Hi girls

I must apologise because I haven't been on for weeks.

Haven't quite caught up on all threads but Congratulations caught my eye so had to read about that...
CONGRATULATIONS Lysettes!!!! I'm sooooooo happy for you. It's so exciting!
And a bit of those of you ttc soon, I think I want another but have no idea of when.

Well............ Zack is sleeping through up to 3 times a week now I'm so happy about it. We've even had a couple of 8-8 nights
The nights in between can still be a nightmare, 2,3,4+ wake ups but I can live with that.
It's definitely due to stopping BF as he slept through twice the first week I stopped. Having said that I still miss feeding sometimes, it was a guaranteed soft cuddle instead of the running over launching himself at me for 10 seconds and then running off again!
I really feel like I have a bit of me back, I can go out alone and sit and read a book in a cafe or dance the night away returning when I want roaring drunk!
DP is loving it too as I'm not the fave anymore, sniff , he spends loads of time with Zack and likes it that it's now 50/50 work, care , fun.......

I LOVE the age Zack is at now. It just gets more and more fun. He can be so cheeky and has a great sense of humour. Although he is constantly running, climbing and generally throwing himself about which is no good for the running total of grey hairs to be found sprouting from my head.

He has stared saying more, only we understand most of it though!

We had some pics done at Venture and I'll see if I can post them somehow, we really love them.

I must be mad because I'm away next week with my sisters in ............................... caravan
There will be Zack, 2 x 3 year olds, a 4 year old, a 9 yr old, 3 adults in a 3 bed caravan. It will either be fantastic mayhem or a fighting, noisy, stressful mess! Wish me luck!

Zack is awake so have to go, I won't leave it so long next time, I do think of you all often though x

Ceebee74 · 23/08/2007 08:46

Hey Us - good to hear from you. Zack sounds like a delight to have around.

Twinkle - glad the meeting with the consultant went well

KZ - I do like the look of the long jeans (I'm afraid the size of my bum rules out 3/4 length ones ) but am now trying to work out how I can order/wear them without DH realising they are Comfy Jeans!

Well ladies I checked at nursery this morning - and Josh did walk 12 (yes 12!) steps by himself all in one go yesterday!! Still won't do it at home but the nursery nurse told me what she was doing to persuade him to do it so I might try it when we get home tonight.

Right work is calling - enjoy the sunshine today ladies x

HumphreysCorner · 23/08/2007 08:54

Annie-how many times did you get up/give in last night eh, eh?

Hi us!

kayzed-when Em had a night terror we lifted her out of the cot so she didn't hurt herself then sat with her on the wicker chair we had in her room. A massive teddy sits on the chair so we used to hold her and big ted together (group hug) After about 10 mins she used to calm down and we put her back in her cot and she was none the wiser as she wasn't really awake throughout.

Bloss-have you had any success in the early wake up call?

Lysette-how's the PG lady this morning?

So windy here so don't know how our day out is going to be. Had better wrap up well.

Fed up with this Microsys bill appearing on my desktop demanding money for the sex magazine that I mentioned yesterday. GRRRHHH!!!

Have a good day all.

MaeWest · 23/08/2007 08:54

Hey Us, good to hear from you. Glad things have settled down on the sleeping front .

We had a good night last night too, slept through until 5.20am from bedtime. Well we did hear him crying at one point, but by the time DH had got out of bed, he had stopped! Oddly I think that DS settling better for other people has co-incided with him spending LESS time with me in the day as he is going to childminder 2 days a week and I have also been shopping on my own etc at weekends (hardly ever bf during the day now, just morning and bedtime feeds).

Our big news is that Dom is standing independently - was doing 'no hands' all day yesterday and laughing like a drain. Also seeing the seeds of tantrums . This morning he was crawling along the landing after DH (we were both rushing around trying to get ready for work) and DH turned round and said 'No, go back to mummy'. At which point the boy laid down on the floor and howled!

Speaking of work, better get to it...

