been struggling to get jobs done. I feel as if I'm banging my head against the wall. Either I have DP coming home from work with "FGS what have you done all day" blah blah blah or I try to get everything done and then feel guilty because I haven't spent time with DD and she's been on her own.

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 19:59

Izzybel, try leaving your DH with DD for the day with a list of chores he needs to get done and see how he gets on

I feel guilty about the state the house is in, but after leaving DD with DH a couple of times, he is fully appreciative of just how much time it takes to do things, especially when having to fit in feeds, meals, snacks, dropping DS off and picking him up from school.

It is quiet here...where is everyone? Am I missing something good on the telly?

milkyJammy · 05/02/2008 20:00

I'm glad I've finished at work for the week (well, finished going to the office anyway, still got some work to do at home). My breathing is getting worse because of this cold I was up for over 2 hours last night unable to sleep because I couldn't lie down. I'm so fed up.

C is getting better at nursery thankfully. They said she was fairly happy today, and is now taking milk from a bottle OK.

milkyJammy · 05/02/2008 20:03

Sorry to whinge. DH is about to make me some pancakes and them I'm off to bed.

Izzybel · 05/02/2008 20:10

Lol, I remember leaving him with her once, when she was 8 weeks old and when I rang him he said "she just won't go to sleep, why?"
If I come up with any excuses he says "well she's good at the weekend" er... there's two of us!
Ooh I must add that my little monkey has started crawling today!!!! well, sorta it's a kind of half crawl, half caterpillar where she shoves her bum up in the air and pushes herself forward on her knees.

Sputnik · 05/02/2008 20:14

You poor thing Jammy. I know how you feel, I had a blocked nose for weeks when I was pg, and it really messed up my already messed up sleep.

Was contemplating pancakes but decided to give it a miss as DD had a carnival party at preschool and probably ate god knows what, so we'll do them tomorrow as she is at home.

What's everyones fave pancake topping then? Mine's a honey and lemon

Izzybel · 05/02/2008 20:14

Hi Jammy, aww I bet you're glad! It must have been rotten going back to work ill! I forgot about pancake day today, gutted! I'll have to buy some Aunt Bessies ones tomorrow

Sputnik · 05/02/2008 20:15

That sounds cute Izzy

Izzybel · 05/02/2008 20:15

I love them with cif lemon and lots of sugar!

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 20:17

yay for baby izzybel . they are so cute when they do that; babyboo levers herself along using one forearm and the opposite toes, with the other hand deployed for scooping up anything in her path and the other leg in the air. It's a sight to behold.

Today I have removed from her gob at various times: four tiny pieces of lego, three gold stars that had fallen off some of DSs artwork, the bell from the cat's collar and a rubber bouncy ball (major league gagging with that one!). Today I have failed to remove from her gob: several bits of fluff, paper and other assorted detritus that she somehow manages to find even though my long redundant hoover has seen daily use over the last few weeks! If only babies tums were see through like the dyson......

LardyMardyDaisy · 05/02/2008 20:20

sorry Jammy . I hope you're feeling better soon.

didn't even attempt pancakes as I've only got gluten free flour in the house and they never quite work.

Being scottish, we usually do small 1cm(ish) thick pancakes rather than crepe type ones. The only topping for those is about the same thickness again in butter

Izzybel · 05/02/2008 20:23

Your DD sounds like mine Daisy. I'm forever taking things off her. She sees something, she wants it! I get really frustrated when I'm changing her nappy as she always tries to grab it from under herself, particularly annoying when it's a dirty one!

CalicoHollyFlint · 05/02/2008 20:27

Evening!

I am officially unflouncing!

Thanks for the email daisy, I shall reply in a bit xxx
