Ok, here is the official June weight loss thread, so we can stop boring everyone else on the thread. Post your motivations, weight loss, healthy eating and exercise tips here!

I am bumperlicious, I weigh 10 stone 8lbs and I want to weigh 9st by Christmas.

Right, I have a sleeping baby on my lap. I am going to get up and put him very gently and carefully in the pram. If he doesn't wake up I am going to do some exercise. there, am comitted now, wish me luck.

Uki · 06/09/2007 12:56

I suppose we could try the double bra, but i might need a triple and I don't own that many bras

Spunik - i got one word for you -pramasize- you can rock the baby and the booty

sputnik · 06/09/2007 13:18

That's just what I ended up doing as he woke up after I did 12 stair climbs so I just pushed the pram briskly for 1/2 an hour. Now have to go and pick up DD.

I have also hedged my bets a little on the winter wardrobe front by investing in some spanx control tights
You've got me wondering now what cup size my belly must be, XX probably

riabutterflew · 06/09/2007 15:02

foxy 11-7 is my ultimate (and unlikely) goal weight!

lol at nork-danger. i can't make sudden movements...

am doing ok so far today, just need time to finish making the fruit salad...

Jamantha · 06/09/2007 20:24

I wasn't going to join this thread, as I've never been a fan of weight loss groups, comparing diets etc, but hey, lets give moral support a chance.

Last year, pre-pregnancy I lost 6 stone. Then put most of it back on during pregnancy . I lost some fairly in the first few weeks, and have been static for about 2 months now. However, until this week I've eaten far too much and a lot of the wrong things, so I guess staying static isn't so bad? Anyway, time to try to make a bit of an effort - if I can stay static eating all the wrong stuff, I should be able to lose some with a bit of being "good"?

So today I've really made an effort to eat healthier - lots of fruit and veg, and (more) modest portions of the fatty parts of the meal. And what with going out twice I managed to clock up 6 miles of walking. Legs killing me now, and a huge blister 'cause I wore the wrong shoes, but I feel good all the same.

I want to lose about 4 stone and please be gentle with me, because like I said I normally back away from this kind of thing.

trendaverter · 06/09/2007 20:37

We'll be gentle Jamantha!

I went to sainsburys today, I was very good, I made sure that I ate before I went (so no hungry purchases!) and everytime I thought of going down the chocolate aisle I walked back to the fruit section and bought fruit.

Needless to say it was a 2 hour shop thanks to me going backwards and forwards and I now have pinapple, apple, mango, grapes, bananas, nectarines.... but no chocolate!

Although I did buy a pastry case as I plan to make pecan pie at the weekend. And I bought pork pies...but we are going on a picnic! It's a prerequisite.

I am not as virtuous as I thought, clearly

Jamantha · 06/09/2007 20:41

Just do a lot of walking/rounders/frisbee playing/whatever before the picnic TA and you'll earn a pork pie.

I'm convinced that a lot of the weight loss last year was down to exercise. I trained up for and walked a marathon, and when training I had NO GUILT eating a pub Sunday lunch with pudding after doing a long walk in the morning (typically 12 or 15 miles).

riabutterflew · 06/09/2007 21:03

wow.
i feel mug for walking to school - must try harder!

I can feel the danger zone lurking. the maltesers treatsize are calling to me. why did i buy custard donuts for ds1?

nearly bedtime...

riabutterflew · 07/09/2007 13:07

yay, managed 24 hours withou eating anything i shouldn't - must have lost at least 1/2 stone by now?

sputnik · 07/09/2007 13:36

Congratulations Ria
Congratulations to Foxy too for staying in your points
Well done TA with the fruit, and think of all the extra distance you covered to the fruit aisle and back
Daisy, go to the back of the class with your empty magnum wrappers

Jamantha I am totally with you on the exercise thing, I much prefer losing weight by exercise and it works much better for me, not to mention the fact that I'm not prepared to give up full fat greek yogurt, or butter on my toast, as life would then not be worth living. I am just trying to be careful about what I eat atm, as opposed to dieting.

Anyway, virtuous morning to report here [smug], virtuous breakfast of egg on toast with a peach, nearly 2 hours of exercise - though a lot of it was pushing the pram around - followed by miso soup of virtue for lunch. I may have some chocolate to celebrate

I am making chicken and leek pie for dinner. It has cream in it but I'll go easy!

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/09/2007 16:11

lol ta at your shoppiing trip. I do that tooing and froing as a matter of course, but usually cos i forget things and end up going back for things

Today I've had a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes and a cheese and tomato roll. Am having spag bol for tea, but in true slimming world stylee I'm going to have loads of pasta and just a wee drop of sauce.

haven't exercised apart from to and from school (10mins walkx4). No sweets or magnums...but the day is still young.

Jamantha · 07/09/2007 17:40

Well I had my usual enormous breakfast of a double size portion of cereal, and 2 slices of toast, but did pass on sugar on the cereal and jam on the toast. I just always wake up so flippin' hungry!

Had a fairly healthy lunch though, a ham sandwich (no mayo) and lots of fruit. And by being out all pm I avoided boredom snacking Now if I can manage a reasonable tea I'll be happy.

foxybrown · 07/09/2007 19:21

That boredom snacking gets me all the time! I just want to sit down and scoff a packet of custard creams.

Am having a fat-birds tea tonight, but within points so am blardy happy!

Jamantha · 07/09/2007 20:39

what's for tea then foxy?
burger with home prepared potato wedges (using a little olive oil), salad and mushrooms here. With strawberries for pudding. No idea how it fits with WW/SW and nor do I care, but it'll do for me.

foxybrown · 07/09/2007 20:48

oven chips, fried egg sausage and baked beans

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/09/2007 21:21

foxy...if you do SW you can do syn free chips (basically wedges done in fry light) and eat the to your hearts content on a green day.

I'm going to a class next week. Trying to do it on my own ian't motivation enough. I need the ritual humiliation of the weekly weigh-in and seeing it written down in black and white by someone else!

foxybrown · 07/09/2007 21:26

what about chocolate? how does that work?

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/09/2007 21:42

as well as your free foods and healthy extras...you are allowed 15 syns a day, and its recommended to use your full syn allowance if BF.

A 125ml glass of red wine is 4.5 syns, so technically you could have half a bottle a day and still be within your allowance! it's why i like it so much

riabutterflew · 07/09/2007 22:54

bollocks.

is that enough info about my evening...?

foxybrown · 08/09/2007 09:35

uh-oh Ria! Whats up?

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 13:34

another bad diet day, which of course will run over into the weekend. i just can't manage constant bf and obsessive food prep...

arse.

i should be more motivated. you will haveto ban me from this thread!!!

Jamantha · 08/09/2007 13:50

it's tricky, ria. I'd had real problems getting motivated until 2 days ago when I tried on a skirt I'd had from debenhams online and while i can do it up, it's too tight to look nice. And that's a size bigger than I was wearing pre-pregnancy. Also, it's my mum's birthday in Nov, her 70th, so there'll probably be something special on and it'll be so nice if i can look smart and not like i'm still pregnant. That's my motivation now.

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 14:03

i am the same size as i was pre-pg and it's not a pretty sight. i want to do it and look nice and get new clothes, just all the other "stuff" going on in getting in the way.

cliche but, maybe monday!
