Ok here is the new thread. Quite impressed that I managed to do this as I usually fail miserably.

Work was fine - quite enjoyed it really (although very nice to see DS and DD again at the end of the day).

Really must tidy up and go to bed I think .

wabbitt · 10/07/2006 22:56

Nighty night PC - glad the day went well

I attended the graduation of my classmates today, I thought I might be a little envious or sad, but I had C with me and just thought 'well you lot all have your little bits of paper - but look what I've got '

Lots of Cooing over my beautiful boy helped too

Bubbles - hope you had a great time watching JK live

SR - did you win?

Mummyhill - poor little sis, hope her poor joints quickly return to strength after she's had her baby. Sending healing vibes {{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}

Love to all xxx

Hello everyone .

The sun is shining and some washing is out on the line. Took DS, DD and DH to the prospective childminders this morning and everyone liked it . Now all I have to do is give nursery its two months' notice.

A wail from upstairs suggests Alice is not asleep...

Well done for going to the graduation wabbitt and you're right - you have a lovely lovely boy and they don't .

Beatie · 11/07/2006 13:45

Oooh PC... is there a childminder out there who will look after your DH?

Really, glad you liked the CM and that going back to work has not been an ordeal.

Wabbit - I forget what course you are doing at Uni. It sounds like you have a good plan. You are still only in oyur 30s, plenty more years to finish your studies and get into something new. C will only be little once.

ych - Your line of work sounds very interesting.

Mummyhill - sorry to hear about your sister. I think I must have missed something. Is she pregnant and has she got SPD? I feel for her.

We had an active weekend. There was a Nearly New Sale on Saturday and I sold my pram/travel system. For some reason this has been the hardest thing to get rid of. I think it is because it was the first major baby purchase DH and I made. So much excited anticipation was build into that purchase.

I was fairly restrained on the buying front.

On Sunday we drove all the way to Bristol (2 hours) with dd1 to see The Wiggles. Yes, we are Wiggles fans in our household and I am sure DH and I (sadly) were more excited than dd1. We left A with my parents for the day and she was fine. It's the longest I'd left her for. I was excited about having a day with no buggies and nappies and for us to be able to lavish full attention on dd1. But really, she was not that well behaved She was fine throughout the Wiggles though and she even danced in the aisle towards the end

wabbitt · 11/07/2006 16:03

Husband minding!!! don't think anyone would trust their husband with me if I started a man-creche

It's a beautiful day here too

Debenhams has got a sale and I've bought myself the most lovely pair of suede boots for early autumn... at a silly price £10 reduced from £99! (Can't help but love a bargain!)

Beatie - I'm not sure I know what the Wiggles are...
Glad dd enjoyed the show, I'm sure she loved having just you and daddy again, it must be difficult for them. I know N still has her little needy ways that unsettle the balance.

PC - great news that the CM was approved of by the whole family

mummyhill · 11/07/2006 20:44

Sorry have to say wiggles are intensly irritating australians who sing songs that you can't get out of your head about hot potato and cold spageti, fruit salad and a big red car. Will lend you the DVD if you want.

Dear sis is 23 weeks and having problems with sciatic nerves. She is having hydro therapy three times a week and has been put on crutches bless.

Beatie, just seen your latest post on the housework thread (have it on my watch list but haven't managed to read it all yet, let alone post) .

I think that DH would have increased the hourly rate a lot, although I'm sure he would enjoy it there as well (lots of trains and cars (as well as other things)).

Beatie · 11/07/2006 22:07

Oh please don't read. It's not like me to get so riled up. I feel slightly exposed and embarassed now You'd have to read the whole thing to see why that poster has annoyed me. It's her tone and deliberate misunderstanding of the abstract feminist points that others were trying to put across.

I don't really care that much about housework or SAHMs or WOHMs or how other people organise their lives but I can see value in wanting the whole of society to alter its expectations of men and women and for both sexes to be able to work outside the home and spend more time with their families.

I should go to bed now I think.

Beatie · 11/07/2006 22:09

Mummyhill, ah yes. The Wiggles. You either love them or hate them. I like them for their wholesomeness - if there is such a word.

Simplyred · 11/07/2006 22:42

Ds went through a Wiggles phase - they are very energetic and very camp, they scare me- I'm not sure why! DH was very relived when ds 'grew out of them' but I bet I'll be singing hot potato hot potato for hours now!!

Ohh Beatie sound interesting..

Right of to bed - hot potato hot potato - there I go - dancing too in the wiggles styleee!

No Wabbitt I came 3rd - got a sticker too

Simplyred · 11/07/2006 23:15

Having just looked up camp in the dictionary - I mean 'exaggerated for effect'. srxx

mummyhill · 12/07/2006 13:24

Beatie I doned my hard hat and posted then beat a hasty retreat on the housework thread. It is allways contentious and guaranteed to kick off.

