Ria, if you aren't ready then give yourself a break and let it go! Honestly, you've just had a baby don't forget!

You'll be much happier not putting the pressure on yourself I'm sure!

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 14:59

thanks foxy.

that's the plan for today - have just eaten all the treatsize maltesers

bumperlicious · 08/09/2007 15:49

Is it wrong that I have just eaten half a bar of green and blacks milk chocolate, I mean it's organic so it got to be good for me right?

Yes Bumper! It is wrong, doncha know its plain chocolate you are meant to eat - now half a bar of that would have been healthier!

God, I LOVE that G&B milk chocolate!

sputnik · 08/09/2007 18:14

I just did that Bumper. It was that or the gin

foxybrown · 08/09/2007 18:26

I've asked DH if he'll look after DD in the morning while I go for a swim. He's said yes, not sure if he realises I mean at 8am! (You have to go early to get the adult only session and be able to actually swim rather than bob about among the kids' floats etc) Whether or not I go depends on how much sleep we get with DD in her cot for the first time.

Pasta with salmon flakes for tea- should I add a splash of cream or olive oil to add a little moisture/lubrication? (As in i'm going to add one or t'other but can't decide which)

foxybrown · 08/09/2007 18:57

mmm cream I think. sounds yum!

good luck with getting to your swim tomorrow morning. You'll feel good all day, and have the rest of the day to relax!

sputnik · 08/09/2007 21:34

That's funny DH made pasta with smoked salmon and cream for lunch. Deffo cream (but you've probably made it by now)

Jamantha · 09/09/2007 09:11

Yes, we had it with cream. The good news is that we resisted eating a bag of pasta for 4 between 2 of us, and put some in the fridge for today. That's got to be good?

And had my swim this morning - 22 lengths. Blinkin' hard work it was too, been about 16 weeks since I last went. But still, a start, and whith that and a brisk 10 minute walk to & from the pool I can feel smug all day now.

daisyandbabybootoo · 09/09/2007 15:51

I've just checked out the local Slimming World classes. The only ones that are on during the daytime are in the city centre, which means I have a cat in hell's chance of actually getting to a class (city centre one way system/lack of parking being the major discouraging factors). Do I bite the bullet and trawl into town with DD on the bus once a week and join in with the lunchtime ruck, try and go it alone, or join Weight Watchers where there is a group about 500 yards from my front door?

I've never done WW before and not sure I like the idea of being limited to a set number of points each day.

Oh, and have just shared a half pound bag of American Hard Gums with DS....and by shared i mean number of sweets as a proportion of weight, so he only got three!

Jamantha · 09/09/2007 16:00

try it alone - exvept you won't be because we';re here. and you'll save giving your precious money to a ... I'd better not go on, I guess a lot of foljs like these groups and I don't want to alienate everyone!

Jamantha · 09/09/2007 16:00

sorry about bad typing

daisyandbabybootoo · 09/09/2007 16:05

aw shucks, cheers jamantha....

how are your spots?

Jamantha · 09/09/2007 16:27

Itchy. And all merged into one red mass over the whole lower leg

foxybrown · 09/09/2007 18:54

daisy - check it out on-line. they do a core plan which is not points based.

and if you do 'points' you get loads because of bf. thats lots of gin and slimline

foxybrown · 09/09/2007 18:54

jamantha - fantastic about your swim - well done!

daisyandbabybootoo · 09/09/2007 21:02

I'll have a look foxy, ta. The meeting is just up the road so I think I'll mosey on up.

am now on second bag of american hard gums

my dm has just poked my bum and askeded ih i'm getting fatter

sputnik · 10/09/2007 15:47

I have fallen seriously off the wagon this weekend, ate too much and sat on my arse all day. Oh well, tomorrow is another day

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/09/2007 19:19

dg, it's sickening how easily men lose weight. dh just stops drinking beer and cutting out his mid-morning snack and the weight falls off

I don't think we should be too hard on ourselves. we are programmed to retain fat after all, and more so after having a baby.

Jamantha · 10/09/2007 20:48

Well that felt good! After being bloomin' hungry for AGES (DH late home as it was shopping night and then it was bath night and DD took ages to feed etc) finally got some tea: toast, scrambled eggs, baked beans, bacon and tomatos. Very satisfying! And because the toast was wholemeal, the bacon and tomatos were grilled, the beans were low sugar and the eggs were done with very little fat I don't think I need feel too bad?

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/09/2007 21:19

jamantha, on SW all that would be free food except the bread which would be a healthy extra, so well done you, but given you're poor;y I think you ahould be allowed a reprieve from healthy eating. I hope the tablets are working and you managed to get your bath!

I've had two almond magnums
