Sounds like she's throwing her hat in the ring.

She says she's paid off the tax she owes and is no longer under investigation.

This apparently means she's free to run - and is going to.

I would also rather stick pins in my eyes. I can't think of anyone less fit to be PM than her. Give me Liz Truss any day. These Labour clowns are going to sink this country once and for all. If you think the CoL and mortgage rates have been bad up to now, it's about to get a whole lot worse. The markets are VERY unhappy about all this 😔

AlexaStopAlexaNo · 14/05/2026 07:47

I’d literally rather vote for reform

Worm28 · 14/05/2026 07:47

I’d rather have the Intel Lady than Our Ange. You can find her on YouTube

jeaux90 · 14/05/2026 07:47

Wes Streeting might tempt me back into being a Labour voter. He is the only one that seems capable of telling the truth.

Snapespeare · 14/05/2026 07:35

Absolutely yes. She'd run through the Farage 'man of the people' nonsense like a dose of salts.
There's always something about looking down our noses about working class women who make something of themselves isn't there? Calling her thick, uneducated, inarticulate. Snobbery about teenage pregnancy. Grifter because she's defied the odds.
She's got a far better standing in the parliamentary labour party than Streeting. I hope she puts her hat in the ring.

She wouldn’t stand a chance against Farage or Kemi. Doesn’t matter what your opinion is on him one thing he’s very good at is public speaking and debating, hence why he’s got the amount of support that he has.

ruffler45 · 14/05/2026 07:49

I have thought for a long time that Starmer only went for the leader role was to stop people like Rayner, Milliband getting it although I was never convinced he actually wanted the job...

Catsandcheese · 14/05/2026 07:49

If a leadership challenge goes ahead I will as a lifelong labour voter stop voting for them.
I have a lot if time for Rayner, Streeting and the rest of them but have they paid no attention to those Tory years and the leadership changes?
They need to rein in their personal ambition and do the jobs they’re elected to do.

Hallowedturf · 14/05/2026 06:59

That’s amusing.

She would rapidly preside over the UK’s economic demise - gilt yields would spike, sterling would tank and the economy would be on life-support.

She’s unqualified - her gender is irrelevant.

This!
It is not misogynistic to say that she and Reeves are totally not up to cabinet jobs.
Of she become leader the IMF will be on speed dial to bail us out, but may not have the cash if the French jump in first

VivienneDelacroix · 14/05/2026 07:52

I don't think it would be good for her to run. The personal attacks she is likely to face in the press would be relentless. People assuming she is stupid and inarticulate based on her accent and background would take its toll very quickly.
The press are always harder on the Left, add to that being a Northern working class woman and she will be set up to fail.

ainsleysanob · 14/05/2026 07:12

I suppose if it was a choice between her and Pol Pot then I’d have to. But otherwise, no.

Idk whether to laugh or cry… so doing both. This has given me some much needed stress relief.

User1998776 · 14/05/2026 07:53

Absolutely NOT!!

So true. It’s all so depressing.

BlossomLeaves · 14/05/2026 07:20

Yes a would, but the snobbery and misogyny she already faces would be insurmountable in terms of being able to get on with the job let alone lead Labour into an election.

Agreed.

somethingnewandexciting · 14/05/2026 07:55

I would vote for her over Wes. All this time and no changes for women in NHS just a lot of talk.

‘vote Labour to end the chaos’

JulietteHasAGun · 14/05/2026 07:57

Nope. I’ve voted labour since 1996 but she seems like someone who’s been promoted above her competence level. Someone the other day hit the nail on the head when they said she’s local council level.

And I say that as a rough round the edges northern woman so I’m not exactly biased against her for those reasons.

I think the economy would tank further under her leadership.

IDontHateRainbows · 14/05/2026 07:58

No, we haven't got enough money for her to give everyone other people's money.

Lammysaurus · 14/05/2026 08:01

I would not, but then again I wouldn't vote for Wes Streeting or Ed Miliband either after the way they have behaved for the past few weeks. And fuck off with engineering an expensive by-election to get Andy Burnham back in the commons - I'd vote against him twice if it came to it.

ChestnutSquash · 14/05/2026 08:02

It was the unions that gave us Ed instead of David. I thought we had got away from the student union along with Corbyn, but here we are again. The unions are in charge, mysogyny rules and I don't think any of this lot have the knowledge, statesmanship or experience to be PM.
I was anxious for KS to stay until he handed over the safety and wellbeing of women and girls to Harriet Harman, of all people.
Now I am just anxious.

Intel Lady is fabulous. I love her No Brainer With Angela Rayner.

Seriously?

TipsyLaird · 14/05/2026 08:05

Not in a million years. If they elect her, Labour are finished.

Viviennemary · 14/05/2026 08:05

No. I disapprove of everything she stands for.

Nanda66 · 14/05/2026 08:05

Kemi hit the nail on the head in the Commons yesterday when she looked Wes Streeting in the eye and said ‘Do your Job’. They need to get on with the jobs they’re supposed to be doing and stop playing silly political games.
