Ok here is the new thread. Quite impressed that I managed to do this as I usually fail miserably.

Mummyhill - no, no reason just didn't send

Ummmm had my new moby no on there and home address etc

Friday looking good - love to see you

sarahhal · 04/07/2006 22:19

Just a quick hello! Hope everyone is well.

Tom is finally crawling after deciding to completely miss out the rolling stage. Actually, that's not true, he does roll but only in his cot and then cries as he hates being on his tummy!

Been back at work for a month now - only seven more days to work then it's the six weeks holidays!

Just glad it's not last year at this time and I'm not having to waddle into work in this heat!

Simplyred · 04/07/2006 23:32

Well done mummyhill on the new thread.

Hello Sarahhal - glad Tom is doing so wellxx

Was involved in a road rage earlier - a nasty man stuck his hand through my open card window and tried to strangle me!!! - just because (unknown to me) one of my indicators was not working. Mangaged to throw my self into passenger side and show him I was indicating and he calmed down and left - thankfully I was alone - it would have really upset ds or dd. I was shaking for over an hour afterwards!

mummyhill · 04/07/2006 23:32

Wabbitt - As you have my numbers could you give me a ring at home please if you can't get an email through even if you just leave a message on the machine with a number I can call you back on. I am still screening my calls atm and am in and out like a yoyo with nursery runs etc.

Hi Sarahhal - Good to hear from you.

Will do Mummyhill

SR - how very very shocking, did he get out of his car or was he walking anyway?

what a bloody brute... just don't understand this kind of thing

so glad you're ok and that the wee ones weren't in the car with you

{{{Hugs}}}

Simplyred · 05/07/2006 08:29

I believe he was driving a bus - it all happened so fast. I am going to contact the bus company today with his description as he was very distinctive. But feeling nervous to do it as he was a very nasty bit of work and don't want any come back especially if he was to find out where I live etc....

mummyhill · 05/07/2006 08:59

((((HUGS))) SR Sorry you had such a dreadful experience.

Wabbitt - you burning the candle at both ends again????

hi... my dd was born 31/8 can i join in?

beatie · 05/07/2006 09:43

Hi Raggydoll What's your dd called?

Hi everyone - it's nice to have a new thread topost on. I must make a bit more effort to frequent here and stay off the rest of mumsnet. The rest of it mostly makes me feel miserable anyway.

I have started to play the quiz again. I had to re-register as I couldn't remember my password so that strange new name is me

Is the London/Kew meet-up likely to happen? Where is everyone coming from?

Alice has a tooth! I didn't even notice, my mum did. I wasn't expecting one anytime soon since dd1 was 15 months when her 1st one came through.

Simplyred - I can't believe that happened to you over an indicator. I see people all the time not using their indicators. If that's all it takes for that driver to get riled up, perhaps he ought not to be on the road. did he think you were an easy target or something? How scary for you.

Nice to see oyu back PC. I love hearing about your Alice. Isn't it funny that our pair of Alice's are still not crawling. 9 and a half months. We go on holiday in 3.5 weeks. I wonder if she'll master it before then.

beatie · 05/07/2006 10:12

I've added an updated photo here

Raggydoll · 05/07/2006 10:25

sorry for delay - was putting dd to bed and then making myself a nice cup of tea and some toast .

Raggydoll · 05/07/2006 10:31

dd (sorry can i remain nameless, rl reasons ) is crawling, army stylee, and pulling up at furniture, she has one tooth that has just come through. On the otherhand she doesn't sit too well because she lunges forward everytime i put her down. she is my second, i have a ds who is 2 and dh. ds is [playing in the garden and dh is at work .

Simplyred · 05/07/2006 13:09

Hello Raggydoll great that you have joined us - your dd is do very slimilar things to my dd - especially the army style crawling and refusing to sit!

PiccadillyCircus · 05/07/2006 14:32

Met my homestart volunteer today. She is a single mum so is used to doing everything herself so may be able to give me plenty of hints and tips on how to get everything done. I need to get it organised so that I can easily do what needs to be done without relying on dh as he can be useless. When he tries hard and thinks about it he is a great help but most of the time he just leaves his brain at work and I end up doing everything and feeling completly frazzled.

Hello Raggydoll .

Hair now brown with golden looking bits in it (feel there is probably a more technical term ).

Had better go and pick up children now from nursery (I am enjoying my few days of leisure).

Simplyred · 05/07/2006 18:39

Sounds lovely PC.Hope the Homestart lady is helpful Mummyhill.

Rachel is very tired but refusing to sleep!! I had this idea I would get both kids to sleep and enjoy watching Portugal get thrashed in the football - yes I know its petty - but pleasing [wicked emoticon]

mummyhill · 06/07/2006 08:03

Morning all.

It's a bit cooler and overcast here atm so am going to try and rearrange the kids room so that dd has a bit more room to play.

Raggydoll · 06/07/2006 08:22

morning mh... we're decorating main bed at the mo and as we only have 2 beds the upstairs is a bombsite . Kids have nowhere to play so are with me in living room (driving me potty). Can't wait to get bedroom/playroom back.

Your hair sounds nice pc. Congrats on taking the plunge with your first colour.

mh - what is a homestart person if you don't mind me asking.

also mh, i live (reletively sp) nr bham and would have def come on meetup but i work thursday . i missed the start of the thread where dates were being discussed - or come to think of it i might have seen it but been too nervous to put my name down !

Raggydoll · 06/07/2006 08:25

hi simplyred - don't know anyone with dd same age so nice to have someone to compare notes with. how old is your ds - mine in 2.6

JoshandJamie · 06/07/2006 08:30

I've never joined one of these date-centric threads. But I have a Sept 05 baby so thought I'd say hello. Hello!

He crawls and has started pulling himself up onto things and stands on wobbly legs. He has 5 teeth with another on it's way through. He is completely disinterested in any kind of puree and just wants to feed himself finger foods. He does a lot of babbling - mamamam, bababa etc. He writhes around like a fiend when I try to change his nappy and hates having clothes put on. He still wakes up every morning at 5am which does my head in. I've been putting him on the potty with every nappy change just to get him used to the concept as we're currently potty training my 2 year old - and so far we've had 3 pees and poos in the potty from my little one - all complete flukes.

And that's where we're at with our almost 10 month old.

Raggydoll · 06/07/2006 09:22

hello j&j - dd did the 'feeding self' thing yesterday - was a complete shock. She ate lunch as normal then when it came to dinner she rfefused all spoon feeding and wanted carrotts and brocolli, potatoes etc off my plate...
