I am trendaverter. Too scared to own scales. Am size 20, want to be a 16 by christmas and a 14 long term.
Bring it on.

Mummies who had babies in 1999 and 2001 also want flat tummies .

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 04/09/2007 08:02

Can I come and join you, I'm a month longer in the tooth new baby wise and really should sort it out by Christmas which is what I promised myself all along. I think 16 weeks in the c-section is no longer an excuse for the state of my tummy.

I'm currently attempting 50 sit-ups, 20 crunches, 20 oblique crunches each side, 20 back raises and plank and reverse plank every day. Not managed too many aerobic sessions yet as dd is still feeding every hour and a half.

I also stick dd in the pram every day and walk 3 miles up a big hill and back again.

I'm a size 12/14, aiming to get back to size 10 by Christmas.

Wow AFKASOH that's pretty impressive, you are welcome to join us - you can motivate us!

DG do you go to a yoga class or do your own practice? I used to go to a fab ashtanga class but it's at 5 and DH doesn't get back from work till 6.30. I really miss it, but not motivated enough to do it myself.

trace2 · 04/09/2007 08:31

am trace2 am a size 16 want to be a 12/ 14 come christmas, but finding it very difficult at moment

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 04/09/2007 08:37

gawd bumper don't be impressed. Please note that I am attempting that. More often than not I fall asleep halfway through the sit-ups. Pre-dd I cycled 8 miles to work every day, ran 3 times a week and did 2 aerobics classes. Post-dd I heave myself out of bed and walk to the kitchen.

Best motivation chez ShowOfHands is my favourite pre-pregnancy outfit hanging in my bedroom window so I see it every morning when I wake up. I want to wear it on Christmas Day so the photos of dd's first Christmas are of me looking happy and healthy again. I got into shape before I fell pg and my motivation then was a booked holiday and purchased bikini. I said I would have my photo taken in that bikini and show it to all my colleagues, weight loss or no weight loss. Definitely worked.

bumperlicious · 04/09/2007 08:41

I know what you mean. Pre pg I cycled to work (only 2 miles each way though) went jogging, did ashtanga yoga twice a week and went swimming, but as soon as I got pg and got morning sickness it all went out the window! Determined to get back in shape through healthy eating and exercise. Bfing makes me reall hungry though!

bumper I have installed a second breakfast in my house to replenish after night feeds. This morning I had cereal and yoghurt for first breakfast and beans on toast for second breakfast- about an hour later! Pregnancy didn't make me hungry- sick, yes, hungry, no- breastfeeding makes me ravenous and I have to be so careful to snack on healthy stuff. I could eat all day.

Water's the other good thing. I try to drink 5 or 6 litres a day. Again, I need it while breastfeeding but it makes a huge difference to bloating.

bumperlicious · 04/09/2007 09:34

i'm just having my second breakfast now! i've always been a fan of it, especially as cereal is one of my favourite snacks.

Daisyboo....12st 5lbs .

Optimium weight for BMI of 23 is 8st 11lbs

I'm not thinking in those terms though otherwise I will get very very despondent.

1st interim target - 11st 5lbs

SOH, I'm still using that excuse 5 YEARS after my first c-section!
BTW, I followed your birth thread and your BF troubles. I hope you have recovered from the birth and that that BF is going OK now . I hope you're not overdoing it too much on the tummy exercises, your muscles will still be recovering from the surgery!

OK.....Breakfat today was hi-fibre cereal with a banana.
Snack at 10 was an apple. Off to a flier already

I walked 5 miles yesterday. Today I will walk to the baby clinic (only 15 min walk - for always taking the car), then home via school to pick up DS. Will do tummy exercises once DCs are in bed!

sputnik · 04/09/2007 10:24

Well done Bumper for starting this!

Ok, here goes. I am Sputnik, currently 69 kg, already lost 3 kg but am now a bit stuck. If I stand sideways to the mirror and relax my tummy muscles I still look 5 or 6 months pg . Would like to get back to pre-pg 61 kg or eeven pre-children 57. I refuse to shell out on a size 14 winter wardrobe so it's a race against time here!

So far have lost weight with exercise mostly, but have a cold atm and don't feeel like it. Was doing stair climbing mixed with light weights, crunches, stretches, press-ups etc. about an hour a day most days.

Just had seecond breakfast here too BUT apparently snacking regularly is good for keeeping up your metabolic rate therefore burning fat long term. Women should eat every 3 hours, or so I read.

Excuse my overactive e key everyone, can't be bothered to keep going back and correcting

sputnik · 04/09/2007 10:43

just converted those weights to bee in line with you lot: 152lb, which would be nearly 11 stone (14lb in a stone, right?) down to about 9 1/2

Good thread here the other day describing supposedly killer abs exercise, am going to give it a try.

riabutterflew · 04/09/2007 12:24

will be back on here later too. Go knows I need to!

bumperlicious · 04/09/2007 17:35

Ok, today I walked to the park, which is about a 3 mile round trip. Tomorrow I am going to see if I can jog at least some of it. I've also signed up for buggyfit class on Friday.

And so far the only bad thing I have eaten is 2 squares of dark chocolate and I am having spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.

foxybrown · 04/09/2007 19:23

I'm here, have a stone to lose.

I've been doing weightwatchers online for 3 weeks. Not very well mind you...

Am going to my first meeting tomorrow morning.

I am in a very bad mood and want to eat a large cake.

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 04/09/2007 19:31

I am FAT

I want to be able to wear my size 10 clothes again

I am currently fitting into size 14's
I weigh far too much!! and need to shed 3 stone to be the weight I was pre pg!!

I used to do 1 hr cardio in gym and ride my horse 5x a week - don't think I'll have the time for that these days!
I now have a treadmill and am aiming for 20 mins every morning on it and would like to ride my horse 3x a week......

All I need now is more sleep to have the energy to do it!!

I am Ria and I am very very fat. I would like to be less fat.
I have also done really well on my 1st day of slimming world - til now.

DH is dieting with me - I weighed in this morning and it's no worse than before (but believe me that is BAD), DH got weighed too and he was shocked, when he wrote it down the pen wouldn't work and he said the pen was so disgusted it wouldn't write(tee hee). If he's doing it too might have to stick to it this time!

We walked - to nursery and back the long way, back to nursery and home again, and to the library and back. DH then had a nap. I have been ironing all chuffing day (when not BF of course).

This is going to be hard...

riabutterflew · 04/09/2007 22:12

BTW I have - jelly belly, lard arse, thunder thighs and too many chins.

daisyandbabybootoo · 04/09/2007 22:48

i did the walk to clinis today. it took me 20 mins at a brisk once, so it's obviously further away than i thought! Afterwards had a bit of a cardio-vascular workout as I had to run to school to pick up DS.I also tried to keep my tummy muscles sucked in as I was doing it.

Tried on pre pg trousers today, and still can;t even get into my size 16s cos of all the flab around my waist...where did that come from!

Food wise, did ok till teatime, roast chicken for lunch, but had pasta bake with lots of cheese on top for tea followed by two magnums.

tomorrow is another day!

daisyandbabybootoo · 04/09/2007 22:48

oops, clinic and a brisk walk i meant!

bumperlicious · 05/09/2007 12:26

2 mile jog and a walk around the park...

now I want to pass out !