Please don't feel embarrassed Beatie . As I am always a coward, and just watch "interesting" threads without posting anything on them .

jaamy · 12/07/2006 14:36

Hello All!
Big post coming up as usual.
Sorry not been around - building work and holidays now all finished so am back in the MN world again. Here we go...
Thought the meetup was in Chester on 14th??? Was quite looking forward to it. Typical you've rearranged it while I've been offline. Oh, I'm so rubbish!! Windsor a bit too far for me but have lots of fun .
Lovely to hear how all your little people are doing. DD2 is 9months 2days and now crawling at great speed. She is so ecstatic that she can follow us around! Still a cheeky giggly girl who never seems to stop smiling. 5 teeth and taking well to feeding herself . Mostly veggies, bread, banana and rice cakes (though I spoon feed too). Her fave toy at the moment is the argos catalogue which she can rip up till her little heart's content. She's great and I'm a VERY proud mummy.
Mummyhill - so glad the SS have closed your case, hoping your family will keep supporting you and that your "friend" comes down with something nasty that she has caught from a dirty loo seat somewhere!!! Sounds like you're still really busy, though. Hoping your sister is right as rain after the baby is born. Is there any chance that the baby might move off her sciatic nerve in the meantime? It's a long time to go suffering like that.
Rhumba - my dear alter ego!!! Glad you had a good time in CP. Was it the Longleat one? We went there last year but tried Sherwood forest this year. It's hardly a relaxing holiday though is it? Will deinitely be heading to the sun next year.
Wabbitt - your lovely little man - "mamamama". And yes, I bet all the graduates were cooing at him - so they should! Sorry you missed out with the exam board - have blown them a raspberry for you!
PC - hope your hol was lovely and that the fond memory is keeping you going now you're back at work.
SR - so sorry to hear about your friend. I know it's not much comfort but it sounds as though their passing was so quick that they wouldn't have suffered. Big hugs.
Hope you have your indicator repaired so as to avoid irate bus drivers.
Beatie - Doesn't Alice look gorgeous and so grown up! DD1 would be soooooo jealous of your Wiggles trip - she adores them but they were all booked up near us. Like some of the rest of you I think they're a bit scarey!
Hello to Sarahhal, NLSTM and Bubbles!!
And welcome to Raggydoll and JoshandJamie!
I'm 33, work part time in marketing and live near Liverpool. I have 2 DDs - 2.5 yrs and just turned 9months (DOB 10/10/05 but she was 16 days overdue hence why I joined the sept 2005 thread and they're such a lovely bunch that I couldn't bear to leave them!) Hope you'll both stick around.
I'm just back from showing off DD2 to relatives in Ireland. Both DDs suitably impressed all family members and were thoroughly spoiled. Off to wedding on sat of an old school friend. The wedding was brought forward as his wife-to-be's mother was diagnosed with cancer after the date was set. Unfortunately just heard that she has died. So will be a bitter sweet day on sat. What do you say - "Congratulations - you look gorgeous, oh and by the way, I'm sorry about your mum". Going to be difficult.
Take care all x

jaamy · 12/07/2006 14:40

Hello to ych, milward and LL, too.
Hope all ok

milward · 12/07/2006 14:42

love to all xxx

mummyhill · 12/07/2006 14:49

jaamy - Lovely to hear from you again. Hope we can arrange a date durring the summer hoildays when we can all make chester.

Beatie · 12/07/2006 19:25

jaamy - I'm sorry to hear that the wedding will be a bittersweet event. Your poor friend.

I hope you Northern ladies manage to arrange a meetup over the summer.

We need to make a date for the Southern one. So any Friday after the 12th August is fine with me (I can do any day of the week but it seems liek Fridays are the best day for the working mums). What dates can everyone else do?

Simplyred · 12/07/2006 20:17

I'm sorry Jaamy to hear about the wedding - it was my friends funeral today. It was very very sad - lots of brave people said a few words and the not so brave blubbered. The church was packed out.

Ds has a sickness bug - so missed the 'wake' (sp?) afterwards which was a shame. DS is really poorly and very upset about it - he has now been sick 8 times - and is pleading with me to stop it for him just called nhs direct and awaiting a call back - thankfully Rachel is asleep!

ych · 12/07/2006 20:54

Simplyred - thinking of you, I've been to 2 friends funerals and they were just awful. Hope your DS is feeling soon, what a wee shame.
Hi Jaamy, hope the wedding goes ok.
Beattie - I'm not really in the fraud squad as such, but have just moved to the fraud dept for a credit card company, it is quite interesting though. I was hoping to get an un-marked car and fraud squad ID card but it's not happened yet!

ych · 12/07/2006 20:57

Forgot to say, I caught up with the posts at lunchtime at work earlier and all afternoon I had that bl*ody 'hot potato, hot potato' song going on in my head!!!!!!!

ych · 12/07/2006 20:59

Simplyred - that was supposed to read 'hope your ds is feeling better soon', not just feeling soon!

ych · 12/07/2006 20:59

Simplyred - that was supposed to read 'hope your ds is feeling better soon', not just feeling soon!

ych · 12/07/2006 21:01

Ooops - I'm such a blonde bimbo!!!

Simplyred · 12/07/2006 23:17

Really worried ds has a high temperature and passing blood in very runny bum - waiting for nhs direct to call back....wondering if to take him direct to hospital but he wants to sleep... is this the end of the yuck, is he really poorly? panic panic!