HumphreysCorner · 23/08/2007 08:57

X-posts Ceebee. Well done to Josh.

Is it just Sophie that is only crawling and not even pulling herself up?

TheGoddessBlossom · 23/08/2007 09:41

Hi us!

Annie you are rubbish.

I think Toby sneaked onto this thread yesterday and decided to comply - I heard him squawk at about 4am, got up to see which one it was, but all quiet on the landing. Then no-one woke up till 6.35!!! WOW! Like "normal" people!

Probably a freak occurrence, let's see what happens tomorrow.

Row with Dh this morning - we have Toby's christening and H's party coming up, expenditure which I think should come out of our savings or DH should sub me for cos if I have to pay for it all out of my "not going back to work yet" savings I'll be getting a job next month!! But I am going out for dinner with the girls tonight which he thinks is out of order if I say I can't afford things.... Just annoying, I'm not used to asking anyone for money, if our joint account was short any month I'd just put money in it from my account, DH never even had to know, and now I hate having to watch every penny. And no matter how much I try to economise (and believe me I am) DH never thinks I am.

Pretty mum congrats on your car, how lovely of your DP.

Can't remember who mentioned it but Toby hits too (was it you Twink?) and hereally packs a punch. I too think it is affection but I still say NO and put him on the floor or away from me if he does it..

KZ I am feeling left out too with all this TTC....sulk.

Blos- Could you get dh to wear ear plugs just for the few days it will take. You could also try putting something in H?s room to try and drown out the noise. If its noisy in Ds room when we put him to bed I put a fan or air con unit on as it helps to drown out the noise.

Lynsette- Big huge congrats- Makes me broody again. Well done.

Ceebee lol at your muffin top description. Its horrible I have it and it hangs over the top of my knickers im a size 10 so ds reckons its because it needs toning but I look like a triangle sat down with all this fat splurging over the top of my jeans.

Twinkle- Ds hits and at the same time as slapping me he goes ?oww? it does hurt and he does it to anyone. It favourite is to do it while your laying down with both hands one landing on my crouch and the other on my face, lovely not! No ideas how to stop it im just holding his hand and saying no.

Kayzed- If DD has a night terror I just get into bed beside her and try and cuddle her but if she still thrashes around I actually wake her up and take her downstairs for some pretend medicine- It seems the only way to get it out of her. She was prob 2 though when she started getting them.
Hello US.
Bloss- Dh and I also argued about money this week. He seems to think that we should have = spending money each and the money I save for xmas should come out of my spending money as he doesn?t get the benefit of it. I did point out that how did he think I managed while on Mat pay and I only asked him for money in my last month. Seems as if that was quickly forgotten about. Bloody men!

Right its another lovely day here so Id best get some stuff ready for this boat trip. Have a good day all.

TheGoddessBlossom · 23/08/2007 13:55

KBaby, they are oblivious aren't they. It's getting to the point where I am going to have to actually LIST the things my money pays for which is so petty and ridiculous but he just doesn't have a clue.

ie - all my boy's friend's birthday cards and presents, all my boy's clothes/shoes/wellies/coats/rainmacs/toys, their food when we go out, parking, entrance to parks, adventure zones, toddle craft type things the list goes on and on. I have two nights out in a month and DH thinks I am living the high life.

"Why don't you shop in Lidl all the time instead of Tesco?"

"Because Lidl don't do trolleys with two seats on them, they don't sell our nappies or SMA or any of the toiletries that you insist on having."

sorry to rant.

jacobandlysette · 23/08/2007 15:13

hey everyone!

PG lady pretty good here - just a little nauseous but nothing major.

