Morning girls

Can't complain about last night's sleep, she only woke twice. (Yes, milk. Sorry...) Slept right til 7.30 then.
How was your morning Bloss?

Impy, your holiday sounds lovely! I'm reading Labyrinth by Kate Mosse at the moment, it's based in Carcassonne. Thanks for the picture, I can now picture the Chateau Comtal in my head while I read!
The pictures of Ryan are gorgeous too.

Beadmum, enjoy your lunch, and your Quest!
My dinner was yummy thanks.

Well best make the most of the fine weather today. Off to the park...

Wallace · 25/08/2007 20:06

Welcome back chester - iremember you!

spinspinsugar - always be KZ to me

Leo has taken over toby's 5am starts (is it a twisted sort of relay...) So I can hardly think styraight. Roll on bedtime

We have been having a bit of nice weather so I decided to take the kids for a picnic yesterday. Took me 45 minutes to get everything ready, by which time the wind had opicked up and the clouds had come over...

We went to a loch up on a moor and it was bloody freezing! I knew it was going to be windy, but it was really cold. I also hadn't realised that the loch would be so high (had I thought about it it was obvious that the water level woulfd be up because of all the rain) so there was hardly any beach. Leo crawled in to the water and got soaked, ds1 fell and cut his knee.

Picnic abandoned!

A very windblown Leo here

Wallace · 25/08/2007 20:10

PMSL just started to have a proper read of the posts and love the contrast between my photo and Impy's! Freezing cold windy scottish loch, or French chateau

And was in usandnosleep that was going on a holiday in a caravan with zillions of children...? Hahahaha Just kidding, us - bet you are having a lovely time

ImpyChica · 25/08/2007 22:04

Don't change your name Twinkle! I can't keep up with everyone as it is! I'd forget my own name if it wasn't based on my footie team....

Hope you get another good night's sleep Annie. I'd really recommend the Carcassonne area if you ever get the chance to visit - loads of beautiful little villages and mountain scenery... sigh..... v dreamy

Wallace that pic of Leo is fantastic! V arty. I'd blow it up on a canvas or something - it's lovely. It was hardly boiling in France - I just took most of the pix on the couple of good days of weather we had.

In-laws are about to descend on us to look after Ry for the last week of August - so I might be on MN every day to escape or might be too tied up IFYSWIM! Hope you're all having a good bank holiday - you lucky things! Hugs Impy x

kbaby · 25/08/2007 22:32

Blos- I got so fed up with forking out for the Lo?s all the time I set up an account which is to be soley used for their stuff. We both transfer £70 in each month and the FA and then what ever has to get bought ie friends presents, new clothes etc comes out of there.

Had another argument with DH today. He goes to the gym for 1 hr every day. Tomorrow he is going to a rugby match at 12pm and wont be back until after tea and then will prob pass out on the settee. He said today that he is going to the gym in the morning and I said not bloody likely which resulted in him moaning about how DS will be napping anyway and im so mean blah blah. In the end I told him if he goes to the gym he can sleep somewhere else as its unfair that I have to entertain lo all week and then all day tomorrow. Aparently its my fault for not having any interests no I don?t because theres never any time left for me to do anything, even if I go shopping I have to take one of them with me.

Wallace- Is that snow?

Well the pirate boat trip was nothing more than a boat trip full of oap?s and stag blokes. It was as if the children were just an afterthought. The boat was over crowded with patio chairs everywhere and the poor children had to sit still for 2hrs as there was no room for them to move. We went to the beach after which made up for it as they all stripped off and went swimming in the sea. Weve been to a boating lake and park today and then down the pub for tea as the weather was gorgeous.

Wallace · 26/08/2007 21:19

Looks like snow doesn't it? luckily it is just foam where the waves were blowing up on the beach. I think I will get it blown up and framed, it would go perfectly on my still bare sitting room wall.

kababy - (why can't I type your name, always comes out wrong) shame about pirate trip. I managed to get time to myself by taking up running Dh has to be supportive because he wants me to get in shape, so he can never complain when I say I need to go for a run! It is great - up to am hour of time to mysellf - no one talking to me, just me and my ipod

Impy - good luck with the inlaws. You must get a lot of people wanting to come and stay

jacobandlysette · 27/08/2007 16:01

sss you'll always really be kz, but wil do my best to remember your new name!

