Ok here is the new thread. Quite impressed that I managed to do this as I usually fail miserably.

Hope duct clears up, Milward...wish I was still BF. Miss my time with DD1. And weight starting to pile on too!

milward · 18/07/2006 11:03

Thanks Jaamy - hope your doing fine & that you wont be too busy today at work. Hope you catch up on your sleep soon xx

Will be giving up bf after the summer to hopefully become preg again (age is against me here I'd like to bf for as long as ds4 wants)

mummyhill · 18/07/2006 11:07

Will crash out whilst dd is at nursery. I did some overtime last night but dragged self out of bed a 6.30 witht the kids and started on the jobs before it got too hot. Will do some more hswrk when it cools down in the evening.

Milward hope the duct clears soon.

Jaamy - sorry to make you but if you had air-con I would swap places right now.

SR - I have jealous child syndrome here as well I hope it will get better when d starts moving round and talking and can play with dd a bit until then I just try to put d up to bed early then spend somw girly time together with dd.

Milward - gosh no5! DH got very broody over a 9 wk old baby at the wedding we went to at the weekend. I had planned to leave it a couple of years until we had another baba but don't know now! I get so ill when I'm pg - not fair on DDs.
Mummyhill - Take advantage of your rest time while DD at nursery. I may just have a little snooze at my desk here...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

milward · 18/07/2006 14:05

thanks mummyhill I've got a docs appointment as I think it's mastitis. I was outside & shivering in this weather - & now I've a temperature. See the doc this afternoon - ahhh.

jaamy - but we've space in the car for another car seat!! plus too many baby clothes & stuff.

PiccadillyCircus · 18/07/2006 14:46

Hope you get the mastitis sorted out milward - it is not nice.

Feel like breastfeeding Alice is coming to an end = she's definitiely having more formula and less breast now and my deflated chest shows it . Not sure what I think really.

House is a tip but can't be bothered to tidy .

mummyhill · 18/07/2006 18:41

I still feel that I have to tidy and maintain a show house as much as you possibly can with two under foot.

Hello!

Hot - very hot - still feeling yuck from the bug! DS will get lots of mummy time over the holidays - have arranged this with my mum who will have Rachel. Bless him - he is a fantastic little man

wabbitt · 18/07/2006 23:35

I think I officially melted today...

Milward - hope it clears quickly xx

Mummyhill - how energetic are you????

Jaamy - the twinkley car now has a film of dust!

SR - my sister is having to help her ds (nearly 3) come to terms with his new sister - his repetoire of attention seeking behaviour has been (I hate to say it) quite funny

He: developed a stammer
took to banging his head on the floor or wall
controlled urges to smack and pinch by
smacking himself
developed a 'demon hair puller' face before doing his latest vile deed

Hats off to the boy - he's good! very, very good.

the stammering is beginning to subside and his urges to turn into the demon hair puller are far less frequent. It must be a huge change for a little one to come to terms with when they've been just them and mummy.

xxx to all

Beatie · 19/07/2006 09:41

Hi everyone.

18th August sounds fine for a Windsor meet-up. It will be nice to have that to look forward to following our return from holiday.

I'm at my parents' house for 2 days so I can get some studying done. It's lovely to have a quiet house to myself but I still find myself listening out for a baby crying or a 3 year old waking up.

DH broke up from school last week so he's being me for 2 days and looking after the 2 of them, including getting dd1 to Pre-school. It will be good for him! I miss my girls already though

I have a job interview tomorrow. I'm still not sure if I will go or not. It's for 2 evenings per week (33 weeks per year!)in a University resource centre. It's a year earlier than I really want to go back to work (even that part time) but I need the experience and I'm not sure how often such jobs will come up, hence why I have kept my eye on the job pages.

I don't even have anything to wear to an interview My last one was 6 years ago! And I got rid of most work clothes when i finished working two years ago. And it's so hot and the University is not the nice one that is close to me but is further away. I wish I knew what to do for the best. If I knew such a job would come up again in a year, I'd wait.

I'm still breastfeeding A twice a day but she's not that fussed about it. I want to keep going for the holiday and hopefully until she reaches 12 months but I don't envisage her 'looking for it' when I decide to stop.

Anyway, I'd better get back to my studies.

Hi everyone and sorry not to do personals. I have been reading.

jaamy · 19/07/2006 10:30

Good luck with the intreview, Beatie. I'm sure they'll forgive you if you don't wear a suit in this heat! Have you got a pair of linen trousers and a smart top you could wear?
Mummyhill - obviously this heat we're having is being generated by your busy little house.
PC - my house a tip too even though I never seem to stop washing, tidying, etc (when I'm not at work)
Wabbitt - better get a bucket to pour yourself in to cos it's gonna get even hotter today. Feel like getting a bucket of cold water under my desk to stick my feet in to !
Haven't been able to do any decorating in this heat - the paint is drying too fast and not going on at all well so will have to wait until it's cooler.

