soon2befamilyof4 · 22/02/2009 14:50

Hello!

I'm thrilled to announce that my dd1 (2.5) is potty trained (minus naps) so we can move dd2 (almost 9months) up into the tots size 2s! Phew...thought I might have to buy some more there for a minute...

swampster · 22/02/2009 14:57

Mini swamp is in a despicable right now ! I just don't have quite enough nappies for a tiny one to be in cloth full-time - well I do, but only with a gi-normous arse. He is only about 7lb.

AnnVan · 22/02/2009 15:00

hello again ladies.
Can I ask a question? saw a mumnet group on fb, but it is a closed group? What's that about?

swampster · 22/02/2009 15:00

ilove... I have 10 BBH now - I think that has got to be enough for any one baby. I did have 21 for a while until I did a purge (well, six of those were never mine, they were promised to a friend before I bought them...)

swampster · 22/02/2009 15:03

AnnVan, you just have to send a message to an admin explaining that you are the fragrant Ms Van from MN and you should be approved.

soon2befamilyof4 · 22/02/2009 15:08

Well done tassisssss and her DD! .

Do you get on well with tots bots?

DD is in a MEOS with ME airflow to see how that works for her. Used to love them when she was in washables before, but she was a lot smaller and wet a lot less at the time! Although she had explosive BF poo at the time and it coped with that! Does anybody know if they are worth trying at night? With some sort of booster obviously?

What do you do with your nappy buckets? Do you wash them out everytime you empty them?

Think I now have enough nappies to wait until I have a full, nappy only wash instead of rinsing and washing with other washing. Do you think they should still be rinsed first? Or can I just put them straight in the wash, with some washing powder on at 40? It is so hard to work out what is best, wanting both clean nappies as well as wanting to be eco friendly. Does anybody here use vinegar in the wash to help soften? I put a tiny bit in with every wash and find it helps but still have problems with nappies not being soft enough. I was thinking I could just use more vinegar in the nappy only wash? I am consious of the smell of vingear with other things, but it wouldn't matter if the vinegar made the nappies smell a little bit anyway. Trying to avoid tumble drying but the nappies are just going crispy!

4andnotout · 22/02/2009 15:21

tles have joined the fb group.

Can we list the nappies we have for sale on there as i need to make some room, i may reduce everything just to get rid! I have bags of newborn clothes and maternity clothes to ebay too, i need to get my arse in gear!!

soon2befamilyof4 · 22/02/2009 17:07

What size are your maternity clothe 4?

I am sure it says on the FB group that you can buy/sell swap

lollipopmother · 22/02/2009 17:15

Uhhhg Lollipoppet now has an open sore/blister on her bum, first time ever . MIL thinks she's teething but I can't help but feel like I should be doing something. I've put myself on a cream ban as nothing was really helping, but I don't know what to do now as she's never had an open sore before. Should I be putting Sudocrem on it or something? Should I put her into disposables? Better go and resurect my initial 'sore bum' thread, uhhg.

4andnotout · 22/02/2009 17:24

Lolipop I would suggest as more air as possible, and maybe a dab of sudocreme on the open sore, i have given up on the metanium too and dd4's bum is starting to clear.

Soon they are mainly 18-20 and larges.

4andnotout · 22/02/2009 17:24

much not more!

soon2befamilyof4 · 22/02/2009 17:40

Lollipop. This happened to DD about a week or 2 ago (while wearing disposables). I used boots antiseptic cream which is a bit like sudocream but I prefer it. It cleared up within a few days. I also gave her some nappy free time but it is hard when you have carpet and she is very active!

mumoftoby · 22/02/2009 17:43

TLES I have just joined the facebook group too.

Hopefully · 22/02/2009 18:31

Lollipop i agree with 4 - maybe a tiny bit of sudocrem.

Eek, my one bumhugger is drying, so I have to just try to boost the bamboozle to within an inch of its life - this no dream feed lark is proving challenging! hope some more of my preloved night nappies come tomorrow.

Hopefully · 22/02/2009 18:32

Meant to say lollipop, sending sympathy vibes your way, poor little E doesn't deserve that after all the effort you put into her bottom!

soon2befamilyof4 · 22/02/2009 18:54

I have been up in the loft and found lots of nappies and wraps. Still loads missing though. I found my mommys touch pockets though and going to put it to the test tonight. I have put in it, a large prefold and a booster so hoping it goes ok. If I can't get the mommys touch to work either for day or night then I might as well sell them now, while they are still as new condition. Have litterally been used once each and in lovely girly colours. When I put it on though, I was looking at it and the front looks like it might leak at the top as there is no grip/elastic or anything? The back has, but not the front?

I also found some other pocket nappies but no idea what they are. They are very old anyway, but still in good nick I think, although I didn't know what they are meant to look like! They are brown. One is all fleece and the other is fleece inside and outside, but has a waterproofy type layer in between. Not sure what size they are, I am going to try them out with DD if they will fit her.

AnnVan · 22/02/2009 19:34

lollipop seb had this before (the open blisters that is) Try puting some salt in her bath. Also Sudocrem, lots of nappy of time, etc.
My mum and sister swear by cornflour for helping severe nappy rash, so you could give that a try. It does take a little while to clear up when it gets that bad though.