hi sloaneranger

kbaby - we went to a wedding o nsaturday aftenroon and of course i'm not drinking, so dh drank my share......

anyway, must run will write more tomorrow - spotting today so we are both worried sick that it's all over but called the out of hours service and had a read of my books and remembered i had a litle bit last time around so keep your fingers and toes crossed for us!

o'h and there are some other ladies on the may 2008 thread with me now! keep looking in on it though, you lot

xxx

Wallace · 27/08/2007 19:51

lysette - finger, toes and everyhting else crossed. Hope it is okay xxxx

Ceebee74 · 27/08/2007 19:55

Lysette - got everything crossed for you x Just remember that the majority of women who have spotting go on to have a normal, healthy pregnancy

HumphreysCorner · 27/08/2007 20:06

Sending positive vibes Lysette

Bloss-hope the Christening passed peacefully and also hope you have rested today.

Been to Cadwell Park to watch the Superbikes. Was a lovely day, Sophie was such an angel and Emma was fairly good too

DH washing Troy, again-has a bit of a car washing obsession at the moment.

Girls in bed so having a well earned glass of vino before I start the diet again tomorrow. Have ballooned over the weekend

Love to all

TheGoddessBlossom · 27/08/2007 20:15

Lysettes my darling everything crossed here too. xxxxx Any pain? My midwife cousin always says pain plus red blood = worry otherwise don't....

Wallace fantastic photo of Leo. Harry has that cardy...

Toby's christening went very well, we really enjoyed the day and everyone else seemed to too, weather was great, and we really enjoyed the church service, even DH said we should go more often! Food was completely stress free, and we are generally very glad we did it. If nothing else it was a chance to get dressed up, and show off our gorgeous boys that we are so proud of and they were angelically behaved. Will post pics. Toby got some lovely pressies, including this

Twinkle don't, uve got me stressing now about being stalked! I dread to think about the personal details I've posted on here....

Have had a lovely day today too, Dh didn't go to work, and we went to the park for a picnic, and then for a walk to feed the ducks.

Annie, Toby has woken at 5am the last few mornings but gone straight back to sleep till 6.30ish!! PRAYING that we have kicked the habit of staying awake at that ungodly hour, fingers crossed.

Busy week approaching. speak soon.

Bloss

SleepIsForTheWeak · 28/08/2007 00:05

Hi all,
It has been a while as usual... only work part time but battle to find time to fit everything in!
Lysettes, congrats hope all going well!

My big news is that after much to-ing and fro-ing, DH and I have decided that we are going to sell our London flat, pay off all debts, save a big pot (nice profit due to crazy prices) and go travellign round the world!!!!!!! Sort of. We will limit our destinations as travelling with a toddler, but Thailand, Indonesia etc are on the list. We figured it is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and it probably wont get any easier as Sefton gets older. Will end our trip in Cape Town for a few motnhs, and then hopefully be in a position to decide wether to settle there, or come back to the UK. Excited.

Sefton is walking now too, very cute. Still only has 3 teeth, and the most GINORMOUS gap between his 2 front teeth poor lad. Obsessed by cars! Such a boy it is really funny.

Have been missing you all, hope I can get it together to visit more frequently - between DIY of course!

x

Twinklemegan · 28/08/2007 00:24

Sleep - wow that sounds fantastic!

(The HV told me that a gap between the front teeth can be good as they'll get pushed together when the others come through.)

Ceebee74 · 28/08/2007 07:55

Bloss ? glad the christening went well and the weather stayed fine. And who can blame you for wanting to show off those gorgeous boys of yours?

Spin ? same here ?will always be KZ to me but will try to refer to you as ?spin?

Hi Sloane ? I remember you aswell! Don?t stay away as long this time eh?

Impy ? that holiday looked fantastic and Ryan is such a sweetie isn?t he? Although your normal life in Spain must be like a holiday

Kbaby ? agree with Wallace about the gym/exercise. This is the only way I get ?me? time aswell (and as your DH goes to the gym, he can?t complain about you doing it can he?) I go to the gym about 4 times a week and just switch off ? either do a class with belting tunes or stick my iPod in and tune out ? it is great!