Bloss i have exactly the same thing with DH. he spends a miniscule amount of money each month because he has lunch at work pretty much every day with clients, his secretary (madly) buys his coffee and i buy everything else for him, including his toiletries which you can only get from boots ffs! i make sure i tell him if i get something on a special offer, and make a really big deal out of it as he keeps saying "we are spending as much as i'm earning and not saving anything" grrrrrr particularly because since we moved i haven't had any more money in "allowance" IYKWIM from him but the insurance costs have gone up for contents and i now pay for buildings insurance out of my account, and all the utilities DDs have gone up, but i don't get a thank you or anything like that either! so i know how you feel.

i too am feeling lumpy....and was before i got pg. told my doctor today and told him my dates and he said "but your last period was only a month ago" "have you done a test" - Errrrr no I just thought i'd come in here and tell you i'm PG without bothering to find out first - he thne laughed (but in a nice way) when i said yes i've done 6!!!

anyway, off my PG now...

jacob has night terrors fairly frequently - he actually gets himself sitting up holding his muslin and crying in his sleep - settles after a long cuddle, but sometimes needs milk . we too are trying the getting him off the night time treat. gradually watering the milk down, well not very gradually, it's going to be 3/4 water tonight! the problem is that he seems to be one of these children that needs to eat little and often, even in the day. he gets bored with his meals before he's full, so ends up with all sorts of mixtures to get his savoury and dessert into him!

although he threw all his dinner up last night again. that's three days in a row. and he was almost asleep last night and then power vommited all over me, the chair and onto the floor. and it was spag bol with diced carrots in it - euuuuurgggghh. lucky i wasn't feeling fragile!

jacob's favourite game now when i hold hinm is to grasp my chin in both hands, push my neck as far back with my head tipped up, then pull it back down to look at him over and over and over and over again, like he controls my movements! he just kills himself laughing!

and yes he is starting to hit too.....

anyway, must go sorry as i haven't named anyone really and you've all been so lovely with congratulations!

aaah remembered HC well done! that's brilliant news and i want your secret on how to do it in about 10 months time when i have all mine again to lose

xxx

AnnieOleHouseElf · 23/08/2007 18:26

Hi Girls

Yes, Bloss, I am rubbish. Shite actually.
The 5th time she woke, around 11pm, she was up for about an hour and a half. It was 12.45 before I got to bed. She didn't have milk that time though. She did wake once more after that in the night and, yes, she had milk. I think the milk is definitely a comfort thing. When she wakes it's just scratch scratch scratch, so I was slathering on the cream every time too.
Let's see how it goes tonight. Not looking too promising.
BUT!! Well done Toby!!! Hope it lasts Bloss, and then you can send me some sleep vibes.
Hope your DH lightens up a bit. I hate money discussions. If you've got it, spend it, I say, if not, then don't. Simple. All in one account too.

HC, how was the Pink Pig? It wasn't Peppa was it??? My two would have hyperventilated if they saw her!!

Twinkle, 4 years the first time, but now that you've done it, your body knows what to expect and you are more fertile, so fingers crossed it'll take much less time this time. Best of luck!! (And keep us posted!)

KZ, I thought it'd be whiskey for you! Apparently gin has the least calories of all alcohol drinks. [self-defensive smirk]

Us, great to hear things are so much better!!

Ceebee, and Maewest, well done to your boys on the walking and standing!!

Lysette, hope you're taking it easy!!! Hope Jacob is better tonight.

Right so, fajitas for dinner tonight I think!

Oh, Kayley said her name today!! Well her nickname (wot Joey calls her!)
So sweet!! And yesterday when I got home from work they both came walking down the hallway armsout to meet me. I melted!

Have a good evening all

Bloss I don't want to say anything in case I jinx it

Long may it last.

We had a better night last night too, only woke twice. She still had milk though...

Must head.

sloaneranger · 24/08/2007 17:55

hello everyone,

I just stumbled upon this thread....I have been away from mumsnet for a long long time. I used to be chester anyone remember me? My dd is 13 months now. She crawls about but no walking as yet.

It's nice that you are all still on here!

AnnieOleHouseElf · 24/08/2007 19:19

Hello there sloaneranger! Your name sounds familiar, as does chester, but I can't remember a thing. A combination of post-pg and alcohol...
Welcome back!
Details please of your DD!?

KZ, I'll never get used to you under a different name. You'll always be KZ to me.

