Got up late - sorry!

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 09/12/2007 10:22

Wel, I'm taking a gamble and posting on this one withour looking at the link to Jas's one!

csws, what a shame the scossors were all sold out in costco, else that wouldvew been dd's xmas pressei!!

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 09/12/2007 12:13

I feel mean because Jas put in the work on the other one I vote we use the other one when this is full? There is no way this will last until Christmas anyway

PhoeNixYouAMerryChristmas · 09/12/2007 14:46

We'll ave to get chatting and fill this one up quickly then

I'm one hand typing, ds has been asleep on my other for over half hour now I got him out of the car fast asleep thinking he's had 20mins sleep so he'll wake up soon but no he's showing no signs of waking up yet and my arms dead.

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 09/12/2007 15:24

Ds2 hasnt had a nap yet Usually falls asleep in the buggy, but he was escited to drop my Mum at the bus station, then we ate, then we looked at the xmas lights in the bargain shop, so he just hasnt been bored enough to fal lasleep

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 09/12/2007 15:27

Disgraceful. Mine was suitably bored and slept at lunchtime.

PhoeNixYouAMerryChristmas · 09/12/2007 15:28

He's still asleep, he woke up twice, looked at me and went back to sleep I'm starting to need the toilet now.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 09/12/2007 16:29

No sleep here either.

Conversation this afternoon, whilst wrapping Christmas presents....

me: Need to go and check lunch in the oven. Please keep an eye on dd and make sure that she doesn't take that (felt tipped) pen anywhere other than on her paper.
h: ok, will do
me, upon re-entering room approx 3 mins later: Where's dd?
h: I don't know. Thought she was with you.

[shortly afterwards discover dd hiding behind curtain, covered in pen all over her legs, with pen on 2 patches of wallpaper, the front door, and some painted wall].

Few mins later, wrapping again.
Me: You've put that paper upside down on that present (Lex's). Can you please take a bit more care over what you're doing.
h: Yes, ok.
me, after he's wrapped next present (Bram's): You've put that one upside down as well. I might as well talk to myself mightn't I.

You'd think he'd have learned after doing the cards upside down yesterday.

This is my life, how do I get off?

Oh, and happy anniversary to me and dh .

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 09/12/2007 16:31

How was the paper upsdie down?

Tis not too early for wine ya know

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 09/12/2007 16:33

Happy Anniversary If its any consolation, the boys wouldnt know if paper was upside down or not

ChasingSquirrelsUpTheXmasTree · 09/12/2007 16:35

hi all,
how do you do paper upside down? nards I can understand.
ds1 is writing his own cards for school, I have done labels for the envelopes so he has everyones names and he is just getting on with it. He went to a birthday party today and I said he needed to do the card and he just sat down and did it, only asked me if he had spelt the little girl's name correctly!
Cold wet horrible dark day here today.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 09/12/2007 16:51

Paper has trees on, and they are upside down on front of presents. Gifts are only very small mrm .

OP posts:
FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 09/12/2007 17:03

Aaaaaaah yes. I probably woudl have unwrapped and redone

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 09/12/2007 17:50

Nah, I'd have drawn faces on each tree to make them look the right way up!

ChasingSquirrelsUpTheXmasTree · 09/12/2007 19:15

I would turn the present the otehr way up

ChasingSquirrelsUpTheXmasTree · 09/12/2007 19:17

but then if dh actually wrapped some presents I'd be comotose on the floor in shock anyway!

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 09/12/2007 19:21

It depends on what the present is really - some just can't be turned the other way up.

I am a bit at the drawing on faces... surely that takes longer than rewrapping properly???

CantSleighWontSleigh · 09/12/2007 19:37

I'm so glad you've said this. Am sure that dh thinks it's just me being difficult for the sake of it, but at least now he can see that it would bother other people too.
Unfortunately he chose probably the only 2 presents that can't be turned the other way up to do this to!

OP posts:
mustrunmorewantsanewname · 09/12/2007 19:47

Oooo, thats a clue

You dont have to draw faces on every tree, just 3 or 4 central ones, so that all atention is drawn there Or put a huge label covering the whole of the front!

PhoeNixYouAMerryChristmas · 09/12/2007 19:49

I'd just leave the pressies how they were. I've never really thought about paper been upside down I just wrap things or if they're my pressies i just rip the paper off

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 09/12/2007 19:53

Having said that, it would've really bothered me until this year, but for some reason, I'm just not so fussed now Partly because I have other things I'd rather do & xmas isnt such an 'event' now (which is odd, given that ds1 is now firmly in the appreciation stage). But then again, it might be because I just do everything, so therefore its systematic, its my system, and dh doesnt do anything to get wrong! TBH though, I did really enjoy xmas the frist few years we were together and just ignored it as a special day, other than us both having a day off work, and a bit of tinsel on the 'xmas guitar'(didnt have a tree)

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 09/12/2007 19:55

Just put ds2 to bed;there's definitely something living in our loft Prob a bird, as it taps on the ceiling/loft floor, but I suppose it could be a squirrel or an escaped convict. The eaves are really awkward to get to in this house, so it'll be a major expedition to hunt the beastie down. Have got ds1's main pressie out of the loft to wrap though, without seeing any life forms up there

Jas · 09/12/2007 21:05

Can we talk lotsthen please and still use my shiny ew thread too?

lol @ upside down wrapping paper. I'd be so stunned if dp wrapped presents, I probably wouldn't notice.

DS is still up again.
DP didn' put m to bef til 10 last night, so he fell asleep in the buggy this afternoon.