Sleep ? wow, what a fantastic thing to do and, as you say, probably easier whilst your lo is little ? and what a great experience for him

Josh has got his MMR jab this morning ? has everyone else?s lo had theirs? I hope he doesn?t react (he hasn?t done to any of the other jabs so fingers crossed). He has also got a little cold where the main symptom seems to be his eyes going all manky and sticky but I am hoping that they will still give him his jab as I want it over and done with.

Hope you all have good days (and Lysette, still got everything crossed for you x)

HumphreysCorner · 28/08/2007 08:45

Sleep-gosh, that is exciting. What a trip!

Ceebee-Josh will be fine. Sophie only needed one dose of Calpol the following day.

Sophie has a gap between her teeth much to MIL's delight as DH had one as a baby so this must mean Sophie is like him

Knackered after yesterday so attempting to do very little today. Oh, and eat very little too.

Have a good day ladies and hi to all.

hello all,

hope you all had interesting weekends. some of my childless friends have been out raving this weekend - I caan't imagine doing the saame thing now that I am a parent.

I went to the Notting Hill carnival on Sunday which was children's day. It was fantastic, we had a great time. It waas the first time I had been to the carnival and I haad been expecting fairly innocent floats pulled by tractors instead it was enormous sound systems on lorries and streets taken over by sound systems. I loved it ... I am definitely going next year!! I'm probably a bad parent for wheeling my pfb in front of all this noise!!!

I will explain my long absence another time. It was similar reasons to you Kz. Sometimes peoples opinions get a little too forceful and in my vulnerable state alone at home it all got a bit too much. So I stayed away for sometime!!

sloaneranger · 28/08/2007 13:32

as you saw on my previous post my aa's have aan intermittent fault!

by the way my dd is 13 months, she crawls and cruises but no walking yet. I am heasitant to use the word cruise as isn't that something that happens in red light areas?

My posts may be infrequent as I no longer have a computer of my own. My 3 year old ibook broke beyond repair, Iam reluctant to get another ibook as I expected it to last a lot longer than that.

I have been looking at shoes already for my dd - I have already chosen some red start rites and aome red wellies..

jacobandlysette · 28/08/2007 15:43

hey everyone! sopke to the doc this morning and he said rest and stay in bed today - very easy with an actiuve 13 month old but a good friend has come round to look after him today (although i had to tell her so it's another person in RL who knows!)

sloaneranger - people sometimes seem ot theink on here that because you're not having the discussion face to face you can say what you like! I get so fed up with that that i really only stick to a couple of threads, unless i am really stuck for help and advice!

no pain though bloss and it's not red and it seems [fingers crossed] to be getting even less. I bled too with jacob so am nottoo shocked that it has happened.

the RTW trip sounds great! I'm so envious!

see you all later

MaeWest · 28/08/2007 16:00

Hi all, hope you all had good Bank Holiday weekends. Have just been skimming the posts as have been away at my parent's. Feel v proud of myself as I managed to get myself, DS, his buggy and my rucksack all the way there on public transport - 2 changes on the bus, then train, tube, train phew! . Luckily DS was really well-behaved on the train, he thought it was great fun, I did encourage him to eat for most of the journey as it kept him sitting down . On the way home today he was so exhausted that he fell asleep on my lap - lovely, and doesn't happen v often now. He's hopefully sleeping in his cot now...

MaeWest · 28/08/2007 16:01

Also, hope things are going OK today jacob&lysette - resting with a toddler must be a bit challenging, but hope you get chance to put your feet up

AnnieOleHouseElf · 28/08/2007 16:32

Hi girls,

Hope you all had good weekends.

Maewest, glad you got through your London escapade with no mishaps. Food is definitely the best travel companion!

Lysette, hope all is well today. Rest up now and take it easy.

Ceebee, hope Josh is ok. K had her MMR about 10 days ago now, and no side effects. Don't think we even got the Calpol down her as advised. She's grand! And Josh will be too.

Sleep, that trip sounds brilliant!! Good on you! [can I come please?]

Bloss, glad the christening went well! Now you have a sinless child! Horraay!
Hope the morning pattern is continuing for you. I'm still as crap as ever, she keeps waking and only milk will stop her yowling. And scratching. And teething...

Still no sign of [insert new car's name here]. DH was meant to go and pick it up today, but the insurance hasn't come in the post, and his friend wasn't there to help him!! So maybe tomorrow...

Right I'm off home, before someone finds me some work to do!!!
