Wow, all that free! Piriton not fully kicked in yet, but I managed a bath at lunchtime when DD did have a nap, which helped loads. Itching getting a bit worse again now, but off to bed in a moment.

Had a choc ice, but hey gotta have some pleasures in life.

riabutterflew · 10/09/2007 22:39

I would like it to be known that my tummy is the least of my worries.

I have just see a photo of my arse (ok, it was actually of me feeding a shire horse last week at a farm, but as I look like an overfilled barrel on legs, it was difficult to tell which was which - if it hadn't been for the pink jumper...)

Perhaps my mother has a point.

MUST TRY HARDER, i just hate cooking and love crappy food.

ARSE!

foxybrown · 11/09/2007 12:34

ah, you see your body lays down fat stores when you've had a baby in the arse and hip areas should there be a famine forthcoming and you can then carry on bf.

So actually you should be embracing, and indeed encouraging, it - because you never know when a famines a'comin.

daisyandbabybootoo · 11/09/2007 21:22

Had DD weighed today....she is 12lb 7oz, and I am 12st 7lbs.

I do not want this trend to continue.

Tomorrow I join Weight Watchers.

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/09/2007 13:20

I joined WW today......I've set myself a target of 10st7lbs, but ultimately would like another stone off that.

There was a young girl there who has lost 45lbs in 4.5 months , but good on her. If I lost that much that quickly I'd look like a big old wrinkly bag.

So, points counting starts here, and bless those 10 extra exclusive BF points. D'ya think my HV will condone me exclusive BF till DD is five?

jabuti · 12/09/2007 16:52

can i join you ladies, even though im from july?

seriously wanting to get back to my old clothes. used to be size 10 and now i can only wear my sweatpants... i think im around size 14 right now.

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/09/2007 18:08

hi jabuti, of course you can. We are supposed to be having a weekly weigh in but that's not happened yet!

When was your LO born? My DD was 5th June...and after an initial superfast drop of more than a stone, I stopped. It's started to actually creep up now hence joining WW.

My ultimate aim is to get back to my pre DS weight of 9st 7lbs. I've got a long way to go, LOL.

jabuti · 12/09/2007 18:19

hi daisy! thank you.

my DD was born on the 24th of ljuly. i can tell a lost some weight already, but not that much like you, even though im breastfeeding.

now i wonder... because i had c-section, is it possible for my uterus to go back completely to its original size?

sputnik · 12/09/2007 18:42

Hi Jabuti, the more the merrier here!
Not doing too well here with the exercise. Busy all morning and tend to spend the afternoons these days glued to the sofa with lo in feeding frenzy!
Done ok food wise though, so I guess I score 5 out of 10 for today.

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/09/2007 20:00

interesting question re the section. I hadn't actually thought about that...I've had 2 sections...but I thought it went back just the same

It's the lovely overhang I can't get rid of.

I've done a bit of walking today...maybe an hour in total and half of that at a brisk pace, so I suppose that counts for something.

There was something on TV last week about fat-burning, and apparently walking a mile burns of more fat than jogging a mile! Obviously you don't get the cardio-vascular workout, but if it's fat that matters.....

Will be starting the WW points programme properly tomorrow, as have been eating up the last of the mini mars bars . From now on I only buy snacks for DS containing gluten and then I won't be tempted

jabuti · 12/09/2007 20:38

i dont know, i might be completely wrong... (re: c section). but if anyone has any info about it, let me know! i just thought with normal delivery the body understands better that the pregnancy is over. probably for c section just takes longer, but its not different.

we are officially back to our normal diet for 2 weeks now. that means no junk/sweet stuff for 6 days, and one day free. our junk day is on saturdays. we also watch out for portions, nothing bigger than the size of your hand. veggie + carb + protein is what we eat on our meals.

im going for my 6 weeks checkup tomorrow, im hoping to get the green line to go back to the gym. so far, just long walks with our dog.

still long way to go, but we have started it (by the way, DH got overweight during my pregnancy too, so he is in for the diet as well).

foxybrown · 12/09/2007 20:40

hello, welcome jabuti - mine was born in july too.

i highly recommend Uni-glo jeans for this in-between stage. got a fab pair yesterday, and the have different styles, different leg/waist measurements and all for less than 25 quid!

foxybrown · 12/09/2007 20:43

the size of hand rule is a good one! not heard that before - i assume its fist size though! LOL

jabuti · 12/09/2007 21:41

hi foxy! yup, it is fist! and never eat as much as your DP or any male around. is it uni qlo you meant? i need to get out of my sweat pants!

riabutterflew · 13/09/2007 12:23

hi jabuti.

ok, am i right in thinking with WW you get points for each day depending on how much you weigh and the 10 extra for BF? also veg is free (except potatoes peas & sweetcorn)?

i have updated my plan - i will borrow the books from my sister and try WW frpm monday. as with all good diets i have bought the magazine today, and i got a cookbook for £1 at a car boot sale.

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/09/2007 16:45

Ria.....your age is also factored in...the younger you are the more points you get, as is your exercise level now. It nev er used to be like that.

I'm on 31 points which is loads and loads. When I did WW before I think it was 18.

riabutterflew · 13/09/2007 17:37

can't wait to get the stuff off my sister. plan to read my magazine tonight - i'm almost excited!

it won't last

Hi dg I'm back on here. Hope it's going ok for you.

It's day 1 of weight watchers points plan for me today. Had breakfast and lunch 2 squares of dark chocolate and still have 15 points left! It's going to be hard work working out all the points when I cook but it does make you think about what you are eating.

foxybrown · 14/09/2007 14:38

Did you join at a meeting Bumper? Get your books?

If you have access to their website, you can use the receipe builder which works it all out for you. And if like me you cook the same things over and over again, its worth taking the time to do it.

bumperlicious · 14/09/2007 14:43

That's a good idea. I only paid for the meeting and I bought a starter kit with the shopping and eating out guide and a journal.

Question: on my card it says I will be charged for weeks that I miss if I don't go to the meetings? Is that really true? I didn't really stop to talk, just popped into to get weighed and pick up the stuff.

Will check out the website but will probablt have to pay extra.

OP posts:
foxybrown · 14/09/2007 14:48

Yes, if miss a week you do have to pay. But that acts as a motivator I think.

I went for the monthly pass, so you can cancel at any time. Its cheaper than just the meetings and you get website access. I like to track my food using their tracker.

bumperlicious · 14/09/2007 15:11

So if I decide not to go again for a few months I will have to pay a fortune? Jeez, I'd be better off just not going again. Maybe I will go for the monthly pass but I just can't really afford it. If you do the monthly pass then cancel for a bit then start up again do you have to pay for the meetings in between?

I got a bit obsessive with scales for a while. Used to weigh myself about 3 times a day , but they suit me at the moment as I like to have a concrete goal. No chance of me having an eating disorder at the moment, I'm too damn hungry! (sorry dg, not meaning to be flippant about eating disorders, I know what it is like)
