Ceebee . Fab-so that is you and Lysette now. We won't be TTC until the New Year as still on AD's so got to be weaned off those first. Also like to wait until the youngest is 1.5 years old so the gap isn't too small.

We bought Sophie this Fifi Ride on for her birthday but as she still isn't doing much she can only sit on it but only if us or Em put her on it. I'm sure one day she will be able to move it along all by herself.

Bloss-this waking in the night business. I'm not sure how you would tackle it but (and I'm sure I may be shot down in flames) in my opinion, the more you go into the child the more they will continue to wake. My friend is still giving a bottle to her 17 month old when he wakes in the night just so she can get back to sleep. Hence, he wakes every night for his yummy treat. I feel that she will not get a nights sleep until he is about 3 or 4 years old. I seem to remember Em starting to wake in the night so gave her a bottle of water so she never woke for it again. If Sophie was waking at the same time I think I would start to ignore it once I had made sure she wasn't genuinely ill. Difficult I know.

On my laptop I keep getting this MicroBill invoice flashing up saying I owe £39.99 for my Gold sex magazine subscription. Have deleted the shortcut that appeared so hope that will stop it. Nortons Anitvirus keeps trying to fix it too.

Very windy here in Lincolnshire.

Have a good day all.

Quick poll- Whose LO is walking properly?

DS still just walking with your hand and will do a few steps if prompted but otherwise he prefers to crawl, just wondering who else?s lo wasn?t walking yet

We spent yesterday at the park as it was lovely here and then went up the shops for a few bits. Ds keeps shouting in shops though and it isn?t helped by DD copying him and then he does it all the more bit embarrassed walking around the shops at the racket they both make.
Were off to another park today for a picnic and then tomorrow on a pirate boat ride and treasure hunt, should be fun but im not sure how im going to keep DS occupied for 3hrs on a boat!

Hes been sick this morning. He woke up fine and was playing and just started retching with some bile and got hot, then he did it again a few minutes later. Since then hes been fine though and has had toast and milk and is now playing. Very odd.

HC ? I had them cleared out 2 yrs ago but theyre playing up again. At least twice a month I get a few days of sinus pain and need antibiotics and now not being able to smell is prob the worst bit.

You all seem to have Lo who actually listen to you when you tell them off. Ds just carries on banging whatever it is until I go over and take it off him and then he throws himself on the floor in hysterics. His favourite toy is a trike that he pushes(can get off it but not on it unaided) and he can store things in it. Currently there is the tv remote a doll and a coaster!

Goddess- we ignored DS when he was waking before 6am now he generally wakes at 6.30ish and will play in his cot for 30 mins or so. It may be worth giving it a go hes older now so may understand that its still night time.

MaeWest · 22/08/2007 12:06

DS still wakes at night, usually around 11pmish. The difference is that now DH goes in with a cup of water so I don't have to get up. I do bring DS into bed for a bf at 5am as I know he will go back to sleep for an hour or two (in his cot) and don't want to start the day at that time. I reckon that this is progress on a month or so ago when he was having 2-3 bf a night. He's just one stubborn little b...aby

kbaby - DS is cruising confidently and will walk holding my hands. Every so often I see him reaching out as if to take a step, but he then seems to decide that crawling is quicker and drops to the floor. My childminder keeps telling me it won't be long tho!

jacobandlysette · 22/08/2007 12:28

jacob is cruising confidently too and managing the stairs well but shows no sign of wanting to walk by himself. he will do it if you let him hold your fingers but nothing doing if it's on his own!

not much else going on here - I WISH THIS RAIN WOULD STOP i'm so fed up of it. We are having to wear non summer clothes because it is now so cold here!

TheGoddessBlossom · 22/08/2007 12:46

HC you are bang on, I agree with you about the not rewarding night waking with milk, and don't give Toby milk when he wakes up, but he isn't waking at night (although yes I know 4.50am is technically night time!) he just thinks it's morning time! He sleeps absolutely solidly through from 6.30pm till about 5am. You are right about your mate, her 17 month old will still wake up as long as she gives him a bottle.

KBaby, interesting that you ignore DS I think I will do this with Toby from now on, much to DH's annoyance I'm sure. We clearly need an extention to put Toby in, he is right next door to us and that is too near when he is awake that early!

Toby prefers crawling too at the mo. He likes cruising alot, and seems really sturdy on his feet when holding onto something, but hasn't taken any steps yet unless you hold onto both his hands and really encourage him. He is starting to free stand for a few seconds just lately. H didn't walk till 15 months so, so he's got a way to go yet if he's the same.

Lysettes - pouring here too - got a party to go to this afternoon that was supposed to be outside and the girl had to find/clear out and clean and prep a barn type thing yesterday at the last minute, god knows how clean the floor will be for T to crawl around on cos he ain't gonna stay in his buggy that's for sure....