PiccadillyCircus · 19/07/2006 11:44

Why is it that last night when Alice slept really rather well (one wake up at about 2am) and slept from about 7 until whenever she woke up this morning (after I left the house) did I have to have horrible heartburn that stopped me getting to sleep for ages?

Alarm went off at about 6am and I got less than 4 hours sleep [yawn emoticon]. DH had a migraine as well; the pair of us are quite feeble .

Good luck with the interview Beatie - I'm sure that no one would expect you to be wearing a suit in this weather. You'll also probably get a better idea of whether it does seem the right thing to do or not.

Friday 18th sounds great - who knows Windsor to organise a green space?

I hope Alice and Benjamin are OK at nursery -it gets very hot in the baby room . Nappies only will be the order of the day I hope.

Back to some quite boring work, but quite nice to not have to be building track, feeding children etc. And at least the house can't get messy with no one in it .

jaamy · 19/07/2006 12:36

I Don't know PC - I'm sure the elves come in for a little wrecking session while I'm out...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Sympathies with the lack of sleep and work thing - I'm still trying to catch up from a sleepless Sun night. This keyboard looks like a very comfy place to rest my head all of a sudden...

Simplyred · 19/07/2006 14:16

Hello!

Should be working whilst Rachel sleeps but after some ebay surfing here I am!!
Its hot! Got 2 new fans in Argos in the sale - will help with the big melt!

Hope you feeling beter Milward and good luck for the job interview Beatie.

Wabbitt - you sisters son!! its amazing what they manage to get attention - last night ds said he was going to give himself a very big kick as he is a very bad boy and no one loves him! it breaks my heart! Will continue to give him assurance and love - we had this soon after Rachel was born and it has started again triggered by him being poorly - so hopefully he will feel more settled soon.

wabbitt · 19/07/2006 18:02

Beatie - I agree with Jaamy, linens and a nice top sound as though they'd fit the bill - good luck xx

I'd miss Conrad if he wasn't with me - ExP is on another campaign of pursuasion. He wants me to let him have Conrad over weekends he's not working... I reel at the thought.

So pleased the 18th Aug looks as though it's shaping up... I'm not familiar with Windsor, might float a question to other MNers if none of us know a good spot to picnic

if anything it's got just a little cooler here - top windows open and back door open so the through breeze is pleasant

jaamy · 20/07/2006 07:44

Well, it rained last night - had a mad dash around the house at 4am to close the windows. Still warm but much cooler. That sun has finally disappeared!

mummyhill · 20/07/2006 09:08

Still too blooming hot but now it i really humid too. On reflection I prefer dry heat to humidity!!!!

URRRRRRRRRRR drip drip sizzle!

Still baking here - although there is now a breeze.

Off to a wedding tomorrow - so need to iron urrrr!

PiccadillyCircus · 21/07/2006 10:13

Still hot here too. Just walking around yesterday made me get sweatier and sweatier.

Strangely Alice is sleeping quite nicely at night. I am wondering if it could be because she isn't wearing her grobag.

milward · 21/07/2006 10:27

good luck Beatie xxx

sred and all - thanks for the kind thoughts. I'm feeling better now. What a thing to happen. ds has been bf lots with the hot weather so I think this helped sort the prob out.

best wishes for the meet up - will think of you all

Still too hot here. Not even a breeze.

mummyhill · 21/07/2006 14:28

Still 30 degrees in my living room. I am melting. DD has gone to nan's for a sleep over so just ds and me this afternoon, am hoping that he will have a nap so I can get on with a bit of housework in preparation for the bbq on sunday.

OP posts:
wabbitt · 22/07/2006 15:49

Flooding here - the bottom of the garden's under about a foot and a half of water and everything's afloat down there - even the railway sleepers that retain my pebbley bit

Mummyhill - enjoy the bbq tomorrow - they say the weather will be returning to sunshine again. Do you have storms over there? Conrad's first experience of really heavy storms. Nandy was kneeling with him at the open sashes as the rain bounced high off the roof of our bay window... he loved all the splashes

Simplyred · 22/07/2006 20:09

Wow loads of rain for you then Wabbitt - we had a 20 minute downpour but not much else!

Was any one else in NEXT at 5am? got ds and dd summer clothes for next year!!!!

mummyhill · 22/07/2006 21:00

Had a fairly impressive down pour here but nothing as spectacular as wabbitt. I managed to leave the travel cot out on the patio whilst I was at work though any ideas on how long it will take to dry out?

OP posts:
wabbitt · 23/07/2006 00:53

Oh bum Mummyhill - have you managed to get it dry for your little man tonight?

SR - that's SALES dedication!!! Fantastic that you've got next summer's wardrobe for your two - did you get anything for yourself?

Floods have subsided here - N opened the 'through' gates at the bottom of the garden so that the shocking amount of garbage that trailed past would continue on it's way through to next door's garden (honestly she wasn't under instructions from me at all!)

xxx to everyone Nighty night.