Well, DH has just gone a bought a new car, so I can join HC and Pretty in the New Car Club. I can't drive though...
It's this Scenic

Will have to think of a name for it...

Best go, fishcakes burning

HumphreysCorner · 24/08/2007 19:55

Welcome back sloaneranger

Ooh Annie-lurvely car. Yes, he must have a name

spinspinsugar-what's all that about then???

Bloss-hope the hangover is much improved. Tut, tut!

Lysette-keep talking about your bump. I have a strange obsession with PG women. Perhaps I'm wishing it was me

It was nice at the Pink Pig animal farm Not Peppa Pig though, sadly. Went on an ace tractor ride. We are going again next Thursday and taking a picnic.

DH home now so better show willing. Have cut the grass and strimmed though.

Love to all, having a well earned Blossom Hill before my tea as DH has dined at his mum's tonight.

KZ I keep thinking you're a new person! C'mon, you can tell us over a quick swig of Scotland's finest!!

DH came back minus the car! He doesn't have it taxed so can't park it on the road. Tax people are off til Tuesday. So he'll have to go back for it. EEejit. So I've got the babies to bed, cooked some chicken enchiladas (mmm!), downed a couple of glasses of vino, and he's gone off for a pint! The cheek of it! Like buying a car is all hard work and stressful..

Just waiting now for him to come back and we can eat.

K got super excited today when someone mentioned Peppa Pig! I've put her up as a background now on the PC just to annoy DH, cos he doesn't know how to change it, and K goes mental every time she sees it!!

Slainte all

kz - got me wondering why youve changed names now. thats such a lovely gift from the summer school

Hi sloanranger

hc - sounded like a fab day on the farm

bloss - fingers crossed for tomorrow morning

my maclaren quest arrived today, so excited. i'll actually be able to go shopping and have somewhere to hang the bags . my pushchair just now doesnt have the 2 handles to hang any bags from and very small shopping basket that only holds dd's change bag. i know, so sad arent i?

dh is back from newcastle few hours ago and is currently sleeping on the sofa, will spend time together tomorrow night now as im going to meet a friend for lunch tomorrow, some me time while dh has some daddy and charlotte time alone, dont think he'll go to his mums this time as i moaned last time about taking the easy option

Have a nice weekend ladies, hope the weather is as good as theyve been saying its going to be
Goodnight xx

Hi Laydeeez

Been on me hols - so a bit out of touch... have just been skimming the posts - so sorry if I've missed anything big...

CONGRATULATIONS to Lysette and dh - made up for you both!! Hope everything goes well for you all.

Fab meet-up pix. So wish I could have been there. BTW KZ, which SLR do you have? Been wanting to get one for ages and can't decide between Canon and Nikkon.... if you've got any advice, I'd be v grateful. Go go go to Ibiza!!! Just a sneaky party weekend would be great for you and Ch and Rosh won't mind!

Happy belated b-day to Toby and hope his christening goes well, Bloss.

Hi Slonerager!

Hello to everyone else. Too far behind to do individual posts - if I don't jump in now and say "hi", I never will!

Had a fab holiday camping near Carcassonne, France My friends hired a gite on the same campsite and my French penfriend came and camped with us for a couple of days too - it was fantastic! Had to come back a couple of days early cos of crap weather but we had a great 10 days. Ryan was a dream - really good in the horrendously long car journey and loved being out in the fresh air - ate double his normal amount too! He's walking if you hold his hand but not on his own yet. Babbling away loads too - mooing at the cows and the like. Anyway, good to be back, hugs to all, Impy xxx

Twinklemegan · 25/08/2007 10:23

I think you're probably right to have a change KZ - we all probably should every once in a while. When I think of all the stuff that's archived on here under my name.. But I just hate that other people wouldn't "know" me - have tried to name change once before if you remember?!

Perhaps I'll give it another go though - you've inspired me.

Hi Sloaneranger/Chester! I remember you

Hi Impy. Nice to hear from you as well - I think you picked up on by far the most exciting thing!