Might try and sneak 40 winks while both boys snoozing......shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Beadmum · 22/08/2007 13:03

Thanks for new thread bloss

kz - love the song, how sweet. you'll have to get a photo of roshi on with her new haircut

lysette - thats a pity you're not getting away now, sure few days will pass quickly though

first - think youre doing the right thing, i just ignore charlotte if she goes to have a cry after being told off and shes forgotton it in seconds and off to do something else

hc - well done on your weight loss, it must be a great feeling being so close to your target weight. Charlotte got the same fifi ride on for her birthday, she sometimes pushes it around but never attempts to go on it, we have to put her on it and push her around

kbaby - dd is still just cruising or crawling everywhere, she stands for a while and walks if you hold her hand but has never attempted any steps on her own yet. Enjoy your day out tomorrow

bloss - charlotte sonetimes wakes in the night but we just leave her as long as shes not hysterical and she falls back to sleep, id give it a try, what have you got to lose?

was very windy here yesterday but lovely today. supposed to be nice at the weekend so hoping it is as dh is off and would like to have one picnic in the park day at least once before the summer is over

charlotte is getting very vocal, seems to be shouting a lot, would love to know what she is saying also does the crying with lots of shouting if shes told off and has something taken away that shes not supposed to have.

have a nice day everyone xx

Beadmum · 22/08/2007 13:07

Hello girls!!

Busy today eh? It's normally just me trying to pass away the day on here!

Kayley is walking properly. Well, more toddling really, (hence the name). Occasionally breaks into a run and falls flat on her face! This morning she came walking into the room carrying DH's shoe, shouting 'SHOE! SHOE!'. Very funny. She's very good at holding her balance too if she steps on something and wavers a bit!!
It's amazing how they all develope at different rates.
She's still rubbish at eating.
Right I've decided, HC, from your post, I'm cutting out her nighttime milk. It's getting ridiculous. Three times last night I think it was. Water from now on [Determined].

Pretty, congrats on the car! Have a good afternoon.

Bloss, you too, hope it dries up. And you get some sleep.

kbaby, hope your DS is better. And your sinuses. What a PITA. Kayley doesn't listen to any telling off! Like you I have to take the offending object off her and distract her with something else.

We have one of these in the garden, K can climb on herself and see saw away...
Her favourite toy is her pink monkey, a clingy one, with a clingy baby monkey, for which she makes a great monkey noise.

AnnieOleHouseElf · 22/08/2007 13:42

I'm losing it, I forgot loads of things in that post, now I can't remember them again?!

HI KZ! What a lovely song! I was going to ask you if you'd managed to sell the P&T as well, but just for a nosey. Even the second hand ones go for well over £300 on eBay.
I still love ours. Though the Maclaren gets most use, as Joey prefers to walk.

Ceebee, congrats on the TTC decision! We'll be keeping a close eye on you!! And you Lysette!!!

Who was suspecting me of the immaculate Conception!?? Wallace!? I can assure you, if it were me, it would definitely be immaculate!!! But it's not. I need more sleep and I'm taking too many drugs to get pg. And I drink too much... DH has to get himself sorted before we can do anything. If I could even stay awake for it...

First, LOL at Emma!!! Bless her heart.

HC well done on the weight loss! FAB!!

WEll I better head again. Some people seem to think I am here to do their bidding. Rest assured I will be skiving shortly...

jacobandlysette · 22/08/2007 13:51

we still do the same thing with jacob - if he can settle himself he gets back to sleep but he regularly wakes up at around 3ish and has quite a lot of milk.... often feel we are going round in circles as if we don't give him the milk he just cries with hunger...
and........drum roll please.................................................after about 4 months and five tests we are coming off the TTC threads and fingers crossed we stay off them too. so we must have been doing something right - Annie i know you'll be very pleased to hear this!

it's very very early at the moment but that's the beauty of MN!

AnnieOleHouseElf · 22/08/2007 14:11

Oooooooooooooooooh!!!!!! Lysette!!!!!!!!!

YIPPEE!!!! Are you going to join an ante-natal thread now and abandon us??

AnnieOleHouseElf · 22/08/2007 14:48
JeanieG · 22/08/2007 15:23

Ceebee74 · 22/08/2007 18:35

Have to say it again - Lysette - congratulations!

In terms of walking, Josh sounds very similar to most of the others - cruising extremely confidently, will let go and stand unaided for 10-20 seconds - and then drops to his knees and crawls off. He has taken 2 or 3 steps about 3 times (although his nursery diary did say today that he had taken 12 - not sure if this was in one go or on seperate occasions - must remember to ask tomorrow). Tbh, just doesn't seem that bothered and doesn't seem to realise what he has done when he has taken a few steps - but he will do it in his own time.

TheGoddessBlossom · 22/08/2007 18:38

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWW! Gone all gooey!! That is fantastic news Lysettes! So pleased for you and DH, well bloody done! Hurray!

Think Oldie Mum qwas up the duff again and Jersey has probably sprogged by now, but as they are no longer posting here and haven't done for ages, Lysettes qualifies as the first in my book.

Will you please post here? We will want all the juicy details so you might as well cut and paste from your other antenatal thread, we will all live through your pregnancy vicariously with you!! I truly don't know what I would have done about a thread I would have been on with H, didn't know about MN then more's the pity.

Right will ignore T tomorrow at whatever ridiculous hour he awakes as long as Annie doesn't give Kayley milk. Deal Annie? [virtual shake of hands and clink of glasses, on the Rose already]

Party was great, shows you you just need a grubby old bard, a bouncy castle, pass the parcel and a cake and 10 3 year olds are in bliss.
