Sounds like she's throwing her hat in the ring.

She says she's paid off the tax she owes and is no longer under investigation.

This apparently means she's free to run - and is going to.

I'd rather stick pins in my eyes. No way.

UniquePinkSwan · 14/05/2026 06:43

Absolutely not and she would be far more unpopular than Starmer. She is on a level with Corbyn to me.

Ipsevenenabibas · 14/05/2026 06:44

No, nope. Never.

Hallowedturf · 14/05/2026 06:44

An emphatic YES.

Simply because she would warp-speed this Government’s demise as opposed to the current death by a thousand cuts.

Contrarymary30 · 14/05/2026 06:46

Yes .

JordanaBevan · 14/05/2026 06:47

No

WhatNextImScared · 14/05/2026 06:49

YESSS

God I would be so delighted to. But I won’t get the chance because the Labour Party membership is misogynist and won’t elect her leader.

She does have that going for her.

RunningJo · 14/05/2026 06:52

Absolutely no

stillhiding1990 · 14/05/2026 06:52

Nope, I wouldn’t

PinkHairbrushClub · 14/05/2026 06:54

If we are about to enter the same rigmarole of prime ministers in and out of Downing Street as we had under the Conservatives I won’t be voting labour. Whoever is the PM. Just proves they’re more interested in internal power struggles than running the country.

That's my thought as well.

If Labour finally had a left wing Prime Minister it would be the first time this century - and imagine what she could achieve.

But the party is too misogynistic, racist and transphobic to elect anything other than a white right wing man.

No. She's proved herself to be distrustful and sneaky, and not adverse to accepting freebies. Having paid off the tax doesn't negate the flat buying fiasco. The only benefit, as stated by a pp, is that she'd hasten the demise of the Labour Party.

KatiePricesKnickers · 14/05/2026 06:57

@WildEnergySupplier “If Labour finally had a left wing Prime Minister it would be the first time this century - and imagine what she could achieve.”

She would only achieve pushing the country closer to bankruptcy.

Sesma · 14/05/2026 06:58

No but I wouldn't vote for anyone Labour

UtterlyUseless · 14/05/2026 06:58

No

Iwiicit · 14/05/2026 06:59

When hell freezes over. I find it terrifying that anyone could even contemplate this.

That’s amusing.

She would rapidly preside over the UK’s economic demise - gilt yields would spike, sterling would tank and the economy would be on life-support.

She’s unqualified - her gender is irrelevant.

RS1987 · 14/05/2026 07:00

I would vote Labour with her in charge, yes. We don’t vote for individuals in this country, we vote for local representatives of a party.
I think Andy Burnham should take over before the next GE but I don’t want another pm just yet, I think Starmer is doing a good job, I don’t understand why he’s so unpopular and I think a change in PM is really disruptive and we’ve had enough of that over the last few years.

CurlewKate · 14/05/2026 07:00

Absolutely yes.

Tontostitis · 14/05/2026 07:00

Never
Tax dodging
Lied to buy a council house cheap
Vile name calling

IoannahJo · 14/05/2026 07:01

It is a shame but in my view Rayner would not win Labour a next election. Like Corbyn (who I liked). I like Rayner in many ways so it’s a sad thing.

@WildEnergySupplier weird that you say Labour is transphobic - quite the opposite I think! Many of us left wing women have been lost by the trans women are women stuff and treatment of Rosie Duffield for example.

CatLady476 · 14/05/2026 07:09

Yes, as long as she shows due respect and consideration towards the needs of devolved nations and regions. I would like to see a separate NI code set up to enable Scotland to have more immigration as well as seasonal workers - our population is crashing and we desperately need more young folk. Clamping down on immigration across the UK would be disastrous for us. I would also like to see a better trade arrangement with the EU sooner rather than later.

xino · 14/05/2026 07:10

She’s not very bright. The thought of her representing the UK on the world stage is terrifying.
